Middle Child Syndrome - Chapter 285
Chapter 285: Ch 285: The trap is set
Noe was freaking out where she was lying down on the ground.
The fact that she had been tired because of what she did was not enough to stop her from making threatening noises toward Rika and her company.
Rika was incredibly patient with the omega in front of her, but the same could not be said for everyone else in that surrounding.
“Tsk, this is getting annoying. Will you shut your trap up for a minute here? I am trying to talk to our boss! I must knock you out if you continue to yap like this.”
Shamal cracked his knuckles in an intimidating manner as he looked at the terrified omega in front of her.
The fact that Noe was letting out terrified pheromones that screamed for someone to protect her meant nothing to the alpha in front of her. He was going to attack Noe if she continued like this.
However, Noe was lucky that Rika was there to calm the situation.
“It’s okay, Shamal—Noe is not a threat to us. I will send Emily a message detailing what happened here, and she will take care of everything. You don’t have to worry about anything.”
Rika assured the alpha before she quickly took out her phone and typed the message she wanted to send her girlfriend.
As soon as Noe heard what Rika had said, she lost her mind, and her worry turned into anger.
“Don’t you dare drag Alpha Steinz into our fade. She is too busy for the likes of you to be messing around with. Do you have any idea just how heavy of a burden she carries?
Just because Alpha Steinz pampered you since you were a child does not mean that a servant like you can do whatever you want to. Lady Emily already has an alpha she likes.”
Noe was justifying her desire to keep Rika away from her lady. A lot of what she said was pure bullshit, and Rika cared nothing for it.
But even she could not help her temper back when Noe continued to yell in her face about Emily not liking Rika.
“Big sis, I know that you are angry, but can you avoid killing someone in our base? It will be a pain to clean up, and we will also have to explain it to the others…not that I think they won’t understand! But still! It can cause trouble for us all-”
A single look from Rika was enough to make Shamal quiet down, and then Rika turned toward the still-yelling omega before her.
“You know, I’ve gotten tired of your yapping. So, be quiet and take a nap now. I no longer need to hear what you say to me.”
Rika smiled at the omega in front of her when she said these words before she knocked the omega out.
Noe looked at Rika with startled eyes before they turned angry and had a knowing light in them.
“Ha, I knew your real nature was a savage beast-”
Noe was out like a light before she finished speaking, and Rika gave an offended scoff before taking her phone out and messaging Emily about what happened.
Rika would have loved to deal with Noe alone, but she did not want to undermine Emily’s authority in this case.
Since Noe was Emily’s subordinate, Rika wanted Emily to take charge. Even if Emily had given Rika full permission to do anything, Rika did not want to spend more brainpower on this topic.
Once she had dealt with the immediate annoyance in her life, she turned toward the alpha, who was waiting faithfully for her to finish.
“You! Take her back outside and leave her near the hospital. Call this number, and they will take care of Noe for us.”
Rika pointed toward a random beta grunt who looked startled at being called upon.
“Tsk, do you think I will do what you want to just because you asked me to? It seems you have no idea how mighty I am-”
Shamal knocked the man on the head, and the beta immediately stopped speaking and looked startled.
“Do as Lady Rika says. She can kill you in more ways than I can list right now. So, if you want to live, you better follow her words.”
Shamal’s words made everyone drop what they were doing and look at him with surprised expressions.

For the first time, their leader had shown fear and respect for someone who was not a leader.
It made everyone curious about Rika’s identity, but no one was brave enough to ask or venture too close to finding out.
Once the case with Noe was as good as settled, Rika had no more reason to stay on the gang turf.
Neo dragged her here without knowing anything, so it was time for Rika to return home and never return.
That had been her plan, but Shamal seemed to have a different idea for her.
Rika had no idea how the older alpha realized she would leave, but he grabbed Rika’s wrist before she could make that move.
“Boss, please come with me. I want to bring you to the next meeting of all the executives. I want to see their shocked faces when I bring you in.”
Shamal looked excited to drag Rika to this ‘meeting,’ which sounded super important.
He might have been excited, but Rika had no intention of following after him and letting him do as he pleased.
That was why, as soon as Rika realized what was happening, she broke that hold on her arm and freed herself within seconds.
Her annoyed expression took Shamal back, but he quickly recovered his expression and asked Rika what had happened.
“Boss, is everything alright? Did you want to tell me something? Do you need some time? I can arrange that. But I would like you to visit us this time. We all had a hard time after you disappeared, and some of us never recovered from the trauma of losing you as our boss.”
This sounded like a trap, and the more Rika heard Shamal talk, the sorrier she felt for him.
She knew Shamal’s words were a trap, but Rika felt terrible for him.
