Middle Child Syndrome - Chapter 192
Chapter 192: Ch 192: Throw me a bone
“You are such a good girl, Rika. You are asking me about people who made your life harder. It’s no wonder my dear cousin Emily fell for you. I would have fallen for you as well if you were an omega. But alas, my heart is already set on your beautiful sister, Suzie, and her beautiful eyes. I must-”
“I cannot give you Suzie’s number since I don’t have it. Stop trying to flatter me and get my help with her.”
Rika recognised where this conversation was going, so she quickly ended it.
“Tsk, it was worth a shot. Anyway, please let me know if you need my help with anything. I don’t want Emily to kill me because something happened to you.”
Rocxx offered, and Rika was thankful for the offer.
She was about to cut the call off when she suddenly wanted to ask Rocxx for important information.
“Hey Rocxx, there is someone I need you to look into for me. He’s an alpha at my college, and his name is Zhu Li. I think he’s dominant like Damian, but I am not sure. I have a bad feeling about him. Do you think you can look him up for me?”
Rika asked the older alpha.
She was unsure if she should ask this, but she wanted to learn a little about the people around her.
“Heh! An alpha, huh? I guess Emily and Dami have enough reason to feel jealous now. Don’t worry! I won’t tell them what you asked me to do. I don’t want this poor lad to die before I even get my hands on him.”
Rocxx promised before he cut the call off and got to work.
Rika rarely asked him for a favour, and he wanted to fulfil her wishes first.
“Guys, I have some work for you to do. Track down a Zhu Li in the local college for me as soon as you can and give me all the information you have available on him.”
Rocxx asked the people working for him, and they quickly got to work.
Fifteen minutes passed without any indication that something had been found. Rocxx was getting annoyed by his team’s need for more response now.
“Hey, did you all not find anything worth reporting? Just what the heck are you all doing?”
He asked annoyedly, but his team looked back at him worriedly.
“B-Boss! We are sorry, but our records have nothing on this ‘Zhu Li’ fella. It’s as if he’s a ghost that does not exist.”
The workers all had the same outcome, which worried Rocxx. He expected the search results to appear reasonable when he looked at them.
“Tsk, you are all useless. You cannot even find a single person in your database and expect me to promote you all to executives? Just go and find more information! Hurry up!”
Rocxx yelled, and everyone got to work.
The boss could only rub his brows with a worried expression.
He might have scolded his guys for not being able to find this database, but he also knew how talented these people were.
If they could not find someone in the system, the person they sought did not exist.
“Rika Goodwill, what kind of trouble did you get entangled with this time? You will make me have grey hair before my age. Shit! What do I tell Emily? That an unknown dominant alpha snuck into our turf? She’ll kill me.”
Rocxx was worried.
No!
He was terrified of what Emily would do to him if she knew the truth.
Thankfully, both she and Damian were busy for now and could not come to find him. But Rocxx was not cocky enough to assume that this situation would last forever for him.

‘One more hour. I need to get away unnoticed for one more hour, and I will be free. I hope nothing happens.’
Rika prayed as she kept her head down and attended her lecture. However, her effort to lay low was ruined yesterday.
Now, people pointed at her and gave her looks of admiration no matter where she went. It was becoming too much for Rika now.
“Wow! Someone is suddenly famous on campus. So, would you care to tell us everything that happened, Rika? Or do you want us to believe rumours that are circulating?”
Fey teased Rika as she sat down beside her in their shared elective.
Rika hid her face even further into her arms to hide from Fey.
Her actions sent a clear message – to leave her alone and not ask her questions. But Fey pretended she did not hear what Rika said and smiled her charming smile instead.
“Come on. Please show us your face. You don’t have to be shy like this.”
Rika only looked up part of the time.
Or rather, she could not look up at all. Her face was flaming because of all the attention she was getting. She even kept her head down when she walked out of the class.
Rika was about to head out with Fey when she suddenly had a bad feeling.
Her body dodged the incoming arm before Zhu Li could place it on her shoulder.
The male looked disappointed to see that Rika had dodged his well-mannered gesture of goodwill and made a sad face.
“Aww, why did you avoid me? I mean, you no harm. See! I want to be friends with you.”
The alpha called out, and everyone stopped what they were doing to look at him and Rika.
Rika’s annoyance spiked, and she quickly stepped back so that this alpha would be as far away from her as possible.
He gave off dangerous vibes, and no matter how gentle and calm he pretended to be, Rika could see through his facade. This man was bad news.
“Sorry! But retract your offer of friendship. My quote for that is full. I am not going to accept more applications.”
Rika turned that man down, but the alpha did not look discouraged.
If anything, his smile became even wider when he looked at Rika.
She was sure that something ridiculous was about to come out of this alpha’s mouth.
