“Shuu, come here! You cannot fight all these dogs! You will get hurt.”

Rika tried to get to Shuu to hide its body in her arms. Shuu looked so much younger and smaller than all the other dogs he was blocking, but her dear pup did not listen to Rika and continued protecting her.

Rika was desperate, knowing that Shuu could be hurt in this fight. She was determined to prevent this at all costs, and her actions showed her desperation.

But little did she know that Shuu was not the only one who entered the building to save her.

“Wow! There are a lot of mutts here. But these kids should know better than to prey on something out of their reach. Maybe I should teach them all a lesson they will never forget.”

Rika’s head had never snapped so fast as it did in that situation.

Emily’s familiar voice washed over Rika briefly before Damian’s pheromones covered every inch of the warehouse.

All the dogs that looked brave just a second ago began to look like frightened pups.

The dominant pheromones slowed everyone down, but Rika felt secure that the new presence was joining her.

“Emily! Damian! You are finally here! You sure took your time finding me.”

Rika did not know what to say, but these words were wrong. She closed her mouth when they were out, but it was too late.

Thankfully, Emily just laughed Rika’s words off with an easy shrug.

“Sorry! We would have found you a little sooner if we got any signal from your phone. Trying to find you was like looking for a needle in a haystack. Now, mind telling us what happened here?”

Emily asked Rika this question, but her eyes looked at Zhu Li when she spoke. It was clear that she wanted an answer from the alpha.

But Zhu Li remained quiet and did not say anything.

His loyalty to his uncle was palpable, but Rika did not see the point in him keeping quiet.

“You are Zhu Li, right? I read about you in reports regarding the drug case. Hmm, what should I do to you? Do you know that you miss me off?”

Emily’s cute tone creates a false sense of security, but Zhu Li does not let his guard down.

Despite being dominant, Damian’s pheromone suppressed Zhu Li, and he felt short-breathed. He wanted to stand up, but Damian reminded him too much of his uncle.

These factors combined made Damian a terrifying opponent for him to go against.

But Emily was not Damian, and Zhu Li quickly gathered his pheromones to fight back.

Even if Emily was an extremely dangerous alpha, she was still a regular alpha! Surely his Dominant pheromones would overpower her?

But as soon as Zhu Li tried it, he realized it was foolish. Emily did not flinch, but her smile grew slightly at his attempt.

“Don’t try to dominate me if you can’t use your pheromones properly! I regularly spar against Damian. Your inferior ones will not work on me.”

Emily had Zhu Li in a chokehold, and it looked dangerous.

As much as Rika appreciated Emily’s decision to help her, she did not want to see Zhu Li die. None of this was his fault, anyway.

“Emily, let him go! He was a big help to me during my kidnapping and before as well. I think of him as a friend, so there is no need to be like this with him.”

Rika warned, and Emily’s response was instant.

“Ah, you should have said that beforehand! I almost made a mad impression on someone who helped you out. I’m sorry! I promise I will not do that again.”

Emily promised with a happy smile as she extended her hand toward Zhu Li to take.

He looked cautiously at Emily’s smiling expression and gentle look. She was too scary to even think about.

But simultaneously, he decided to take this chance and take the extended hand.

Emily did not seem to like him, but she would compromise if Rika asked for it. Such control over someone else terrified him, but Wheat terrified Zhu Li even more because Emily did not even care that she was under Rika’s control.

It almost seemed she had given in on her own and did so happily.

The pup that had saved Rika initially decided to interfere between Rika and the rest. It placed its body and growled in warning as soon as anyone looked at Rika.

“Shuu, it’s fine! They are all friends. You’ve met Emily and Damian before as well, right? There is no need to be this aggressive.”

A few words from Rika were enough to pacify the puppy and make it return to its original calm self. But that did not mean it let go of all the anger and suspicion it had for the people around him.

Neither Emily nor Damian cared about the growling puppy in Rika’s arms as they fluttered around her.

“We should look for the culprit that caused this mess. I am sure they must be nearby! This could have been dangerous for both of us, so I want to find out what happened before we move on.”

Rika warned and reached out to pet her puppy! Shuu barked happily before he sprinted out of her arms toward that weird smell that had made all these pups lose their minds.

The smell was coming from outside the shelter, and the group followed after Shuu to reach it.

Zhu Li recognized that he was fleeing back anywhere, and he knew that this was a prank being played on him by the seniors, who were jealous of his status being so high despite his age.

‘Shit! It was one thing to target me when I was all alone! But why did you have to involve Rika in your mess as well? Now we will all die because of you!’

That was the only thing Zhu Li could think of the whole time he cornered.
