Middle Child Syndrome - Chapter 333
Chapter 333: Ch 333: A calm Morning
Rika’s stomach felt full and heavy. It felt odd, but Rika had no time to think about it when she first needed to meet her basic needs.
‘Damian! That bastard held me hostage! What was he thinking? Was he not letting me go? He would have made me wet the bed!’
Somehow, Rika felt that Damian would have enjoyed it if Rika had wetted the bed. He was just too weird for Rika to understand, but she was slowly beginning to uncover the natural person under Damian’s mask of coldness.
Rika ended up taking a lot longer than she expected in the bathroom (mainly to clean up all the mess that was made inside her body).
“Rika, is everything alright? Do you need my help!”
Emily asked in a worried voice, but Rika waved off her concern. Rika felt that any help she got now would only worsen the situation.
Besides, Rika needed Emily to do something else for her.
“I am fine, Emily! But can you get some morning-after pills for me? It would be better to be safe rather than sorry!”
Rika advised, and she heard Emily’s footsteps as she walked away from the door.
Because Rika had not been in actual heat, there was a high chance that she would not conceive. But she was not willing to take a risk. She was not going to end up pregnant and then regret her choices.
It was just better to save herself this trouble and ensure that she takes the morning-after pill.
After that, Rika took her sweet time in the shower. The water relaxed her body and soothed her nerves.
Once Rika cleaned herself off, she noticed the current state of her body. It looked like a wild animal had mauled her…which was not so different from what happened.
Emily felt ashamed as she looked away. As soon as Rika entered the room, all her marks were exposed.
But Damian had no such thing, and he warned his arms around Rika to pull her into his lap.
“Hey, don’t start now! I don’t think my body can take any more abuse right now. I also need to go to work tomorrow, so no more sex.”
There was a time when Rika would not have been able to say all this, but it was easier for Rika to communicate her thoughts now.
Spending time with Emily and Damian helped out a lot. The more they showed they cared, the more Rika opened up to the pair.
Damian’s pout did nothing to change Rika’s mind. Her body would break if she tried to do anything more.
“Here, take these. Dami, can you get started on breakfast for Rika? I will take care of her clothes in the meantime.”
Emily asked the dominant alpha, who sighed before handing Rika over to Emily with one hand.
Rika blinked as her alpha picked her up. The show of strength took her aback every time it happened.
On the other hand, Emily sighed and reached out to grab Rika.
“Dami! Be careful! I will kill you if you drop Rika or harm her! You need to be careful while handling her!”
Emily complained, and her words made Rika feel like a fragile object that must be handled carefully.
She did not speak up until Damian was gone from the room.
“I never realized how clingy Damian can be when in the mood! How do you even put up with him when he is in this mood?”
Rika asked with a tired sigh. Her body throbbed due to the pain, but it was slowly calming down as time went on.
Emily just sighed at her partner’s actions.
“Dami is only clingy with you. I never had to deal with him when we were together. It’s something you don’t need to worry about, Rika. I’ll take care of Dami when he is in this state.”

Emily promised before she let Rika down on her feet. Rika was thankful for some stability in her life, and she blinked a few times to get rid of the swirls she could see in front of her eyes.
‘Ah, looks like I lack the energy to do anything! I hope breakfast helps me out.’
…
Breakfast did help Rika feel better. Once she had something to eat, she felt much more energized and functional.
“You don’t have to head back right now. You can stay with us for a little while longer if you want! We don’t mind! I will even drop you to work tomorrow, Rika.”
Emily insisted, but Rika knew she could not stay there. If she did, there was no chance she would ever make it to work.
Neither she nor Emily would have enough energy to head out.
And as much as Rika did not mind such an outcome, she had promised her mother a month of regular work.
The more she delayed that month, the more she would feel guilty about it.
“It’s okay! I feel much better than before. You reinforced your temporary mark on me, right? Then you don’t have to worry about anything. Besides, I should go and get Shuu as well. That pup must be worried.”
Rika felt guilty that she only remembered Shuu now.
But in her defense, she had been occupied up until now. The two alphas had done an excellent job of occupying Rika’s mind.

“Fine! If this is what you want, then we won’t stop you. But you better keep us informed about what happened.”
Emily made Rika promise this before she watched Rika go out with a worried expression.
That lasted as long as Rika was in sight.
As soon as Rika was gone, Emily’s expression turned hard, and she looked back at Damian with her unreadable expression.
“Did you find those culprits? I want to care for them before Rika discovers what we are doing.”
The dominant alpha looked at his partner with a similar expression of understanding.
“Found them and interrogated them already. It seemed to be an individual gig, not a planned one.”
