An unknown number lit up Emily’s phone, and she looked at it for too long.

Emily did not get calls on her phone. No one except her close friends knew this number, and even then, the only ones who used it were Rika and Damian.

Knowing Damian, he would prefer to call her on her work phone if he did it from a number other than his own. So that only left Rika, who could call Emily with a different number.

The phone went to voice call, and Emily realized too late that she was supposed to pick up the phone if she wanted to know what Emily wanted from her.

“Oops, I was supposed to pick the phone up. Should I call Rika back before she-”

The call started again, and the same number flashed across Emily’s screen.

She picked up the call this time, but the speakers were unknown people on the other side. Emily did not recognize them from their voice, which annoyed her that her expectations had been dashed.

“You called the wrong number.”

This time, the speaker was another female. She sounded much ruder and more confident than the first speaker.

Emily would have cut off the call and forgotten all about it if the other person had not mentioned Rika and being affiliated with her.

Rika was the only reason Emily decided to listen to these two. By the end of their explanation, Emily had a good idea of what had happened and what she needed to do.

“I see! That is something I should have known. Thank you both for informing me about this. Do let me know if I can do anything for you in return for this information.”

Emily offered, but the female on the other side of the phone laughed.

“Nah, it’s okay. Rika is a friend, so what happened to her worried us. We just wanted someone to care for her when we cannot.”

With that, the phone call was cut off, and Emily felt a slight headache throbbing her head.

She quickly dialed the number of her hacker to check what had happened. And it was as she feared—Suzie had somehow interfered with what was happening.

Frankly, Emily had no idea how the younger omega continued to find ways to interfere with Rika even though they lived different lives.

It was impressive and a little freaky.

Mark only had this opportunity left in his life. Emily would make sure of it.
