Chapter 371: Ch 371: It’s all about ‘Me’
‘That idiotic and rude bastard! How dare he threaten me! ME! Suzie Goodwill! I will show him who is the boss. I will tell Mark about what happened, and he will take care of this matter for me. He will-‘
Suzie stopped her thought as soon as she thought about telling Mark.
Despite knowing that Mark could assist her, Suzie was torn. She couldn’t bring herself to tell him what had happened, her internal conflict and indecision weighing heavily on her.
She could not tell him because she did not want to see his disappointed face when he looked at her.
Mark repeatedly warned Suzie not to fall for traps these useless alphas left behind and never to let herself get bitten. Now, Suzie has broken his trust with her actions.
She felt a palpable discomfort about returning home, and her unease was evident in her every step.
Her clothes hid all her injuries and bite marks, but Suzie was sure that her scent must have changed as a bonded omega. She would be found out as soon as she stepped into the house.
‘Maybe I should get a custom perfume made with my original scent. That way, I can use it to mask my scent and-‘
“Suzie, you are back! Finally! I was so worried about you. First, that accident with Rika, and then you went missing! Do you have any idea how worried I was about you?”
Mark’s arms warped around Suzie’s shoulder, and he hugged her tightly.
It hit Suzie’s breath, and she could not process what had happened.
Mark was already pulling away with a frown when she realized what happened.
“Suzie, why do you smell so weird? Are you using perfumes to mask your scent? But why? And it is not even a good one at that. Ugh, I can complain about that later. For now, I need to finish what I was working on.”
Mark dragged Suzie inside without asking many questions, which made Suzie both glad and annoyed.
“Dad, Mom, Suzie is back. We don’t need to worry about it anymore. We can spend all our time and resources on finding Rika now.”
Mark assured her parents, and Suzie immediately felt a stab of annoyance in her chest.
She had disappeared for two days, and was this the only response she got? These people should be clutching her shoulder and demanding answers from her, right? This was not fair for her.
“Ah, it’s good that you are back, Suzie. Next time you decide to stay out, please call us. You had us worried for no reason. But since you are back, we can focus all our resources on finding Rika now.”
Natasha Goodwill looked relieved. She did not rush over to check up on Suzie.
It was all odd, and Suzie did not like it. She did not like the fact that she was not being pampered over.
Why was no one fuzzing over her when she had not been home for two days? Just what did Rika do to make the whole family care about her?
“Mother, are you not curious about what I was doing outside for two days? Are you not going to ask me anything?”
Suzie asked her mother calmly. She wanted to know what her mother would say about this.
But Natasha did not say anything to her daughter. She was too busy checking her phone.
“I am sure it’s okay if you spend a few days out, Suzie. You are at an age where you can be held responsible for your actions. You are about to reach adulthood, so I must give you some freedom.”
Natasha assured her daughter and Suzie they felt much more annoyed than before.
The only one who seemed to notice Suzie’s mood was her father. But even he looked too busy with his screen to pay her much attention.
Everyone was busy, and Suzie needed more time for everyone. This made her seething mad, and she could not take it anymore.
“You are all bullies! Why is it all about Rika this and Rika that when I am in this condition? Why don’t you care about what happened to me?”
Suzie had decided to hide her bond mark from her family, but she quickly tore her bandages and let her marked scent hit the air.

Even if her outburst had not gotten her family’s attention, her scent would surely get it.
She was sure these people would fuzz over her once they realized someone had marked Suzie.
As Suzie expected, everyone froze when she uncovered her bite marks and scent. They were frozen in shock, and no one knew what to say.
“What? Why have you all gone quiet now? Go back to doing what you were doing. Since no one seems to care for me, I do not intend to tell you what happened.”
Suzie made the statement and was about to turn away and walk out when Mark grabbed her arm.
“What did you do? Suzie, what the hell did you do to get marked by someone? It is not even your heat cycle, and yet…this happened? Why did you have to cause trouble at such a delicate time?”
Mark asked in an angry voice. His tight grip made Suzie flinch, but she refused to step back or look away from him.
“Hump! Why don’t you guess what happened? Oh, wait! You are too busy with Rika to care about poor little Suzie anyway! Just go back to looking over Rika now and leave me alone.”
Suzie yelled back in an emotional voice. She was getting increasingly invested in this fight by the second, and Mark decided he would not take any more of it.
His hand collided with Suzie’s cheek, but he held back so that he would not end up injuring her.
But the damage had been done, and Suzie looked betrayed after being hit by him.
“You hit me! Mark, you hit me! How can you? I will never forgive you for this.”
