Chapter 227: Ch 227: Father, not mother
“Rika, you have a mail for you. I did not open it here, but I think you should open it soon.”
The dorm lady offered Rika her mail, and Rika snatched it away before Shuu could jump and snatch it from her fingers.
Her pup had learned some new tricks, and he was (unfortunately) tall enough to reach Rika’s hand at standard height.
She needed to be careful about what she allowed in Shuu’s reach because the pup was too curious for his good.
“That logo…it’s the Goodwill Logo, right? Is it a job offer? No way! Right? I mean, you have not even graduated. Well, fuck that! You have not even completed your first year. It just started. How is that possible?”
Fey asked, her eyes wide in shocked awe. She eyes Rika’s letter with envy and curiosity.
“Stop it, Fey! Rika’s family worked for the Goodwill’s, so she’s known them personally for a while. I am sure that this is their way of showing appreciation for all the work she did for them. You won’t be able to replicate her success.”
Charon walked down the stairs and noticed what was going on.
Her face did not look that good today, and Rika had heard her toss and turn the whole night. But Rika wanted to ask Charon what happened.
Charon’s words made Fey back down with a disappointed look.
“Is that so? Darn it! Here, I thought I would get a shortcut for success or something, but I guess things are never that simple in real life. Well, I am happy for your success. I also feel jealous, but my overall emotion is happiness.”
Fey assured Rika again and again. She sounded almost paranoid when she spoke, nearly as if she did not want Rika even to consider she had been lying to her.
It made Rika feel awkward, so she took a step back. Shuu noticed Rika’s discomfort and decided to stand before her to protect her.
Fey had not expected Shuu to growl at her, and her shock made her fall backwards.
She was lucky since Flourite caught her, but this could have been dangerous.
This all made Rika sigh before she looked at Shuu with a disappointed look in her eyes.
“Shuu, you’re being a bad boy. It would be best if you did not scare Fey like that. She takes care of you and feeds you. Now, apologies to her right now.”
Rika forces Shuu to bow to the female in front of her.
Shuu looked uninterested, but he did as Rika asked him to.
“It’s fine! I’m fine! That just startled me when Shuu decided to charge at me like that. My heart skipped so many beats that I could not count them all. But it’s fine now. I’m fine now.”
Fey assured, but Rika still felt guilty over what happened.
She would need to find a way to make it up to Fey later. But for now, Rika is required to prepare for tomorrow.
‘Do I have any formal office clothes? Shit! I didn’t pack any of them. Should I ask my mother to send me some? Or maybe I should visit my family and get more clothes? I will need a month of clothes to get me through this.’
Rika sighed as she panicked. Panicked, she forgot to tell the dorm what she learned about Shuu.
But in her defence, a lot happened, and it never seemed like the ‘right’ time for her to bring Shuu up. So, it was not my fault this happened.
…
“Grounded! I can’t believe even my mother did not hear me out before grounding me. Don’t they care about what I had to say? Why did they not believe me when I said this was not my fault?”
Suzie bit her lip as she tried to think of a way to leave her room.
However, all her doors were locked, and the servants were strictly ordered not to let Suzie out.
“My only way to get out of here would be through Mark. But I am sure that he’s angry at me about what happened. Who else can I-”

One more person in this house could never deny Suzie what she wanted and had not come to visit her yet.
“Father will listen to me. If I explain what happened to me and how it is not my fault, I am sure that my father will get me out and take me to grandma’s house. But how do I get him to visit me?”
Suzie was conflicted, but then she got a great idea.
The next time a maid came to give Suzie food, Suzie made a pained face and refused to eat. She was sure that it would make the maid feel worried for her.
As expected, panic surged across the Maid’s face, causing her to look scared and paranoid. She was the perfect victim for Suzie to prey upon.
“You can take this food back. I am not in a mood to eat anything right now.”
Suzie complained, causing the maid to pale even further and flutter around.
“Should I call for a doctor? Do you feel sick right now? Do you need me to call Alpha Goodwill?”
The maid asked in a worried voice.
Suzie knew she could not allow the maid to call her mother. If that happened, her bluff would be called, and punishment would worsen.
“NO! There is no need to call for a mother. Just get Father to come and visit me. I need him by my side the most right now. You can do that much for me, right?”
Suzie looked at her maid with a clear message in her eyes. It made the maid panic, but she quickly recovered and did as asked.
Even the maid found it odd how Suzie chose to call her father instead of her mother, but questioning her was not something the maid was paid to do.
Besides, Suzie’s pheromones smelled weird and sick, which also felt repulsive to the maid.
But whatever was causing it, she had no time or patience to worry about it.
