Chapter 338: Ch 338: Why are they not back yet?
“It’s a nice night to be out and about. The breeze is incredible, and it helps me heal and relax. What do you think, Charon? Does it feel nice as well?”

Fey asked as she held Shuu’s leash tightly while walking the pup.

The wolf had gotten too strong to hold back alone, and she did not like walking that big thing without any company.

Usually, she took her brother with her, but Flourite has been a little busy lately. He was preparing for his entrance exam and acceptance test for higher studies.

He had asked Fey to go out alone today, so she had decided to take Charon with her.

“It is a nice day outside. I wonder what Rika is doing? She is at her new job, right? Half of her intern time is already up. I wonder what she is thinking about during work.”

Charon replied, mainly to make small talk. She could care less about how Rika’s work treated her.

As long as Rika was happy and satisfied, nothing else mattered for Charon.

“Rika will be fine! She’s highly adaptable and lucky in ways we cannot even imagine. I am sure she will be fine at her new job. If not, she can always quit.”

Fey reminded Charon, and the older female sighed in agreement.

They finally made their way back home, and Fey let Shuu inside the property when her phone messaged her.

“Huh? What is this message? Charon, can you understand what this text says? It’s from Flourite.”

Fey showed Charon the hand-written message her brother had sent her.

“Isn’t he asking us to bring some snacks back? I think I saw a similar trend of messages on social media. Let’s head to the convenience store and get some snacks on our way back.”

Charon sounded happy and content. Her life was finally back on track, and she felt she could care for herself.

“Ugh, I don’t want to go back out. But fine! We should head out. Flourite hardly ever asks me for things. It is good to have something he wants that I can provide.”

Fey dragged Charon out of the house, and the pair headed toward the convenience store.

Just as they passed the next corner, something attacked them. A cloth was pressed against their faces, and before anyone knew it, the duo fell unconscious.

Zhu Li sighed as he looked down at the pair he had kidnapped. He hated that he had to do such things, but this was what his uncle wanted.

‘I am sorry! You can blame my uncle and me once you are back. But for now, you will need to be out hostages to get Rika to do what we went her to.’

The CCTV camera in this place had already been turned off for the duration of what happened. It would show the same loop as the past 15 minutes.

Soon, the track of what happened to these females would disappear.

Rika finally reached home, but as soon as she opened the door, she could tell something was wrong. It was never this quiet in the dorm.

Rika quickly opened the door and walked toward the kitchen. Their dorm lady was putting out dishes without a care in the world.

She was also alone, and it felt weird not to see Fey helping her.

“Aana, are you working alone today? Did Fey not help you out?”

Rika asked as she sat down at the table. The older woman had forbidden her from helping in the kitchen unless the situation was dire.

The older lady hummed in a worried voice before replying.

“Well, Fey and Charon went out to take Shuu on a walk. They dropped Shuu off and then went out again. But they are somehow not back yet. I feel worried but trust them to care for themselves much more than others.”

The older lady’s words were a jab. Rika felt the sweat travel down her spine when she heard the older lady speak such words.

“Ah, would you look at the time! I should head to my room to freshen up! I will come down as soon as I have showered and changed.”

Rika made her way back to her room quickly and changed.

Flourite was already sitting at the table when she came down for dinner. He was also furiously calling and texting on his phone.

“What happened? You look angry and frustrated. Is there anything I can help you with?”

Rika asked as she sat down in front of Flourite.

The man looked at Rika with a frustrated expression on his face.

“Fey is not picking up her phone or replying to the messages I am sending her. She has never been this neglectful toward me before. This is making me feel worried about her. Fuck! What the hell is she doing that makes her ignore me!”

Flourite asked in a worried voice as he looked down at his phone. He could not believe that he had to deal with such things.

Rika felt sorry for the man, so she also pulled her phone out.

The result was the same for Charon and Fey: They both did not pick up the phone.

Ultimately, Flourite ate dinner with a worried face and sat on the drawing room sofa to welcome his sister back as soon as she came.

Half an hour turned into a full hour and then two. Neither Charon nor Fey made their way back.

“Just where have those two disappeared to? I’m not even angry anymore! I am just worried about them. What the hell could have happened?”

Flourite asked, and Rika did not want to answer. She could think of many things that could have happened to those two.

“Should I call the police and make a report? I can lie and say it has already been more than 24 hours. What about-”

Flourite looked out of his mind with worry, and he had good reason for it.
