Chapter 267: Ch 237: Father’s office visit
“Tsk, they all left me home alone and went out for an outing? Did the father think I would not know that he also went out to his mother’s office? Does he take me for a fool? I wanted to go out as well.”

Suzie complained and bitched to her maid, and she even threw the pillows her defiance.

The maid calmly picked the pillow and fluffed it back before putting it on the bed. Suzie was annoyed but knew she could not do anything to annoy this maid.

After all, her grandmother sent this maid to help Suzie out. The maid was clever enough to know when she should and should not react.

“Miss Suzie, I know you are angry, but you should not feel troubled. The only reason your father decided to follow after your mother is because of some stupid rumors. I’m sure he will be back by your side soon.”

The maid assured Suzie while continuing to clean up.

Her voice was calm and left no room for complaint, but Suzie focused more on her words than her tone.

“Rumors? What stupid rumors would cause the father to run toward Mother’s side like this? Did someone say she was sick or something? Father knows better than to believe that shit!”

Suzie complained as she huffed and put her foot down. She was showing her displeasure openly.

She also felt annoyed that she did not know what was happening and could not do anything to help her father out (or take advantage of his weaknesses).

“Would you like me to tell you the rumor I heard recently, Lady Goodwill? I am sure you would like to know about it as well.”

Suzie’s maid asked while keeping her head low to show that she was a servant and would always bow before power.

It made Suzie feel better but doubted whether she should believe this maid.

Seeing how she had Suzie’s attention, the maid did not delay for long and decided to tell Suzie precisely what she had heard.

“The rumor is that Alpha Goodwill is having an affair with one of her recently hired interns. People saw the intern in her office several times, and they seemed close.

No one has been able to get as close to Alpha Goodwill as this intern got. These rumors worried your father, who decided to find the truth.”

Suzie looked at her maid with a surprised expression before she broke into full-blown laughter.

Her whole body shook from the laughter as Suzie tried to calm down.

But the more she tried, the more her body broke into laughter. Once she started laughing, she could not even stand up straight.

The maid kept quiet and waited for her lady to calm down. Once Suzie looked stable enough, the maid decided to continue.

“Would you like me to find out more about your mother’s ‘lover’ that had even your father worried?”

The maid asked, but Suzie shook her head.

“No need! I already know that it will be useless. There is no way someone like a mother could ever cheat on a father. The same goes for Mark. He will not be able to leave me after investing all he did into me.”

Suzie sounded confident before she forced herself to stand up and go down.

“Let’s go meet Father now. He should be back by now, and I am sure he will need his ‘young girl’ to console him about what happened.”

The maid did not stop Suzie from doing what she wanted.

She was not here to stop or correct Suzie’s behavior but to encourage her to run wild.

The maid had no idea what her mistress planned by allowing Suzie to break all these rules, but she knew better than to ask that question.

She followed Suzie downstairs and watched as Suzie threw herself toward her father’s arm as soon as she saw him.

“Daddy! You are back. How was your trip to mom’s office? Did you have fun? Did you miss me?”

Suzie asked in a whiny voice.

Knowing her father, he would have heard the rumor about what happened, but there was no way he could find evidence of something that did not exist.

And her father was someone who kept on brewing all the worries inside his mind until they ended up eating him alive.

Suzie would take advantage of this and solidify her presence in his mind.

“Daddy, how was Mommy doing? Did you get to talk? What about Mark? He left me here all alone, and now I am bored. I hope everything was alright when you visited Mother.”

Suzie asked with a pouty voice and begging eyes.

She waited for her father to make that awkward expression so she could go in for the kill and deepen her relationship with him.

“Ah, huh! Oh! Your mother? She’s doing amazing right now. I think! Nothing seemed wrong at her work; she is enjoying it all now. There is nothing to worry about.”

Suzie paused to give her father a once-over.

Her father did not seem to be lying when he said that Alpha Goodwill was doing well. His voice also showed no sign of doubt.

He was calm and confident, but most of all reassured about his position in his wife’s life.

Suzie tried to keep her smile, but it became stiff after that. She was unsure how to proceed.

“Everything was alright? There were no complications or anything? Are you sure mother going to visit mother did not give you a hard time, father? You don’t have to hide your feelings from me.”

Suzie asked again, now trying to find flaws in what her father spoke.

But the older omega looked content and not bothered at all even after hearing the rumors.

He looked even more secure about his position in his alpha’s life, making Suzie bite her lip in agitation. She did not know what to think about it all anymore. Just what was going on around her?
