Chapter 311: Ch 311: My Responsibility
Mark felt unsettled by what had happened but was glad Suzie had not been harmed. Now, he only needed to find Rika, and things would return to normal.
But he wanted to avoid involving Suzie during that search.
Mark, deeply concerned for Suzie’s well-being after the recent events, decided to find Rika himself, hoping to keep Suzie safe and calm.
Mark expected Suzie to nod and go to their mother and father. But instead, Suzie looked stubborn, which worried Mark.
He suddenly had a feeling that he was going to get annoyed at Suzie.
“Mark, you should come with me as well. Rika will take care of herself. She has always been right in such situations, right? There is no need for us to be worried about her.”
Suzie desperately tried to drag Mark back to the party. She wanted to avoid having Rika found and brought back.
Mark could see Suzie’s dark desires, but he tried to hide them so she would not be hated.
“It’ll be fine, Suzie. I know you are worried about your safety, but I am sure that Rocxx will be more than willing to guard you with his life. And I will return once Rika is safe and sound once more.”
Mark assured his youngest sister with a calm smile on his face.
He needed to correct her mistake before these people or Suzie might be killed for the sharp take.
But Suzie looked calm and refused to back down. She was not picking up any hints Mark was dropping her about backing down and not bringing up Rika.
“Why do you care about Rika anyway? She is not family, and she doesn’t belong. Don’t you also think that she was a mistake-”
Suzie’s cheek met Emily’s fist.
No alpha liked to hit an omega. It felt dirty and cheap, so alphas usually kept calm around the omegas and tried to fight verbally.
But there was a limit to the bullshit Emily could tolerate, and she had crossed her limit a while back. She was no longer willing to hold her temper back.
Her slap was sharp and powerful enough to turn Suzie’s head sideways and her cheek red.
The affected area would swell and leave an ugly mark on the world.
“Y-You hit me! How dare you-! I liked you a lot, Emily! Why would you do this to me? See! This is all Rika’s fault! She is not even here and still causing me trouble.”
Suzie let out a sob at the pain her cheek was experienced after being hit so clearly.
But Emily’s face showed no remorse. It only showed determination, and the older female was willing to do that again.
“Shut up and stop crying! Do you know how irritating you are with your fake sympathy agenda and always crying? We are not gathered here to make you feel better. So, if you don’t pull yourself together, I will slap you again.”
Emily threatened with her aura dominating everything around her.
The older alpha was angry, and Suzie felt afraid of her. She had no choice but to look away from the enraged alpha.
“Emily Steinz, what do you think you are doing? Suzie made a few mistakes, but that is no reason to attack her like this! How could you slap her like this?”
Mark asked, positioning himself before Suzie to shield her from the attack. But Emily did not look disappointed in the end.
“I can do much more than this if you want me to show you damage. You should feel grateful that I let Suzie go with such a minor attack. If it were up to me, then I would have torn her to shreds.”
The older female promised, and it made Mark shudder.
But he did not move from his position in front of Suzie. He was going to protect her at all costs.
“You both can fight later. We have gathered here for Rika, so let’s pay attention to her first. I am as pissed off as you are about what Suzie Goodwill said about my partner, but let’s put it past us for the time being.”

The one speaking was Andrew Tweten, and Emily reluctantly stepped back at his interference.
Mark also knew this was the best he could get, so he gestured for Rocxx to take Suzie back to their parents. That was the safest place for Suzie to be.
“Alright, so does anyone have a plan for getting to Rika? We’ll need to track her first before we do anything else.”
Mark asked, and Damian immediately turned to look at Emily.
“Don’t worry about tracking Rika down. Her GPS is still working, and I chipped her an extra one just in case. I can tell where those kidnappers are talking, Rika. I will ask my people to be extra vigilant and follow her.”
Emily assured with a relieved sigh and an easy-going expression on her face.
For a minute, no one spoke anything. And then Mark made an offended expression.
“You marked Rika with trackers? Isn’t that illegal? Rika would be so angry once she knew what you have done. Are you not afraid of being hated by her?”
Mark asked in disbelief. He could not believe that Emily had gotten away with doing what she did.
“Ah, it’s fine! Rika knows about these location trackers…. well, she knows about the one on her phone, at the very least. But we can ask for forgiveness later. For now, we need to head out.”
Emily deflected the topic with crafty words, but Mark was aware.
He was willing to drop this topic because finding Rika was much more important than any tricks to make that happen.
“I will get my people on the case as well. Those kidnappers will enter my territory so that I will catch them there. Is there anything you want me to help out with?”
Andrew asked as he took out his phone to call his people. He was serious about finding Rika tonight.
Rika was his date and, thus, his responsibility.
