Chapter 282: Ch 282: A clawless Kitten
‘This bitch is here again. Every time I see her face, I want to rip it off. If only Miss Emily would abandon this fool for a day, I can care for her myself.’
Noe prided herself on being a gentle, intelligent omega ready to serve her miss anytime. But there were times when she could not control her urges, and these kinds of thoughts leaked out.
It usually happened because of a single person, and this time was no different for her.
The one instigating these kinds of thoughts in Noe’s mind was the person her alpha boss had been seeing for the past week.
Noe did recall seeing that beta around her boss a few times, but she had never paid attention to her before.
Since this person was a beta, there was no chance her boss would ever look her way. So naturally, Noe had not considered that beta as a viable competition. She had only been concerned with holding all the omegas back from her boss.
Not that Emily Steinz needed it since she was dating another alpha then.
But that was only temporary. No alpha could be satisfied dating another alpha long-term…or so Noe was assured by her alpha mother.
So, Noe was bidding her time to grab a chance and act on it.
That was why this new addition to Miss Emily’s preferences was not allowed, and Noe would make sure her miss realized just how ‘wrong’ her choice was.
“Noe, control your expression, or you will be fired. I know how you feel about this situation, but you must remain professional to be by Miss Emily’s side longer.”
Secretary Hong warned Noe, but she could tell he was jealous of the faker.
He was Noe’s most significant competition after Suzie Goodwill, but Noe knew that he would not make any move on the female alpha.
“Tsk, I am behaving just as I should behave. That beta has no right to be close to our alpha leader. I mean, just what can a beta do for an alpha like our miss? See, even now, our miss is looking at us because she is unsatisfied.”
Noe was delusional, and her brain interpreted things in her own way.
She could see her miss looking at her with narrow eyes that held passion (her delusion).
*Sigh*
“I don’t think the emotion our miss is looking at us is passion or love, Noe. Even if I don’t like our leader’s mate choice, you don’t see me making it obvious. Get it together, Noe.”
Secretary Hong took a deep breath before rubbing his forehead to get rid of the headache he felt. But Noe did not feel the same as him.
Noe waited for the night to end, and when it was time for Rika to head back, Noe quickly moved and volunteered to take her back.
“Miss, you look tired. Why don’t you allow me to drop your guest back home? I assure you that I will do a good job.”
Noe assured the female in front of her with an innocent face. She wanted to show that she was harmless and a good choice.
But in reality, Noe had a plan to carry out. She would show this beta why she should not come close to her miss.
“Oh! Will you take Rika back home? How sweet of you, Noe. Then, I will leave Rika’s safety up to you. Make sure she gets home safely.”
The female alpha warned her secretary, and Noe felt a drop of sweat run down her forehead at the explicit warning.
Emily Steinz was warning Noe about taking this task seriously.
“Of course, miss! I will handle this task soon and return to your side.”
The Omega looked determined before she quickly left to prepare. She did not look back to see Emily’s amused look or Secretary Hong’s shaking of his head.
…
“Looks like Noe is planning something again. Rika, are you sure you do not need my help dealing with her?”

Emily turned toward her partner as soon as her female secretary had left the room. She wanted to consider Rika’s opinion before she did anything else.
“I don’t need your help dealing with everything in my life, Emily. Besides, your secretary reminds me of a clawless kitten. I am sure I can take her on without a problem.”
Rika assured Emily, and for the first time in forever, the alpha did not say anything to make Rika change her mind.
Emily knew her secretary the best, so she also knew just how easy it would be for Rika to deal with Noe.
“Go ahead and do what you want, Rika. Also, do let me know if you need any help. I will always be available to help you out.”
Emily assured the beta before Rika sighed and got up.
The alpha watched her prey escape her with a pair of heated eyes that signaled that she wanted to eat Rika (or at least keep her captive), but her staring contest was broken by her remaining secretary’s gestures.
“Would you like me to follow after Miss Rika and ensure she is safe? Having a second person keep an eye on things might lighten your worries.”
The secretary asked calmly, but Emily quickly shook his worries off.
“No need to do that. Just wait and let Rika deal with this situation on her own. You know what kind of family I am from. Do you think the person I keep by my side would be normal either?”
Secretary Hong felt shocked, but the process only lasted a few seconds.
Logically, he knew that Emily Steinz was right. No one in her circle was a ‘normal’ human being, including Secretary Hong.
“Besides, you should be more worried about Noe than Rika. You don’t know what Rika can do when she is angry.”
It was fortunate that no one had seen Rika truly angry until now. Emily did not want to deal with an angry Rika again.
