Chapter 238: Ch 238: Don’t push my buttons
“You little…shit! What is all this? I asked you to finish your work before you went back home yesterday. So why is it all unfinished? We are behind schedule because of you.”
The omega gritted her teeth as she cursed Rika out. Her words were making Rika out to be the culprit who was holding her and the team back.
Rika blinked at the omega in front of her before she decided to make her stance clear.
“I would have done my work, but doing overtime is not in my agreement. Besides, no one told me ‘how’ to do my work, so how could I ever finish it? What if I made a grave mistake and all the company data was wiped off?”
Rika listed her grievances, but she remained calm about them. She did not get angry or raise her voice back at her superior.
That complaint started a chain reaction, and the omega went red-faced before clenching his fist hard.
“You little shit! Don’t try to be cocky with me! This was all supposed to be data entry…it’s not rocket science. All you needed was to spend some time on it and be done. It’s not that hard of a task to accomplish!”
“But I was not given any data to enter, nor was I told the format I needed to enter it. How would I know where the files were?”
Rika made valid points, but the omega made up her mind about Rika, and she would not change it for anything.
Even Rika knew that all her defenses were useless against the illogical hate she received.
“Well, that is not my problem. You should have known all this before you applied for the job here. Oh! But that would be too much trouble, right? It’s just better to use connections…tsk, just come with me to the managing office. I need to explain to them why we are behind on work now.
You had better behave immediately and apologize when we get there, alright? You are the cause behind what happened anyway, so you have no right to be angry, no matter what happens.”
The omega kept yapping, and everyone else also looked concerned. Rika could tell that the situation was getting out of hand fast.
“Hey, sis, calm down. The situation is not that serious for you to chew the intern out like this. We all make mistakes when we are new-.”
“Shut up! You are not the one who needs to explain to our boss why we are late for work, are you? Just focus on finishing your quota for today and be done with it. As for you! You come with me.”
The omega dragged Rika by her wrist in front of everyone and even through the hallway.
Rika could have resisted being dragged away but saw no point in protesting against her superior.
She could tell that things had been building up to be this way since yesterday. It was only a matter of time before this would have happened anyway.
Rika’s eyes met Luna Ford’s started one across the hallway. The beta looked concerned for Rika and even asked if she needed help.
Rika just shook her head as ‘no’ since she did not want the other beta to be involved with this mess. She could take care of herself…for the most part. Rika did not need help from anyone.
“Tsk, don’t be troublesome in front of our boss. Just keep quiet and accept what you did wrong. That way, we won’t waste more time here than necessary.”
Darline informed Rika before she forced the management door open.
People did not even bother to look up when Darling entered the office. They were used to her barging in whenever she wanted to.
“The director is in his office. Should I tell him that you are here to meet him again?”
The managing director’s PA looked bored to see Darling. She also knew what she needed to do to get her going and out of her hair faster.
Darling made an annoyed fact at the beta secretary, and jealousy shone in her eyes. But she was quick to mask it and show an arrogant attitude.
“Hump! Do what you want to. But appointments are only made by losers. The managing director would never mind me coming to see him.”
The omega was confident, but Rika could not help but notice how everyone shifted their eyes away from her with an uncomfortable look.
‘I see. So, I am not the only one who finds this person frustrating. She must be the managing director’s hidden mistress or something. I’ll inform Mother to keep an eye on that man. If he’s getting distracted at work because of his mistress, that is not good for our company.’
Rika did not care for this company, so she said that. But she did care about her mother and what she was going through to some extent.

“We are here. Remember, you must admit your guilt, and we can both be out of here in record time. Don’t embarrass me, and we shall be fine in there.”
The omega opened the door and entered the managing director’s office as she owned it.
“Boss, I need to speak with you about why we will submit our work late today. Here’s what she has to say.”
The Omega was quick to put Rika forward to save her hide. But Rika did not take this lying down.
If this omega wanted a fight with Rika, she would get a fight in return.
‘Fine! I should play around with you since this is what you want.
“Yeah, I have something to say to you, managing director. Do you know that overtime and harassment are not in my contract? I would appreciate it if you would control the employees in your department not to bully me. I don’t usually have a temper, but they push my buttons here.”
Rika complained, causing her omega superior to go stiff in surprise.
