Chapter 343: Ch 343: Just let it go
“Rika, are you alright? My uncle can be a little much-”

Zhu Li tried to calm Rika down, but he quickly stepped back when he noticed how angry Rika was and how she kicked the can in front of her.

“Your stupid uncle and his stupid bullshit! Does he think that people enjoy this bullshit! I’m going to kill him if I ever get a chance to.”

The poor dustbin had a dent where Rika had kicked it. But this did nothing to get rid of her anger. It made her even angrier, and she kicked the bin again.

Zhu Li quickly took another few steps back so he would not be the next victim of Rika’s anger. But he still tried to soothe her.

“Let’s calm down a little, Rika. Things are not as bad as they could be! Look at the positive side – your friends will be fine if you cooperate with your uncle. That’s nice, right?”

Zhu Li asked with a sweaty face. But Rika was not having it.

“The only reason my friends are in danger is because of your uncle in the first place! If not for him, then no one would be in this mess. You! Stop talking! You are just digging your grave further and further by speaking.”

Rika warned the older alpha, and he quickly quietened down.

There was silence for a whole minute before Rika turned toward Zhu Li again.

He flinched, wondering what else Rika could say to burn him. But Rika did not want to ask him anything difficult.

“Give me a ride back to the city. It is too late to take public transport and return on time. There is no direct train or metro from here to my destination either.”

Rika complained, and Zhu Li finally let out a relieved sigh.

It was a good sign that Rika had asked him for help. His car was parked nearby, so he quickly decided to get it.

That left Rika alone in the middle of the triad’s base, and she was not afraid of anyone who could come up to her.

It did not take a minute for someone to walk up to Rika and nudge her.

“Hey, are you new here? I don’t think I’ve seen you around. What do you say about going out with me for a bit? I promise I will not try anything…much!”

An alpha walked up to Rika and stood behind her. Rika was aware of the look in his eyes, so she did not flinch when the man reached for her hand.

She hoped the man would stop before Rika was forced to deal with him, but that did not happen. He touched Rika’s wrist (likely to pull her closer), which was Rika’s cue to grab his arm and push him down.

Rika took out her suppressant shot out of habit but quickly realized she did not need to waste it.

This man was not under the influence of his pheromones anyway.

“Y-You! What are you doing? Aren’t you an omega? Your pheromones…shit, you don’t have any! You tricked me.”

The alpha cursed and quickly shifted the blame on Rika. She was not surprised when that happened.

An Alpha would never admit that he was in the wrong. He would constantly shift the blame on someone else if he could help it.

This alpha was doing the same, and Rika could only sigh in irritation when that happened.

“Shut up! I don’t want to hear your crap anymore! I never said I was an omega, and I did not entice you to come to me either. It was all your disillusion that made you believe it.”

Rika warned the alpha before her, and the man gasped in shock. He could no longer handle Rika’s aggression and cursed as Rika twisted his arm hard.

“L-Let me go! Hey, let me go now! You will break my wrist if you keep applying pressure like this! Shit! A-Ah, let go now.”

The man cried out, but Rika had no intention of letting him go.

Zhu Li was the salvation that greeted the injured alpha.

“What is going on here? Rika, maybe you should let that man go now. He looks to be in pain.”

Zhu Li seemed doubtful about his decision to support Rika. However, Rika made his decision easier by letting the alpha go.

The man cursed before he leveled Rika with a poisonous glare.

“Fuck you! It is all your fault that I am hurt this badly! No one would want to befriend someone as violent as you, much less date you.”

The alpha cursed as he looked at Rika. But she was not offended by his words.

Instead, Lisa let out an amused chuckle at his expanse.

“Oh really! Well, how funny that you say this. You will break my dear mate’s heart. They went to such great lengths to court me as well.”

Rika made a sad gesture, but her eyes were hard and unyielding. She was not letting this man get away with insulting her and her family like this.

It made the unknown alpha grit his teeth, but then he noticed Zhu Li and knew he could not cause more trouble.

Anything he said and did would be reported to their boss, who was not known to be merciful.

“Fuck it! I’m leaving now. One day, your pride will cause you to fall hard, kid! You are a beta, so stay in your lane. Do you think your mates will stick with a beta their whole lives? You should rethink your choices.”

The man yelled before he disappeared. Rika was unsurprised to hear those last words, but Zhu Li was already tracking that man down.

“Rika, signal me, and I’ll care for that man. Trask like that does not belong anywhere near us. I apologize for your experience with a member of our gang.”

Zhu Li bowed in front of Rika, but she was not offended.

“Nah, it’s fine! I always hear things like these, so I’m not offended. Just let it go.”
