‘Emily is enjoying this! I always knew that she had a sadistic streak inside her, but she usually does an excellent job of keeping it under wraps. It seems like this incident finally pushed her off the edge.’

Rika had hardly seen Emily like this because the older alpha thought this side of herself unsightly.

She kept her curiosity warped under her gentle facade.

But Emily was not her usual self right now. A darkness in her eyes unsettled Rika.

“Oi! You need to stop your friend from killing my subordinate, or it might become a ground for war! I know that man did us both dirty, but I would rather not see a war over it.”

Zhu Li whispered in Rika’s ears before he looked at her with the warmest expression. He seemed to believe that Rika could help him out and save the man Emily was holding in her grip.

It made Rika feel uncomfortable, as did being leveled with. Her new attention was not used to people counting on her or expecting her.

“Fine! I will try to persuade Emily not to tell this man! But I cannot make any promises! Emily is her person and she, and she looks angry right now. I don’t think she would listen to me just because I want her to!”

Rika spoke softly before she saw Zhu Li’s soft look that said to at least try.

It made her sigh before she turned toward Emily and reached toward her shoulder.

“Emily, this is enough! I am sure the man has learned his lesson by now. There is no need for you to torture him like this! If you still want this man punished, we must hand him over to his organization and have them decide on a punishment.”

Rika was Emily’s voice of reason.

As much as Rika hated stopping Emily when she was in the mood, she knew she did not want a turf war.

“Tsk, I understand! If you want this, I will let this pathetic life live this time. You! I expect you to take care of this mess, or I will come to end this.”

Emily pointed toward Zhu Li while threatening the whole organization.

Despite Emily’s explosive anger igniting anything it touched, everyone felt more concerned about Damian and his reaction.

He had yet to say anything or act out, which concerned Rika. Her instincts told her that Da. Her instincts were to run away from him.

Before that could happen, her mother and Ren Li arrived at the scene.

“I guess this will serve more than enough proof for your people! My daughter was found on your turf after she was kidnapped. You do know that this could cause a turf war, right?”

Rika had heard her mother sound cold but had never heard her so angry. Her mother’s face looked calm, but her eyes were blazing with the need to destroy! She would end up erupting at this rate.

‘Shit! This is bad. Should I interfere and say something? As much as I don’t like this man, his presence keeps the triads stable. We can’t afford to lose that much protection and security for now.’

Rika felt terrible for her mother but needed to interfere and get her words in.

But she did not even need to do that because the old man decided to speak up for himself.

“Alpha Goodwill, will you believe me if I said this was all a coincidence and I had nothing to do with it? Yeah! I did not think so! But we truly have nothing to do with this. We were not behind this kidnapping! We just happened to be the destination.

If you genuinely want to look for the culprit, you should look close to your side. I am sure someone on your side has betrayed you.”

The old man dropped the bomb before relaxing and leaning back in his chair. He did not seem to care that he had caused the Goodwill family to panic. He just wanted to spend his time in peace.

Rika looked at her mother with a worried expression.

The older female was gritting her teeth as she contained her rage in a small corner of her mind before putting a smile on her face.

“I understand. If it is an internal matter, I will take care of it alone! There is no need for outsiders to be concerned about anything. Now, I shall take my leave. Rika, follow me outside now.”

Natasha Goodwill was not in a mood to hear ‘no,’ and anyone could tell that about her. People knew better than to get in her way when she was like this.

Everyone knew that except the old man standing before the storage door.

“I am afraid that taking Rika back will be a little difficult! I have taken a liking to Rika and even offered her a spot in my organization. I have not gotten an answer from her yet. Until I get an answer from her that satisfies me, I will keep her here.”

The old man promised before he brought his cane up to block Damian’s attack.

No one had seen the younger dominant alpha move, but Ren Li stopped him.

“Oh! Are you angry that I am coveting your person? Then you should claim her and hold on to her tightly! Attacking me so half-heatedly would not resolve anything.”

The older dominant whispered in Damian’s ear before he pushed the alpha away.

Rika could not understand what the old man said to Damian, but it made the younger alpha feel calmer and deadlier.

Damian let out a growl before the old man decided he had enough and walked out.

“Fine! You can take Rika back for now. Rika, you are welcome to come and join me any time you want to. I find you interesting, so I will welcome you with open arms as long as you remain interesting.”

Rika let out a sigh of relief as soon as she watched that old man leave.
