Chapter 368: Ch 368: Find her at all costs
“Alpha Steinz, thank god we found you! Your father and mother are demanding for you to head home right now. They say that they need to meet you to confirm if you are still in a condition to handle things or not-”

Secretary Hong wasted no time in finding Emily and Damian. He quickly approached the female alpha, but he paused as soon as he noticed the storming expression on Emily’s face.

The female alpha was not smiling.

Her face looked far too stoic for her to show any emotion. Looking at her was enough to make the secretary step back in shock.

“Secretary Hong, you told me Rika got off that ship before us, right? Then, why can’t I see her here? Where is Rika?”

Emily asked as she stalked the secretary.

Every step she took seemed to push the secretary further and further away until his back hit the pole behind him, and he felt his heart freeze.

For the first time in his life, Secretary Hong felt fearful of the person he served and could not speak a word.

“I…alpha…I…my duty was to…”

The secretary tried to force these words out, but his throat felt like it was being blocked.

He wanted to say that his only priority was Emily Steinz, but he realized he would die if he admitted the truth.

“So, you lied to me! You assured me Rika was fine, so I would leave that ship and head here? How dare you lie to me.”

The secretary was suffocating under the pressure of the alpha pheromones now.

This high density of pheromones had made others move toward their side to see what was happening. But as soon as they did, they quickly turned their head back away so that they would not incur the alpha’s wrath.

“So, you lied to me? I cannot believe I trusted someone like you. Dami, you were right. Since that’s the case, you can do whatever you want with him. I no longer want to see this man’s face.”

Emily handed over the punishment to Damian, and that thought terrified the omega secretary.

He still had a chance of mercy if Alpha Emily handled his punishment. She was soft-hearted toward her people and forgave quickly.

Indeed, a single omega would not cause her to lose her reason and banish Secretary Hong forever. He could claim this was an accident and did not mean to lie.

But Damian Rodric, on the other hand… was a complete monster to these things.

‘I-I will not survive if I face him. I need to beg for my life. I need to beg for my life right now and make sure Alpha Steinz handles my punishment.’

The secretary did not wait around for anything. He grabbed Emily Steinz’s legs and begged her to listen to him.

“Miss Emily, I know I was wrong! Please, give me another chance to atone for my sins. I promise that I only lied because it was for your good. I wanted you to get out of that sinking ship on time. How could you blame me for doing my duty?”

The secretary asked as he kept holding on to the alpha’s legs.

He was letting out distressed pheromones to ensure that the alpha and the others in the surroundings felt his desperation and sincerity.

If he showed enough remorse while being true to himself, surely the alpha in front of him would also understand that all he did was for her sake?

Emily Steinz’s eyes looked cold when he dared to look up and see what she looked like.

It made the secretary’s smile freeze in place, and his insides went cold with fright.

“Damian, will you take over now or not? I cannot handle this anymore. If you don’t want to take over, then I will kill this man now and be done with everything.”

Emily warned, and the secretary looked at Damian Rodric to see what he would do.

The next ten seconds were the fastest of the secretary’s life.

He was grabbed and thrown over someone’s shoulder and right into the water. His body hit the water hard, and the impact left him winded.

The secretary knew he needed to struggle and swim toward the surface, but his head felt disoriented, and he did not know which side was up or down anymore. He was just drowning and fighting to get to the top.

His arms finally broke the surface before his mouth did. But as soon as he got his first gulp of air, Damian’s huge hand landed on his head and pushed it back down the water.

The secretary’s face was full of water, and a lot of it entered his body through his mouth.

He gasped for breath, but all he got was more and more water in his system. He could not even relax and get it all out.

“A-Alpha…. please…forgive…me…”

The secretary managed to get these words out, but Damian acted like he did not even hear them.

It made the secretary confident that he would die today.

Thankfully, Alpha Emily held up to her character, and she decided to stop Damian Rodric with a stressed face.

“Damian, it’s okay for now. Let the secretary Hong up. He might have lied to us about Rika, but he is also an excellent lead in getting to her.

I refuse to believe that Rika is dead. She has survived far too much to go down like this. She must be out there, waiting for us to save her. So, we need to find her quickly.”

Emily showed a disappointed face toward the secretary’s survival, and she also walked past him when Damian threw his collapsed body on the ground.

That was how the secretary knew he had lost Emily’s favor, and there was no way to get it back in his life.

“I know, Damian. Believe me when I say that I want to kill Secretary Hong as well. But we might as well use him before we discard him, right? He will be the best asset in finding out where Rika is now.

Remember, Secretary Hong, your survival depends on whether we find Rika in the next month.”
