Chapter 246: Ch 246: Not fired…but worse
‘I-I’ll have to start from the bottom? I don’t think I can do that! No! Someone like me does not deserve that!’
The omega panicked in her mind, but she somehow remained calm and composed. She took a sharp breath before pressing her body against Mark’s to seduce him into falling for her and forgiving her.
“Y-You master, please don’t be so angry with me! I promise you that I will do better. I can even promise you this in secret if you want me to-!”
The omega tried again as she tried to get closer to Mark and let out her subtle scent. But the reaction this time was even worse than the last time she tried.
Mark had been patient the last time she tried to seduce him, but he was livid this time, and he immediately grabbed the female omega’s arm and held it in a bruising manner.
“You are pissing me off! Do you want to be sued and thrown out on the streets? If not, then go away right now! I am not in a mood to talk to you about anything.”
Mark complained before he stood up and sent a message to the section chief to discipline this female.
It made the omega’s face whiter than snow, and she immediately knew this was the end for her.
Whatever career she wanted to build was all over for her now.
“I…. this is…”
“Miss, please come with me. You are in shock right now, so we must treat you.”
Mark watched as that omega was dragged out of his sight swiftly.
The alpha who dragged the poor omega out likely had no admirable intentions with her. Mark would have stepped forward to save her in most cases, but not this time.
His temper got the best of him, and Mark ended up biting his concern back, letting his emotions do the talking.
*Sigh*
“Mother will have a breakdown if she ever hears what happened here. She decided to put Rika in that unit after all.”
The alpha felt terrible for his mother, but his anger toward her and the managing staff was much higher than his worry for his mother.
That’s why Mark started an investigation to determine whether there had been bullying in the office or if this was a one-off case. In either case, it could not be allowed!
“Mark, my boy! So here you were! How did the meeting with Alpha Steinz go? Did she return already? I wanted to have her meet my capable daughter, Luna, here. Have you met Luna yet? She’s better than any alpha or omega out there.
She was born a genius. Why don’t you test her if you still don’t believe me? Ask her anything, and she will answer.”
Mark looked at the beta Mr Ford was introducing to him.
He could see how uncomfortable his daughter felt being the centre of attention. She shuffled from one foot to another to combat her nervousness, but her eyes were intense, and they looked clearly at Mark.
They reminded him of Rika, immediately making something in Mark’s stomach soften.
“Young Master, what are you thinking about? I know! Why don’t you get to know my daughter? I’m sure she will be good company for you.”
Mr. Ford all but pushed his daughter toward Mark. It was too much, but the beta seemed used to it at this point; she did not even complain as she endured her father’s rough treatment.
The older alpha walked away just as quickly as he had walked in. Pushing his daughter on Mark was the only thing he wanted to do, and he did that quickly.
Mark reached out to call for the older man back, But he awkwardly held his hand out without anyone reaching back.
“I’m sorry for my father’s rude behaviour! He can be too much sometimes. I hope he has not offended you, Alpha Goodwill.”
Luna quickly picked up where her father had left off in his speech, and she looked genuinely embarrassed by her father’s behaviour.
Looking at her was like looking at Rika a bit. They both felt the same loneliness that called for Mark’s help.

It made him unable to look away from Luna, and he reached out to ruffle her hair in a friendly manner.
“Your father might be a menace to this society, but he balanced it by birthing someone bright like you, right? Thank you for thinking of me and trying to cheer me up. Not a lot of people do that for an alpha.”
Luna’s face reddened, and she stumbled to force any more words out.
She could not even look Mark in the eye because she knew she could not control her impulsive nature and that something would happen.
“I-I…should head out now! I mean, I should head back to my father now. It was nice to meet you, Alpha Mark Goodwill. I hope you remain in good health and we meet again.”
The beta finally left, her eyes wide, and confusion made them hazy.
Mark watched the beta run away with a chuckle. This was cute and a reminder of the relationship he wanted with Rika.
But it was too late to bend some broken bridges.
‘At least I still have a chase to mend whatever is left of our relationship. I should go and visit Rika…which hospital did she end up at again? Will Emily Steinz even tell me if I ask her? I guess asking her PA is the only choice.’
Mark sighed and got ready to call the omega and get that stubborn fool’s details.
That PA would give Mark hell, for sure. He did that every time Mark called him, mainly because this man had been in love with Emily for years, but the alpha never looked at him the same way.
‘Ugh! This alpha should understand that this is not my fault! If he wants someone to blame, then he should blame Rika! No, wait! It’s better if he hates me instead. Rika does not need any more problems in her life.
