Chapter 194: Ch 194: The bunch of flowers
Daniel had a worried and annoyed look on his face. It screamed that he knew what was happening around the town, but he did not intend to tell Rika what was happening.

“Sorry, kid, but I don’t know what is happening. Rocxx asked us to be on high alert and guard the territory. I just wanted to let you know that you also do not need to know more than this. You don’t want to get into trouble, right?”

Rika sighed at the apparent bate thrown in front of her.

But she needed to be more stupid to ignore the warning she was being levelled with.

Ultimately, she could only sigh and decided to let Daniel win this time. There was no point in asking him anything when his lips had been sealed shut by Rocxx.

He would not spill anything, no matter what Rika did to make him speak.

“I see. Let’s open our shop properly for today. Ah, I also need to tell you something. Do you remember that omega who came here and made a fuss on the day my friends were over? She’s dead now.”

Once more, Daniel’s expression did not change. But the older male turned to Rika and questioned her dryly.

“Which one of those omegas was it? We had…like a dozen or so enter our shop that day.”

Rika felt a little stupid for not clarifying the name of the person she talked to, but she could also see that Daniel was uninterested in learning more about the dead omega.

He could be weirdly detached from his surroundings when he wanted to be.

‘I wonder how much death Daniel has seen to make him so insensitive to it. But I guess I am not one to say much about it. After all, I didn’t feel anything when I heard that the omega that wanted to pick a fight with me died as well.’

The day was slow, so Rika did not expect them to get a customer. But fate had another plan for her, and the door to the shop opened.

Shuu immediately started barking as soon as the pup smelled the intruder. Rika felt a funny feeling, which told her not to walk toward the counter.

In hindsight, Rika should have listened to her gut and not walked out from where she was hiding. But she foolishly decided to listen to her brain and work the counter.

Her eyes met Zhu Li’s before Rika blinked and understood what was happening.

“Wow! This is a coincidence. I came here for work, but who knew I would run into you here, Rika? What else can you call it, but divine intervention? Even the gods are telling you to be my friend.”

Zhu Li stood in front of Rika with a smile on his face.

Just looking at that face made Rika want to punch it. However, she controlled herself because she did not want to lose a potential customer because of her rash actions.

‘Calm down, Rika. It is fine! You don’t need to worry about Zhu Li once you serve him.’

When looking at the dominant alpha, Rika calmed down and maintained a neutral face.

“What do you want to buy? And would you like to have a message written on it to go along with your flowers?”

Rika asked with a professional smile. She did not want to seem too strong, but it was tough not to crack in anger at this alpha.

“Hmm, Flowers, huh? I don’t like them, but I don’t mind them occasionally. Which ones are your favourite, Rika? Recommend them to me.”

Zhu Li asked in an almost flirty voice. He tried to reach out and hold Rika’s hand, but she pulled back before he made it that far.

“I suggest you buy these Saffron Corcous. I would have liked to offer better flowers, but those are orders only. This is the best I can provide you with right now. Would you like to take them?”

Rika did not offer a flower she liked, but one that was expensive.

Since Zhu Li was willing to irritate her like this, he might as well bear the financial burden.

“Hmm, but that flower is not pretty. I want something more beautiful so could you suggest it to me? Prince is not a factor for me.”

Zhu Li bragged about Rika and decided to stop pulling her punches.

“Then, how about Juliet Roses? It would be best if you waited around a week for the shipment, but we have some in stock. You can buy them if you want to.”

Rika offered, and Zhu Li finally looked satisfied.

“Sure, I will take a bouquet of 100 of these flowers. How much do I need to pay for it?”

The man asked in a satisfied voice. Rika quickly calculated the price of the whole thing.

“That will be around 1600 dollars, including taxes and other payments. Would you like to pay by cash or card?”

1600 was an astronomical amount of money to spend for someone, especially on something as simple as flowers.

As a public university student, Zhu Li should be unable to pay for these flowers. Rika expected him to back out immediately and not think about buying them.

But the alpha surprised Rika by not blinking an eye and pulling out his card to pay.

“I will pay by card. Here, you can scan this for me.”

The Alpha asked as he headed Rika his card.

Rika was slightly suspicious of Zhu Li’s intentions, but business was business.

Those flowers were quickly packed and ready to be taken by the man.

“Here. I have processed the money you needed to pay. The door to the outside is that way. I hope you have a nice day. Your date appreciated the flowers you got for them.”

Rika wanted this alpha gone, but Zhu Li decided to be a pain in the butt and not leave. Instead, he turned around and held the bouquet out toward Rika to take.

Suddenly, Rika wanted to run away from the shop and not look back.
