Chapter 290: Ch 290: I will resolve this for you
“Let me get this straight! This happened because you borrowed money from the Rodric family and could not repay it on time. What the hell compelled you to borrow such a large amount of sum in the first place? Are you all idiots?”
Rika prided herself on being patient and not getting angry at the slightest provocations. But there was a limit to the bullshit she could tolerate.
Seeing her gang make foolish decisions based on personal emotions made even someone like her lose her mind, especially when the damage caused by this decision was massive.
“B-Boss, please calm down! As I said before, this was a coincidence! I promise that this will not happen again. I-I just panicked at that time since Dawn said she needed to undergo surgery and-”
Shamal tried to make excuses for his behavior, and everyone else looked away from him.
It had been a collective decision to borrow money, so everyone was equally to blame for what happened.
“Tsk, I told you it was stupid to borrow so much from the Rodric family. The rumors surrounding them are not great. You trusted us all into a dangerous situation because you could not keep yourself in check.”
Pheone spoke rudely, causing everyone to turn toward her in annoyance.
‘Look at the pot calling the kettle black. Didn’t you make Dawn fall for you just because she looked similar to Rika? Also, you keep a harem of omegas and beta that look like Rika at your beck and call. We all know it.’
Despite these thoughts brewing inside his mind, Shamal pushed them away and turned toward Rika with a sorry expression.
“I know that it was foolish to borrow so much money from a mafia syndicate, but I genuinely believed that it would be fine. We made enough to cover it in a year…or we would have had that time if this feud did not occur.”
Shamal was hiding things but did not think he needed to tell Rika anymore.
Rika made a curious face when she looked at Shamal. It was a face he had seen a lot of times before, and it relaxed him.
That face meant that Rika would find a solution for them and that they did not need to worry.
“You said that you borrowed from Rodric family? Then, I will help you settle this dispute. But this will be the last time I help you out. Also, I will only help you out with money. You better take care to smoothen your relationship with the family.”
Rika sighed and decided to help out.
The executives felt slightly shocked, not as much as an average person.
It was clear from the start that Rika was from a wealthy family. Her fighting style also indicated that she had trained extensively to defend herself.
She was not an average person with her strength and speed.
Yet, the background search on her mostly came out empty. The only reliable result was too far-stretched to be believable.
No matter how good Rika was, she could not be from the Goodwill family, so they dismissed that possibility.
“So, when are we heading out to resolve our matter, boss?”
Shuric asked in a tense voice.
Everyone looked at Rika with anticipating eyes, their gaze telling Rika to delay this matter and stay with them a little longer.
But Rika did not want to waste too much time here.
“We will leave right now. The sooner we finish this, the better for you all. I also need to head back, and I don’t know when I will have time to come here and help you out.”
Rika’s words were met with a disappointed look on people’s faces. They all looked forward to her next visit.
“Ugh, we are all happy to meet Rika, but we should try to resolve our situation here. I was trying to contact Dawn, but her phone is busy. I think she got into some trouble.”
Henry suddenly spoke, and he sounded worried. He tried to contact Dawn on his phone, but his call did not go through.
It worried him and the others about Dawn and what could happen to her.

There was a non-zero chance that she messed with the wrong people and got into trouble.
It would not be the first time this happened, and the thought made people around the room groan in annoyance.
“Well, let’s hurry up then! If she were with the Rodric family, I doubt she would have survived long alone. That girl stuck with me as a delicate type who had not seen a lot of hardship in her life. Why would you even drag someone like her into this world?”
Rika asked tiredly, and no one wanted to answer her.
The answer was simple- she looked like Rika, and they all missed Rika.
As a result, they all made a stupid decision to drag an innocent civilian into their midst, and they now had a responsibility toward her.
“Well, it was an accident that will never happen again. But since we have a duty toward Dawn, we will do our best to save her. So, boss, we will count on you to help us out. We promise we will repay you in the future.”
Shamal asked on behalf of everyone. It made Rika sigh before giving them the benefit of the doubt!
“Fine! I will help you out. This is not a big deal, but I realize this all happened accidentally. Let’s go now.”
Rika led the executives toward where she knew the members of the Rodric family gathered.
She pulled her phone out at the last second and noticed the message Emily left for her.
[Damian is back. He said he would meet us tomorrow after he finishes his work with the family. I heard he did well in completing the succession test early.]
Reading this made Rika feel awkward, but she was sure she would not run into Damian. That is too much of a coincidence.
Unfortunately, Rika should know that her luck was terrible regarding such things.
