Middle Child Syndrome - Chapter 369
Chapter 369: Ch 369: All Help Needed
“Remember, Secretary Hong, your survival depends on whether we find Rika next month. If we don’t find her, then you would wish you were dead instead of being alive and working for us.”
Emily did not make ideal threats. The secretary knew that, and he felt fear go down his spine.
He tried to open his mouth to speak, but nothing came out of his mind. He was numb with fear and shock.
But no one moved to make him feel better.
People looked pitifully at him, but no one was brave enough to tell him everything would be fine.
Instead, people quickly looked away from the man before them and continued their day.
Emily felt stressed but had no time to think about her feelings. She needed to track down Rika, and she needed to do that fast.
“Damian, I will inform the Goodwill family about what happened. I’m not sure how much they will be willing to help us, but I am sure they will not ignore us.”
Emily assured the older alpha, who was going out of his mind.
It might not look like it, but she could tell that Damian was about to lose his mind any second now and kill a lot of people with his pheromones alone.
The worst part was that Emily did not think she would care if Damian erupted here. She might follow him and be unable to keep her pheromones in check if she had as much thought about Rika.
“Excuse me, Alpha Steinz, Alpha Rodric; I would like to offer my assistance in looking for Rika Goodwill. I know you have problems with me currently, but it would be best to let me join this search party.”
Ren Li walked toward the alpha pair before him and offered his assistance.
He felt terrible about what happened to Rika and how she had disappeared. It had not been a part of his plan, and the older dominant alpha knew he was responsible for what had happened.
Damian let out a growl, and he attacked Ren Li.
He was fast, but Ren Li had been in the field much longer than Damian. Even if the younger had a few more dominant pheromones than Ren Li, he was also a dominant alpha.
As such, he could stand his ground and dodge from Damian’s grip.
“Calm down, Alpha Rodric. I understand that you have no desire to listen to me, much less acknowledge my words. But it would be best if you could listen to me once. I know those low-lives who kidnapped Rika better than anyone else on this planet.
If not, Rika must have survived because she got taken hostage by the people I was trying to bust there. It was a human trafficking ring based around the triads, and it has feelings all over the world.
If you look for it alone, it will take years, not even decades, to find someone like Rika. So please allow me to help you out. This will make up for what happened with her.”
The dominant alpha let Damian Rodric have the last punch out of respect to show that he was serious about helping the pair.
As soon as that loud sound of cheeks being smacked reached people’s ears, they looked away from the scene.
No one wanted to see the scene of a dominant alpha hitting another dominant alpha and then being killed for seeing this.
“You want to help out! Oh! So now you want to make up for it! To begin with, you should not have involved my omega in all of this! What did you think would happen? Rika is…”
Emily trailed off, her mouth not working under all her stress. It felt too little and too much at the same time.
She was suffocating under her feelings, and there was no one to ground her. Damian had already lost his shit, and his dominant pheromones descended over the clearing, causing most people to faint and gasp for breath.
The world seemed to be ending, and the sky was spinning. But none of it mattered to Emily. She wanted this world to end so that she would join Rika in the afterlife and-
“Tsk, both of you are such handfuls. If you don’t calm yourself down, then you won’t be able to find my granddaughter. Since you seem to be struggling, I will send you my hand and resources. You should feel blessed about it.”
Emphemia Lawlock was the last person anyone expected to speak out.
The younger female alpha did not know much about the ex-Lawlock alpha, but she knew she had been a tyrant in her time.

Her influence over the mafia and related fields was still massive, and she could find any information she wanted anywhere.
But that was not why Emily felt suspicious.
She felt suspicious because she never expected the older female to care about Rika’s well-being. The Lawlock alpha had not even looked at Rika in the past, so why was she starting to care now?
“Don’t question my decisions, kid! The reason I am willing to help you has nothing to do with you. I just want my granddaughter to come home. I need to see her once more to confirm something.”
The older female assured Emily about this, but just a hint of desperation behind her eyes made her certain there was more to this story.
Not that she cared about anything except finding Rika.
She was willing to take any help needed to achieve that, even if it came from someone she did not get along with.
“Help us find Rika. I promise I will someone you however you want us to.”
Emily requested, and the older woman let out a sigh.
“You don’t have to offer me anything like that. Rika is…family to me as well. I only want ten minutes with her, and no one will interrupt us. If you can promise me this much, then all my help and resources are yours.”
The older woman offered, but it was not an offer Emily could deny.
