Chapter 225: Ch 225: That is not a pup-
Regulas Ford was an alpha Natasha had trouble getting along with. But that was her problem, and she did not need to let her troubles get to her.
His confident demeanour, a clear display of his authority, made Natasha pause and consider his perspective.
“I am listening. If you want to tell me something, this is your chance. I promise I will give what you say a genuine listen.”
Natasha promised in the heat of the moment. She instantly regretted her decision as the man let out an amused chuckle before he turned to look back at the alpha.
“Thank you, Alpha Natasha. Your kind words have made my day better. As for my proposal…it’s not as grand as I am making it out to be. I want to take advantage of your kindness.”
“As you know, my daughter is similar in age to your daughter and is a beta too. She took after my lovely life, and I could not have been happier for my daughter. Since our kids are so similar in age, I thought having them compete for the same position would be a good choice.”
“That way, no one will complain about this being nepotism, right?”
Regulas Ford was a cunning man, and everyone saw his true colours.
He was using Rika as a stepping stone to establish his daughter. People knew his daughter well since she’d been around the office before, and she knew her way around her work.
Compared to her, Rika was a mystery to most of the people.
The alpha executive had chosen an excellent stage to present his daughter to these people. He was well aware that Alpha Goodwill had to agree with him for the sake of her reputation. There was no other way for her to maintain her impeccable mask.
What he failed to consider was her stubborn and unyielding attitude.
What he considered shameful did not have the same meaning for Natasha.
“No. This position is neither a competition nor an open source. Rika will be heading this position, and that will be final. If anyone has any complaint, they can resign, and I will get someone else to fill their place.”
Natasha gave them all an out, but no one was brave enough to take it.
They all looked at each other awkwardly, pushing each other to make the first move. But no one felt as humiliated as Regulas did at that moment.
‘All these years of hard work and sucking up to Alpha Goodwill, only to have this outcome. I will never forgive her for this. I will find a way to fuck her over.’
Natasha was well aware of what her staff was thinking. She had made these people become what they were over the years of working together.
But even if she knew what was happening, she could not interfere. All she could do was prepare the stage for Rika to show her skills, and she hoped she would agree to work there.
After all, there was no knowing how Rika would react to this news.
…
“So, when did you pick this puppy up, and where did you get it from? Can you give me the name of the shop and credentials? We need to write up a palace for fraud.”
Rika blinked at the doctor’s words, now alternating between looking at the puppy and the doctor with an awkward expression.
She did not expect to hear these words today.
“Is something wrong with Shuu? Is he chronically sick? But he seems fine, and he’s also eating a lot.”
Rika asked the doctor while reaching out to play with Shuu.
Her actions made the doctor sign in regret (mainly because he did not get an answer to his first question).
“Well, I can tell you that this one is a fine specimen for its species. These breeds of wolves do tend to grow quite big. I would ask you to release him into the wild, but I can tell that it’s already too late.”
The doctor sighed as he looked down at the pup nesting in Rika’s arms. If looks could kill, then the doctor would have been five feet under already.
Rika blinked in shock before she looked down and pulled Shuu up, putting her hands under his front two legs and then pulling him up.

“He’s a wolf. Should I keep him? I found him abandoned on one of my family properties almost two months ago. Do you think he’ll be able to survive in the wild alone?”
Rika felt worried but determined to do what was best for the pup.
She loved Shuu, but Rika would be the first to admit she was not a good owner. She often left him alone, and someone else cared for Shuu’s needs.
With a cheerful voice, the doctor quickly threw water on Rika’s plans.
“Well, you can try to get rid of the pup, but I can tell it is too late. He’s imprinted on you and thinks of you as its pack. It will try to return to you even if you left it alone.”
The doctor assured Rika, causing her to sigh in regret.
She looked at the innocent pup in her arms and felt taking responsibility was better.
“I see. I guess we are sticking together, Shuu. Is there anything I need to look out for with Shuu?”
Rika asked with her fists clenched.
‘Oh god! How will I explain this to our dorm lady and everyone else? Will they allow me to keep Shuu? I would have asked someone to take Shuu in, but I don’t know anyone like that. Damian is the closest I can think of, but he’s not here now.’
Rika panicked a little, but she calmed herself down quickly.
She decided to cross that bridge when the time came.
If nothing else worked, depending on her mother one last time and asking her to find territory in the forest was a good idea. Shuu would not always have to be confined in the house.
