Chapter 264: Ch 264: This is a dangerous situaion
Luna continued to drag Rika outside to buy stuff.
Rika knew she was forgetting something important, but her brain could not recall what she wanted.
Luckily for her, Luna took out her phone and made a note, reminding Rika that she had yet to grab her phone and wallet.
“Excuse me, but can we make a small trip to my section before we go out? I need to grab my phone to pay for things.”
Luna made a face that said she did not like it, but she complied with Rika’s choice and returned inside with her.
Once in her section, Rika immediately headed for her bag, but she felt terrible about touching it.
There was a weird powder smeared around her bag, and Rika’s instincts warned her not to touch it.
“Rika, did you find your bag? What’s wrong? Are you not going to grab it? Do you want me to grab it for you?”
Luna asked and reached out for the bag, but Rika grabbed her arm before Luna could grab that bag and get that strange powder all over her.
“I think someone tampered with my bag. That white powder does not seem to be something normal. This prank is going too far now.”
Rika felt slightly irritated when she looked at the powder before her and smelled it.
A barely noticeable tingle in her body made Rika shiver. But she could feel that it had the potential to grow into something bigger if she gave it some time.
“Luna, can I borrow your phone? I need to make a call.”
Rika asked the older beta for a favour, and Luna complained enough to let Rika borrow her phone without any questions.
The phone felt burning hot in Rika’s hands, and she felt annoyed that she had to dial that familiar number and call it. But this was no longer a matter of her safety alone.
If Rika was right, the white powder smeared on her bag felt like a stimulant.
It did not feel strong, but even the smallest dose of such a thing was enough to cause chaos around the office.
Rika did not expect Mark to pick up an unknown number, but with the number of exes her mother had and the kind of person he was, she was not surprised to see that he picked up this call.
“Who is calling me, and what do you want?”
Mark asked in a rude voice. Rika was familiar with this tone when she talked to her brother, so she did not feel awkward talking to him.
“I need you in my section as soon as possible, Mark. Also, take your suppressants before you come here. I think there is a safety hazard in our section.”
Rika did not bother introducing herself and got straight to the point.
By now, Luna had started to put two-on-two together and quickly blocked access to this area.
Mark went entirely over the phone, and Rika was about to repeat herself when he suddenly spoke up.
“I will be there in ten minutes. I will also seal your section until we get to the bottom of this. There is no need to worry about anything. I will take care of this mess for you.”
Mark promised before he quickly put the phone down. His reassurance made Rika’s breath more manageable, and she quietly handed the phone back to Luna.
By now, the other people in the office had started to return, and they looked annoyed that they were not allowed inside.
“Hey, who do you think you are? Just because you are Mr. Regulas’s daughter does not give you the right to tell us what we can and cannot do. Now, let us head inside. Unless management tells us otherwise, we are free to head in here.”
Amanda sounded angry and also frustrated.
Rika felt that Amanda had a hand in what happened to her bag and this white powder.

Thankfully, Mark decided to arrive before things could get worse, and his presence calmed the situation down.
“I am the one who ordered this section to close down for now. Do you have a problem with that, miss?”
Mark’s voice sounded cold enough to make Rika shiver. She had not heard her brother sound this angry and agitated at anyone else who was not her.
Even Amanda looked taken aback, but she tried to calm the situation as quickly as possible.
“I don’t have a problem with anything, young master Goodwill. But I cannot help but find it unfair! You are showing favouritism to an intern rather than those who have demonstrated loyalty to this cooperation for years!
What kind of dirt does she have on you? You can tell me, and I will help you out.”
Amanda whispered these words, or she tried to whisper, at least.
But she spoke loudly enough to be heard by everyone. It made Rika feel second-hand embarrassment, and she face-palmed out of frustration.
Mark’s face had gone redder than Rika had ever seen, and he seemed to be trying his best not to lash out. But it was Luna’s behaviour that caught everyone off-guard.
“Pfff–hahahaha…I should not laugh…but I cannot…stop…. this is something.”
Luna’s laughter worsened Mark’s expression until he could no longer take it.
“Look, miss, I don’t know your problem, but I will not tolerate any more comments about my relationship with Rika. I don’t know or care about your sibling relationship, but mine is average.
So, if you care about your job and future, you better not anger me anymore.”
Rika opened her mouth and then closed it just as fast. She did not want to tell Mark anything about his statement, especially not with an audience looking at them with that horrified expression.
“We can clear out the air later, Mark. For now, we should focus on what is happening here. You can tell that this powder is a stimulant as well, right? For now, having alphas and omegas roaming this section might be dangerous.”
Rika warned, and Mark nodded in agreement.
