“L-Let go of me. I will tell you all you need to know. Just let me breathe easy for a minute here. Fuck! What’s with this inhuman strength?”

Zhu Li clawed at the hand holding his throat, and it finally worked. The pressure lightened just enough for him to be able to speak but not be able to get out of his hold. He was locked where he was.

This alpha was not just any adversary. He was a trained assassin skilled in interrogation. If it came down to a fight, Zhu Li knew he was up against a formidable opponent with only a 10% chance of winning.

But even if he were to go down, he wanted to go down swinging. That was the kind of man he was.

His pride as an alpha would not allow him to settle down for anything less than a win against his opponent.

The other alpha gave Zhu Li some leeway, which he used to grab a foothold before attacking the other alpha on his vulnerable side.

His kick connected with an impact, and he expected to be thrown away with force.

But the other alpha did not flinch or lighten his hold. The alpha in front of him had a solid posture, making it seem that the impact from that kick did not even exist.

“A-Are you kidding me? You did not even flinch. Are you even a human?”

Zhu Li questioned, only for the other alpha to grab his hand and twist his arm at his side.

It hurt.

He needed to be in good condition if he wanted to save Rika. Every second he wasted here was another second Rika would have to endure wherever she was.

“Fine! I will tell you what happened. I need to find out where Rika is, too. We were supposed to meet here, but she was nowhere to be found when I arrived.”

Zhu Li confessed what was happening.

He felt this man asked him about Rika because he cared for the female. If that were the case, he would have been better off recruiting this man to help find Rika.

“You were to meet her here? What is your relationship with Rika? If you lie, I will break your arm.”

The dark-haired dominant alpha asked as he kept a tighter hold on Zhu Li’s arm.

It was truly beginning to hurt, and Zhu Li wanted everything to stop.

“We don’t have any relationship. I just wanted to use Rika’s abilities to help me out. Whatever interest I hold in her is only to that extent. I swear! As an alpha, I only go for omegas. Please believe me. A beta like her does not interest me.”

Zhu Li mixed his truths and lies. But in his defence, his instincts were screaming at him not to say he liked Rika.

He had a sneaking suspicion that the alpha in front of him had a ‘special’ relationship with Rika, and Zhu Li understood that he would be in trouble if he tried to interfere.

“Tsk, you are still lying. But I will take your word if you say you are uninterested in her. Now, tell me in detail what happened here.”

Zhu Li finally had a chance to regain his breath and composure. He coughed to open his throat again before adequately looking at the alpha.

That face looked familiar. Zhu Li was sure he had seen that man before.

‘No way! That is Damian Rodric, the next head of the Rodric Mafia. I now understand why everyone is so afraid of him. Standing before him is too much pressure for even a dominant like me. What kind of anomaly is this man?’

When Rocxx said Rika had ‘big names’ behind her, he scoffed at him and did not pay attention. But now he understood he made a mistake by not paying attention to those words.

“I will tell you what happened here. But you’ll have to promise you won’t reply once I tell you what happened. Can you do that much for me?”

Zhu Li knew he did not have the upper hand here.

Not only was he in the enemy territory, but he was also likely cornered.

But he would only do it by doing his best to survive. He would even beg if he had to if it meant he would be kept alive longer.

He quickly spilt everything he knew before Damian, and the older alpha listened impatiently.

By the time Zhu Li finished, he had spilt everything he could tell the other male and waited for a response from the other alpha.

Zhu Li did not even grace him with an answer. He just pulled out his phone and made a call.

“Investigate the club I am at. Check recordings. I want you to learn everything you can about what happened tonight.”

Damian did not specify what happened on the phone, but Zhu Li felt his subordinates understood what he had asked them to do.

The alpha startled to walk away from Zhu Li, causing him to quicken his step to catch up.

“W- What are you planning on doing now? Those people could have taken Rika anywhere! Do you know what we can do to track her down?”

Zhu Li asked the older male, but Damian still needed to give him an answer.

The older male was ignoring Zhu Li, but somehow, the younger alpha could not bring himself to question the other or be angry at him.

He felt disappointed in himself for losing Rika. He should have stayed with her when she said she wanted to go in alone.

‘Shit! Will this sour the relationships between the mafia and the triads? The elders would kill me if that happened. But I can’t possibly ask Damian Rodric such a question now. He looks ready to kill someone.’

If Zhu Li opened his mouth, he was sure the dead person would be him.
