Chapter 306: Ch 306: The ‘Perfect’ Family
“I don’t know what you are talking about, Suzie. Didn’t you tell me repeatedly that you wanted me to leave your family alone? I granted your wish for you.”
Rika did not often feel angry at Suzie because she knew that Suzie was driven by her emotions.
What Rika often felt for Suzie was annoyance and emotions along this path. She wanted to spend only a little time and energy on Suzie if she could help.
But Suzie was making it too tricky for Rika not to snap at her. All Rika wanted to do was snap Suzie’s neck and leave her unconscious on the bathroom floor.
Of course, Suzie did not realize how many bullets she dodged because Rika was not attacking her.
“Tsk, you are so useless! Why do I even count on you in the first place? It’s not like anything would change even if I told you all this. You don’t understand what I am going through!”
Suzie muttered these words under her breath and showed that she was taking a deep breath to calm herself down.
The one who needed to calm their temper was Rika. She was the victim here, being held pseudo-hostage by Suzie when her bladder was killing her.
“Listen here, Rika. You are a beta! You do not belong to a perfect family such as ours. Since ancient times, an ideal family had been described as an alpha-omega pair with their alpha-omega kids. A family is supposed to be a unit four!
Not only do you defy this rule as an unnecessary existence, but you are a beta on top of it! Don’t you think that you are an oddity in our family? Everyone else realizes that as well! Even grandmother says that you should not have been born!”
Suzie ranted, and suddenly made much more sense in Rika’s mind.
Their grandmother (father’s side) did not like their mother, and how she wedded their father without their grandmother’s permission.
Her mother had never gotten along with their grandmother, so it was natural that their grandmother would not like Rika, who looked nothing like her parents but had taken on her mother’s grandfather’s features.
On the other hand, both Suzie and Mark looked like their father.
Rika should not say it, but she knew her grandmother was selfish, arrogant, and too much overall. She also liked to sprout seeds of in-fighting within their family.
‘This makes far too much sense now! No wonder grandmother liked to visit a lot when Suzie was younger. It was her doing that Suzie turned out like this.’
Rika was not going to forgive Suzie that easily. Too much had happened to bury everything under the rug.
But Rika could give Suzie a wake-up call to bring herself back to her senses.
“I always knew that you were an easily-influential idiot, but I never realized how big of an idiot you were. You should know better than to live in your head-canon and return to the real world!
Things don’t work here as you please, and there is no concept of ‘normal’ here. Things won’t magically turn out well because you follow a formula here. You have a brain, so learn to use it.”
Rika pressed up against Suzie, and the pressure of her presence caused Suzie to be pushed back.
The younger Omega suddenly looked flustered. She could not take the proximity Rika was forcing her to stand in.
“Hey! Just what are you-”
Suzie complained right before Rika reversed the situation and slammed her chest-first into the wall.
Despite Rika’s smaller size, she could hold Suzie in place without problems.
“Hey! Just what are you up to? Let me go right now! I swear I will teach you a lesson for this humiliation!”
Suzie complained, now wiggling to get free from Rika’s hold. But Rika did not give her any chance to pull back or react.
All Suzie could do was accept that she had been bested and calm down.
“See! That was not that difficult. All you had to do was accept that you lost. This situation did not turn out as you wanted to either.”
Rika reminded the female before her, and she let go once it looked like Suzie would not retaliate.

“Fine! You won this time. But that does not mean I have accepted you as family! You are nothing to me, did you hear? I will never accept you as a family member! Never! Do you hear me!”
Suzie repeated her words a few times, almost as if it would make them more impactful.
Rika just scoffed at Suzie before patting her back and letting go.
“Sure, you do you. I don’t want you as a family either. I don’t enjoy my family verbally abusing me every chance they get.”
Rika’s words made Suzie flush red, and she would have spoken more when Rika heard some suspicious whispers coming from across the wall.
She quickly placed a hand on Suzie’s mouth to shut her up before pulling her toward herself so that Suzie would not be heard outside.
“Mufff-”
Suzie complained about Rika’s actions, but Rika was not bothered enough to help Suzie out. She had much more important things to focus her attention on.
Like the drug and kidnapping ring, she was hearing about just outside the bathroom.
“Did you get the drug?”
“Yup! This will knock those bitches out like a light. We need to make sure no one comes this way!”
“This drug works on omegas like a charm. Suzie Goodwill is as good as ours. As for the person beside her, eh, she’s a beta. I checked! Yeah, I could not believe it either. But we will have to knock her out. Not that we care about her.”
Suzie fell quiet when she realized what Rika was hearing outside the door.
The younger omega had gone white in the face, and Rika was sure that Suzie was reliving her trauma of being kidnapped before.
‘Alright! Looks like the situation got tricky for us.’
