Chapter 252: Ch 252: Go in the cabin
Rika headed toward the front desk to cloak in, but she felt nervous. Her senses were at an all-time high alert, and Rika could not calm down. Something was going to go wrong! She was sure about it.

She handed her ID for checking, and her heart skipped a beat when the light turned green. Rika has been approved and recorded for attendance today.

But that did not make that annoying feeling inside her go away. If anything, it became even worse, and Rika felt herself biting her nails with irritation.

She knew she needed to stop, which was unhealthy, but Rika could not care. That was how much her feelings bothered her.

Rika quietly took her working bench and forced her body to relax. Otherwise, Rika was afraid she would be unable to do any work.

When Rika was sure she had settled down, someone knocked on her back to get her attention.

It was another beta, one that had ignored Rika up until now. But he looked curious to know something, making Rika nervous.

“Can I help you?”

Rika asked in a whisper, not daring to speak louder than that and attract the attention of others around her.

Her reply made the beta chuckle, and Rika immediately wanted to take that question back. It did not feel…as safe as it should have to speak out loud.

“Is it true that you did something to get Amanda demoted? I heard that she was officially demoted to an intern once more. Was it because of your connections?”

The beta asked all this in one breath. His curious eyes continued to look at Rika for an answer she did not have.

“I…don’t know what you are talking about. I was rushed to the hospital yesterday because I was not feeling well. This is the first time I’ve heard about this happening.”

Rika confessed, and she was not lying when she said that.

This was her first time hearing about the ‘Darling’ being demoted, but Rika was not shocked.

Mark and Emily had been there when Rika collapsed. The older alpha would have acted anyway, even if someone other than Rika had collapsed. He could not afford to have their company’s reputation tarnished for something like this.

“No, I know what happened and what the official story is. But I’m asking *you* what happened because you must know something juicy. Come on! Spill the details about-”

The beta could not finish because the ‘omega’ in question, Amanda, walked over to them before putting her heavy purse on Rika’s table.

Her eyes looked fierce, and Rika felt terrible about this encounter.

She did not want to ask this question, but Rika was afraid she had no other choice.

“Can I help you, senior? Is there a reason you sought me out this early morning?”

Rika asked Amanda with a hesitant voice.

She was sure Amanda was not here to apologise to her about what happened yesterday, so Rika was unsure what this omega wanted with her.

“Get off this machine! I’ll be using this PC starting today when I need to work. In the meantime, you can go and find another one.”

Amanda proposed before she began to place her things out of her bag.

Everyone stopped to look at what they were doing and could not help but shake their heads.

Rika felt slightly irritated at being ignored and told to switch her machine, but this was advantageous. This way, Rika could not be forced to endure the questioning looks people around her were giving her.

“Alright, I’ll switch my workstation…but where should I work? I don’t see another working station around…”

Rika asked as she got up, but Amanda’s grin made her feelings come back in full force.

“Ah, you can go and use my cabin! Since you are eager to use your connections and take advantage of the situation, you can also use that place as your own. Who would be foolish enough to speak aloud if you do that?”

Amanda was making her situation Rika’s fault by speaking like this; everyone knew this. But no one wanted to face her or point it out.

Even Rika did not want to speak up against Amanda, so she stood and walked toward that closed door.

“Amanda, are you sure this will be fine? Rika is new here, and she does not know how things operate. She will not be able to get any work done-”

“Oh, please! As if she has any skills to help us out. She’s here because of her connections and nepotism. She will not be fired, even if she does not do anything. On the other hand, we need to work hard to maintain our position in this company.”

Rika would have been hurt more if these words had not been valid. But since they were true, Rika only felt a sting before she relaxed and let them wash over her head.

‘Ugh, I only need to deal with this for less than a month, and then I will be free. But what am I supposed to do now? I did not get any work to be done…’

Rika sighed and decided to do whatever she wanted now. She had an excellent plan for spending her day.

‘Well, I might play games since I have nothing else to do. The worst thing that can be done to me is getting fired! That would be an ideal scenario for me.’

That was how Rika ended up sitting in a chair inside that A.C. cabin and playing games. No one stopped her from doing what she wanted in there.

Meanwhile, the omega who wanted to get Rika in trouble continued to smirk and laugh to herself. She felt giddy to see that Rika had fallen into her trap. Soon, everyone would know that Rika was a troublemaker, and she would be fired.

‘Soon! I will have my peaceful place at the top back soon. Tsk, wait and watch, Rika. You will fall from your thrown.’
