Chapter 269: Ch 269: The call – part 1
“You must be tired after all that happened, father. Why don’t you go and rest for now? I can see just how worn your face has become.”

Despite Suzie’s attempt to sound sympathetic, her words were tinged with a burning jealousy that she struggled to conceal. Her inner turmoil was palpable, and her maid, a quick-witted and observant woman who acted swiftly, intervened to diffuse the tension, relieving the situation.

A gentle hand rested on the omega’s shoulder before the maid slowly guided him out of the room and toward his room.

“Master, please come with me. I will help you get to your room. You do look tired enough to fall asleep in the hallway.”

The main insisted on helping the omega out, and he sighed in relief.

“Maybe I am tired. I was just too tense because of the rumor, but now that I no longer need to worry about it, I can take a break and not worry about it. Suzie, you are unhappy with your house arrest, but bear with it. Your mother will lift the ban soon.”

Suzie smiled at her father as she watched him leave the living room.

But as soon as her father was out of the way, Suzie grabbed the vase he cherished so much and broke it into pieces.

“How dare you do this to me? I am the next heir to the Goodwill cooperation; no one else can take that away from me. Mother, it looks like you are pushing me to my limits. You will leave me with no choice but to get rid of Rika.”

After her outburst, the maids suddenly avoided Suzie for the rest of the day, but she did not notice.

She took advantage of this free time to call for her grandmother.

If there was one person who could help Suzie out and not get her in trouble, the elder alpha loved Suzie to pieces.

Her grandmother picked up the phone at the first ring, and Suzie got ready to tell her the sob story she had cooked up.

Her grandmother was ready to help her within seconds, and Suzie felt accomplished.

Her plans were finally on the right track once more.

Rika looked at her phone with a blank expression on her face.

She was waiting for someone’s call, and her phone responded within seconds as it started to blink and beep.

Rika did not reach out for it immediately but knew she needed to pick it up soon. Emily was not patient and could try another trick if Rika ignored her.

But Rika was disappointed and asked her not to pick up the phone. Rika did not want to pick up this phone call because she knew she would be unhappy.

Emily had just asked Rika to be her partner at the Union Conference, so Rika doubted she would be asked to buy Emily this time, too.

‘Should I pick up this phone? I can let go of the voicemail and call Emily back tomorrow. I am sure that will teach her a lesson-‘

“Hello, Emily! You are calling at such a late time. Did something happen?”

Rika cursed her soft heart, making her pick up the phone. She waited for the female on the other side to say something, but there was silence from Emily’s side.

The female alpha seemed to be breathing harder than usual, which indicated that she was doing something intense, but Rika had no idea what kind of sports involved gasping and heavy breathing.

“Rika, are you there? Please, speak my name! Ugh, I want you to talk to me as sweetly as possible. Call my name like you usually do.”

Emily’s voice was husky and a little lower than her usual one. It also seemed to be filled with something else.

The wetness of Emily’s voice tickled Rika’s ear, and it made her feel hot and bothered.

Rika rubbed her things as she started to feel uncomfortable as well.

“Hey, are you alright, Rika? Do you need my help with anything? You don’t look so good right now-”

Charon asked worriedly as she reached out toward Rika after noticing her abnormal condition.

When she arrived, Rika had not even noticed how close the older beta was to her. It embarrassed Rika and even the person on the other side of the phone found this unacceptable.

The loud growl of warning that Emily let out made Rika freeze.

It affected Emily as well, and the older beta froze before she slowly pulled her hand back in time. Understanding flashed across Emily’s face before an embarrassed flush overtook her features.

“Ah, I see! So, this is what is going on? I don’t think I should be here for this. Rika, I will head out for now. I think I will sleep on the couch today. Have a fun time. I will take Shuu with me as well.”

Charon was an excellent roommate. She even grabbed the protesting Shuu to take him out while Rika cared for her ‘business.’

Rika wanted to tell Charon that it was nothing special and that the older beta could stay in the room.

But logically, even Rika knew that it would be bullshit to speak like this.

Emily sounded irritated to hear Charon’s voice, and Rika felt the alpha would march down here if Charon did not leave.

Once Charon was gone, Rika brought her phone back to her ear and sighed in relief.

“You scared my roommate away, Emily. Did you have to do that to poor Charon-”

“Kneel and strip. Also, turn on your camera. I want to see your body wet and ready for me.”

Emily wasted no time in issuing this order.

Rika knew that Emily was all alone in her office when she said these words. The older female was too possessive to have anyone else in the room with her (except Damian) when she sexually wanted Rika.

“Hurry up, Omega. How long are you going to make me wait like this? I feel plenty frustrated already. Can’t you see how hard I am for you?”
