Chapter 36: Ch 36: A gift for Darling
“Why do you want to sell me? You do know that you won’t get away with this. Whether my family likes me or not, they will not allow you to go freely once they realise what you did.”

Rika threatened the man back with her family and what would happen to him once his crimes were found out.

But to Rika’s surprise, the man did not appear the least bit fazed by her threat.

“Ha! Your family can try. But from how they respond, I doubt they will care much for me and what I do. Look! They did not even send anyone after us by now.”

That was true.

If it had been any other family, then this duration of time would not have been a big deal. But Rika’s family belonged to a mafia. Their response time was quick, and even the most minor threat was dealt with swiftly.

Under such circumstances, their delay in coming after Rika was a mystery. It could mean they were planning something significant and were being cautious, or it could mean they simply didn’t care. Rika was unsure which scenario she dreaded more.

Rika was not sure which one she wanted less to happen.

“Anyway, you do not need to worry about it soon. I will ensure that your new owner is gentle and will treat you well. Or, would you be smart enough to dispose of your body and cover their tracks?”

The kidnapper assured Rika before they arrived in front of a massive mansion on the outskirts of the city.

A dark and dense forest surrounded the building. The mansion was big, and it had well-maintained security as well.

There were about a dozen people standing guard outside the gate, and they stopped the kidnapper and his car.

Rika’s heart had a sliver of hope that these people would save her once they saw her. But that died down as soon as someone looked inside the window and looked at her.

“What’s that, man? Another omega for the boss? This one does not even smell as sweet as the last one did. She cannot compete with the boss’s ‘darling.’ You might as well give up.”

The guard laughed at his words as he looked at Rika again. His eyes moved up and down Rika’s frame, stopping at her face again.

“Hey, if the boss does not want this one, can we have her? She looks like a fine omega to fuck, even with a scent blocker in place. I am sure we will have fun.”

The guard winked at Rika, which made her gag. She did not want to spend any time with these lowlifes.

“You fell for it as well. Listen, men! That bitch back there might look like an omega, but she’s a beta. And a high-pedigree one at that. You cannot afford her.”

The kidnapper replied to the guard, and it made Rika feel sick to her stomach.

She was not a product for these people to talk about. And especially not in front of her like this.

“A beta? Seriously? With that kind of face? Is it hard to find omegas as pretty as that, much less a beta? Then, is that a gift for the boss’s ‘darling’ rather than the boss himself?”

The guard asked, and the kidnapper nodded.

“Of course! I will finally have more than enough money to retire after I do this. I need to get this one thing down and am free.”

The man sounded happy to be free finally. Rika felt her heart skip more than a few beats when she heard that conversation.

“Sure! Go inside. You are lucky that the boss is not in here. It is just his ‘darling’ in there alone. You can ask that stupid little shit to pay any amount of money to you, and you will be set.”

The guard laughed before he opened the door for the kidnapper and Rika to enter.

Rika felt sicker the closer she got to that mansion. At that moment, she would rather be anywhere else than here.

“Let’s go in now. Remember to behave at your best from this point on. This might be the person who would determine your future.”

The kidnapper warned Rika, but she had no intention of listening to him or doing what he wanted Rika to do.

Rika’s heart skipped a beat when the door opened and that kidnapper reached for her. She was sure he would unlock her legs and give Rika enough room to counterattack.

“Oops, I should put this on you before I forget! We cannot have you doing what you want and causing trouble for the darling.”

Sui felt something snap around her wrist and looked down at the bracelet.

“Don’t think of acting up too much. This bracelet has the power to make you sleep forever. But I am sure you can already feel how potent it is.”

The kidnapper asked, and Sui could feel that needle pricking her skin shallowly.

Whatever was in this bracelet made Rika feel lethargic, and her energy levels felt non-existent.

Even breathing felt difficult for her, much less keeping her body straight and walking behind the kidnapper.

The man grabbed Rika’s arms and dragged her behind him. He had no intention of letting Rika run away from his clutches.

“Currently, there is poison in your system that can cause you extreme harm. You will need to take regular detoxification medicines if you want to live. That is why you need to be a good girl and behave from now on. Only then will you be able to survive.”

The kidnapper warned Rika, and she knew that he was telling the truth. Something about the way he looked made Rika feel afraid.

Ultimately, she was tugged inside by that kidnapper, and everyone instantly looked at her.

The butler was the first person who greeted them, and these words snapped all hope Rika had of being rescued by these people.

“Mister seller, welcome. The guard told me you had something for the boss’s current partner. Please follow me. ‘Darling’ is waiting for you.
