Chapter 200: Ch 200: Come on, Like me
Rika had to walk a long way to get back home, but her body decided that it was too tired to move.

Shuu somehow noticed this, and he led Rika right to the side table and forced her to sit down.

Once she settled down, the pup pawed against her leg to be picked up and put on the bench.

Rika did not hesitate to do just that, and now she had a pup on her lap that wanted to cuddle with her.

“Hey Shuu, do you think I am doing the right thing by backing out like this and not helping Zhu Li? The right thing to do would be to help out. But It doesn’t feel safe.”

Rika complained as she kept the puppy close.

Shuu did not respond to her, but he licked her face to make Rika feel better. It worked well, making Rika feel more relaxed and releasing her tension.

“You are right. There is no point in getting involved with all this mess. I should focus on what I need to do instead. Let’s see! I should start heading back home now.”

Thankfully, there were no more attacks on Rika while she walked back home.

She made it back in time for dinner (it was a miracle), and her bed called her name as soon as Rika saw it.

It was comfortable and pleasant to feel under her body. But the silence in the room worried Rika.

She quickly looked up, hoping to see Charon doing something she liked. But Charon was already asleep.

It worried Rika how much the older beta was sleeping, but doctors had said that this was an average side effect of her medicine.

Usually, the older beta compensated for her lack of sleep during evening naps, but that was no longer possible since classes had resumed. So that was why she was sleeping early.

“I should go to sleep as well. I hope Zhu Li has the decency to leave me alone now that he has been rejected.”

Rika hoped this would happen, but she realised it was a futile wish when she opened her eyes the following day and walked to her class.

People were still looking at her and pointing at her.

But this time, they were accompanied by loud sneers and jokes.

Rika could hear them all speaking, but she did not know the content of what they were talking about. But it was better for her like this. At least she did not have to hear them talk crap about her anymore.

Just when she thought she had become immune to it all, Zhu Li decided to make her situation worse by placing his arms around Rika’s shoulder and pulling her closer.

“Rika, what a coincidence we met in front of the gate like this. It seems like fate! I’ll be sure to accompany you inside to your classes. Would you like to spend a day together with me?”

The alpha asked as he tried to get closer and closer to Rika.

It was bad enough that he was creeping on her personal space, but now he had to lean his weight over her as well. It made Rika feel more and more annoyed.

‘Hold it inside. You don’t need to show Zhu Li that he is getting to me. I am sure he will get bored of my lack of reaction soon and-‘

“Wow, you are short. It is easy for me to put my arms on you and rest. You are so short that someone can mistake you for a child.”

That was the last draw for Rika.

She could take it if you made fun of her nature or tester her patience.

But trying to touch her hair was a no-go for her. Rika did not like it when she felt like that, and she quickly made Zhu Li realise that when she grabbed his offending arm and twisted it behind his back.

Rika knew she could only do this because Zhu Li had let his guard down and did not want to fight her.

But Rika would still take her victory in whatever way she could get it.

“Ouch! Fuck! I understand, alright? I will not try to test your patience again, so please forgive me. Rika, it hurts. Let me go now.”

Zhu Li was being dramatic. She could feel how solid his muscles were under her hand when she pinched it.

There was no way this alpha was hurting just because Rika pinched him. He was behaving like this because he was being dramatic.

Rika quickly let the alpha go once she realised everyone was looking at her and Zhu Li with a curious glance.

She did not want to be involved in any more drama, so she quickly decided to walk away without speaking more.

However, Zhu Li decided to show why he was a pain in her ass and follow after her.

“Rika, wait! Are you heading to class? Let’s go ahead and head together. I want to get to know you more. Won’t you allow me to know you more as well?”

Zhu Li asked, and once again, his words needed to be more specific to be understood.

“No thanks. I just wanted to let you know that I am not interested in what you asked me. If you want to get closer to someone, choose an omega who will appreciate you. Stop coming after me before I report you to the police.”

Rika was well aware that her threat had no power.

Due to his connections, no police could touch Zhu Li. But being able to threaten him made Rika feel better, so she still spoke these words.

Zhu Li pouted once he heard Rika’s threat.uninterested

“Aww, don’t be like that. I want to get close to you. Come on! Don’t push me away.”

If anyone saw this scene, they would have thought that Zhu Li fancied Rika and was persuading her to change her mind.

But Rika knew what this alpha truly wanted—for her to help him with the drug case—and that she was not interested in doing it.
