Chapter 195: Ch 195: Go back to your lane
“Here, this is for you. I want to buy other flowers for the person I am about to meet. But these flowers should not go to waste. So I want to give them to you and deepen our friendship. Will you accept these flowers?”

The alpha held the 100 Juliet Roses out for Rika to grab. It was too much for Rika, so she sighed before rubbing her temple.

“I am sorry, but I cannot take these flowers from you. That will be against the policy for this place. Now, would you like anything else?”

Rika’s voice was devoid of emotion as she spoke, starkly contrasting the desperation in her eyes as she looked at Daniel, silently pleading for his intervention.

Thankfully, the beta noticed Rika’s distress and stepped in, his willingness to help shining through his actions.

“Dear customer, please ask me for help regarding anything you want. Rika is about to leave for her break and can no longer accompany you.”

Daniel stepped into Rika’s place in front of Zhu Li.

If a smile could kill, then Daniel would be dead by now. That was how Zhu Li looked at him. But the beta still stood his ground and refused to back away.

“Hmm, there are a few obstacles for me to cross. But I don’t mind. Go, have your rest, Rika. I will see you tomorrow.”

Rika shivered at the friendly tone she heard before she quickly ran away from the confrontation. She did not want to be involved in whatever this man was planning.

Daniel watched Rika run away before he turned to look at the alpha in front of him with a blank look.

“So, what can I help you with, dear customer? I can tell that you already spent a lot of money on flowers. Why not take them to your meeting and make a good impression on your date? I am sure anyone would like to receive expensive flowers from a handsome man like you.”

There were too many jabs in Daniel’s words, but he was not holding back anymore. He wanted to annoy this alpha for making Rika feel uncomfortable.

Unfortunately for him, his strategy is not working as he intended.

“Hmm, but I don’t want to take these flowers to my date. I bought them because Rika recommended them to me. Would you please just give these to her? I will get going now.”

In the end, Zhu Li walked out of that shop 1600 dollars lighter but with nothing to show.

Daniel had never encountered such a man before and felt weirded out by Zhu Li’s behaviour.

“Is he gone now? Fuck! That man is a mess. I don’t know what he wants from me, but I feel bad whenever I look at him.”

Rika complained as she emerged from where she had been hiding all this time.

It had not been her break time, but that was the best excuse she could give to get rid of that man.

“You can come out now, Rika. Who was that man, and what did he want with you? I did not have a nice feeling about him.”

Daniel complained, and Rika agreed with him.

“I feel the same way about him. Something about that alpha does not sit right with me, but I can’t put my fingers on what it is. His mask is too much for me to handle.”

Rika sighed before she collapsed and put her hands on her face to rub her eyes.

Shuu had been breaking the whole time, and the poor puppy calmed down once Rika saw it beside it and petted it.

Although her worries seemed unfounded, Rika could not help but feel that something annoying was about to happen.

“What a pleasure to meet you, Young Master Rocxx Steinz. I did not expect you to welcome me with such open arms. But you should teach your dogs not to bite a stranger at the slightest provocation next time. They might live a longer and healthier life if you do that.”

Zhi Li stepped over the fallen body of Rocxx’s bodyguard as he entered the room.

All the other betas and alphas in the room looked tense as he walked further inside.

The only one who looked unaffected by Zhu Li’s pheramones as a dominant was Rocxx. And that was only because he had too much practice resisting Damian’s pheramones.

“Ah, so you finally made your way here after all. I heard from a bird that you spent 1600 dollars on flowers. What a shame you did not even bring one for me to admire.”

Rocxx pouted and spoke in a teasing voice. But there was no denying the danger his words were dripped in.

His older subordinates were used to Rocxx’s attitude, but it took the recruits a while to see their boss acting like old pals with the intruder.

“Hmmm, I did not want to. Those flowers were a bribe for my new friend to accept me. But I should have gone with another approach instead. I wonder if my friend appreciated getting flowers from someone like me. What a shame, right?”

Zhu Li asked as he took a seat in front of Rocxx.

Rocxx’s attitude changed from calm to overwhelming the second he sat down.

The older alpha knew he could not overpower a dominant with his pheramones, but he would also not let Zhu Li walk all over him like this.

“What do the triads want with us? As far as I was informed, you people had no intention of interfering in our fear when you asked us to stay here for some time. So stay in your lane, or you will worsen our relations.”

Rocxx stopped playing nice. His expression is no longer ‘fake cheerfulness’ but a glare. He even stabbed a knife into the table in front of him to look more intimidating.

The only thing he wanted to do was give Zhu Li a warning. But the alpha did not look intimidated in the least.
