Chapter 196: Ch 196: The plan
“Calm down. Believe it or not, I am not here to cause you trouble. I am here to help you out. Do you know what this is?”

Zhu Li held a small bottle with white powers inside it for Rocxx to see.

At first, it did not look to be anything out of the ordinary. It just seemed like an ordinary drug that the mafia usually circulated to the public.

But the second Rocxx opened the lid, one omega collapsed into a heap and began to pant.

The sweet smell of heat filled the air, and it was not difficult to see that the only omega in the room had gone into heat with just a tiny sniff.

“As you can see, this drug is dangerous. It is a ridiculous substance that can cause the omegas to collapse as soon as they take a small sniff. That was why we banned this drug and its circulation.”

“However, we recently got intel that some of our higher-ups were involved in shady deals, and they managed to smuggle this drug out. So, I decided to come here and crack down at the source of it.”

Zhu Li held his hands up to show he was harmless and only there to help.

But despite his openness and cooperative nature, Rocxx could not help but feel suspicious of him.

And he had every reason to think like that as well.

“I see! This is going to be a problem for us soon. However, can you assure me that you had nothing to do with all this? You could be acting as a distraction to divert my attention from the real dealers.”

Rocxx asked in a flat voice. Whatever he was feeling, the older alpha decided to hide it behind a mask.

Zhu Li did not look worried or scared of him.

“Hmm, are you asking me why you should believe me? The answer is simple – because you have no other choice. I am your best option for maintaining diplomatic connections with the triads.”

“If you act on your own and a problem arises, the triads will use it as a diplomatic ground to interfere. Are you sure you want to risk that possibility?”

Zhu Li asked, and Rocxx admitted that this man was good. He knew what to say to get Rocxx to bend to his will.

“Tsk, fine! I guess I no longer have a choice but to accept your help. So! What do you have planned so far? I am sure you are not approaching without one in mind.”

Rocxx asked with a tired sigh. He was sure he was getting into trouble by accepting Zhu Li’s help. But what other choice did he have?

As much as he wanted to act alone, the triads were not opponents to scoff at.

“Good! It is nice to see that we are both on the same page. I had a plan prepared, and as if the heavens wanted that plan to work, I got the best piece to complement my plan. Would you like to listen to what I have planned?”

Rocxx had sudden chills at the words he heard. His instincts told him to say ‘no’ and deny this plan even before he heard it.

However, he did not yet have a justification, so he had to hear what Zhu Li had prepared for him.

“Fine! Tell me what you have planned. I hope I do not regret my decision.”

Rocxx was already regretting his decision, and Zhu Li had not opened his mouth yet. But once he did, Rocxx had to stop him immediately.

“I met this beta recently who could pass as an omega. She goes to my University, and her name is Rika-”

“No, wait! Stop! We cannot do that. If you are planning to use her, then think again. Anyone else will do, just not Rika.”

Rocxx quickly smacked Zhu Li’s idea and emphasised that they should not use Rika as their target.

He did not explain his reasons, but he hoped that Zhu Li would hear the desperation in his voice and figure out what Rocxx was not saying.

“That’s some strong denial you gave me. Would you mind explaining your reason along with it?”

Zhu Li asked, but Rocxx only shook his head.

“I cannot explain to you why it cannot be Rika. But if you target her, you will find yourself in trouble. She has some big people behind her.”

Rocxx explained, and Zhu Li finally settled down.

“Hmm, that is unfortunate. Since that’s the case, I will circle her out of the equation for now. Let’s look for someone else to take this role and infiltrate the enemy lines.”

Zhu Li gave in, but Rocxx did not feel as relieved as he was supposed to feel.

He could not explain why but had a sinking feeling about everything. It did not feel as if Zhu Li had given in and backed away.

“Are you sure you will be fine? I can accompany you home if you like me to.”

Daniel asked Rika with a worried look on his face.

He was worried that the weirdo from before would show up and cause Rika trouble.

Rika felt touched but annoyed by this overprotectiveness at the same time.

“I will be fine, Daniel. I am not a child. And I also have Shuu with me. I will make it back home safely, so don’t you worry.”

Rika promised before she left. She knew that Daniel would continue to pester her if she chose to remain there.

She had yet to walk very far when Rika started to feel uncomfortable. She could not explain the reason why, but her body felt weird.

Just when Rika was about to pass an alley, she saw it – an omega being harassed by two alphas.

It seemed as if the omega was in heat, but he did not want the advancements of those pressuring alphas.

Rika wanted to ignore this scene, but her nature did not allow her to do that.

With a sigh, Rika grabbed her suppressing needles and decided to sneak up on the alphas first.
