Chapter 347: Ch 347: It’s better to die together
‘Shit! I was joking when I said that Damian and Emily might be waiting for me at the entrance! I did not expect them actually to be waiting for me here! What should I do? Should I head out and say something?’
Rika felt awkward as she stood before her dorm and looked at the pair before her with blank eyes.
“My dear! Don’t you have anything to say to us? For example – where you are coming from! Are you going to hide things from us now?”
Emily’s expression looked cold and a little annoyed. But she was still showing how she felt toward Rika.
On the other hand, Damian was as cold as a block of ice, making Rika feel a little nervous.
She had no idea what the man was thinking behind that poker face. It could be anything from wanting to kill Rika to fucking her stupid.
‘I need to stop thinking about dirty thoughts! This is not the time to let my mind wander like this.’
Rika shook her head to get rid of her thoughts before she faced the pair in front of her.
“Whatever you heard- it didn’t happen! I am fine, and I am not in danger. You don’t have to worry about anything!”
Rika assured the pair in front of her, but neither looked assured.
Ultimately, she knew she would not be able to escape them. It was just better to accept her fate.
“Just give me a minute to talk to my dorm mates, and I’ll be back out here soon. Can you at least wait that long?”
From the impatient expression Rika got back, it was clear that it was not an option for her. Still, Rika kept calm and walked past the alpha pair.
They did not stop Rika because they trusted her to come back. This much trust made Rika feel good but also scared.
Rika’s return was met with two pairs of relieved eyes.
“You are finally back, Rika! We have good news! We were finally able to contact Charon and Fey after so long! They are both safe!”
The landlady greeted Rika with these words, and they immediately made Rika feel better.
Flourite still looked scared for his sister, but his expression had eased out a lot.
“Fey messaged to tell us that Charon’s phone accidentally broke during their sudden trip, and her phone had no signal! This often happens because her provider is a little… problematic! That girl! I keep telling her to change her provider.
But anyway! The nice thing is – they assured us that they would be back tomorrow or the day after. Isn’t that good news?”
Rika felt worried but glad at the same time. It was fortunate that I decided to accept.
“Yeah! This is good news indeed! Charon and Fey are my friends, so I am happy they will return soon.”
Rika somehow forced her cheerfulness into her tone, but it did not sound as happy as she wanted her voice to sound.
Neither Flourite nor the landlady noticed this. They were too happy and relieved to see much else.
“Ah, Anna. I wanted to inform you that I will also stay out tonight and tomorrow. Would you mind if I did?”
Rika asked timidly, but the landlady was too happy to stop her.
“Sure! You are free to do what you want to! This place is your home, not your prison you are bound to! But really! With the amount of actual time you spend here, this might as well be a hotel for you.”
The landlady said this all in a calm tone.
She clearly meant nothing of what was being said, but Rika still felt terrible about being called out like this.
“Anna, it is not my fault that the situation turned out to be as it did. But I will try to be home more often starting next week.”

Rika would not make any promises when she knew she could not keep them.
Her life was unpredictable, so there was no way to tell what would happen next.
‘More than that, I feel Emily and Mark will not let me leave their den soon. I can just feel their desire to monopolize me. But the question is – would I even mind that?’
The answer scared Rika, so she decided not to voice it inside her mind. She was too far gone already.
As soon as Rika came out, her sides were grabbed by the pair before she was dragged toward their car.
Rika was pushed inside without a word before her seatbelt was fastened, and Damian drove off.
Either alpha was not holding Rika for the first time in forever, which annoyed and scared her.
The alphas also did not speak much, which suggested that they were angry at Rika for something.
But surely that was not the case! No matter how these two pretended to be, they had no reason to be angry at Rika! She had not done anything wrong.
“Emily, Damian, will you not say anything to me this whole time? If you are going to keep ignoring me, then stop the car! I will get down here so I don’t have to deal with this awkward silence…”
The car suddenly turned, causing Rika to lose track of her thoughts. Her heart skipped far too many beats after what had just happened.
But one look at Damian was enough to tell her that the elder did not care what he had just done. Damian would not have cared a bit if this car had crashed!
His eyes were blank, and it scared Rika a little bit.
“We don’t like it when you hide things from us, Rika! If you are going to be this horrible to us, then it will be better to die together. Right, Dami! That was what you thought as well, right?”
Emily asked with a smile, but it made her look scary instead of reassuring like she was going for…most likely.
