Chapter 372: Ch 372: Spiraling Situation
Mark had held most of his strength back so he would not leave a mark on Suzie’s perfect skin. But a single look at her face was enough to tell him that he failed.
A stark, crimson mark marred Suzie’s otherwise flawless face, a sight that left her in shock. Her hand trembled as she reached for her cheek, her mind reeling with disbelief at what had just transpired.
Her cheek felt hot and throbbing as soon as her brother backed away. But it was Suzie’s heart that was burning for real.
“Mark, what are you doing? Can’t you see that Suzie is in shock, so she is taking her anger out on you? Suzie, my baby! What happened? Let me see… hissss! Who marked you? Tell me a name, and I will end that low-life.”
Suzie looked at her father with gratitude for his care, but as soon as he made this treat, she quickly backed away and hid her face.
“Father, it’s nothing. I don’t want to make a fuss. It was just a sudden rush of heat, and this happened. I’m sorry; I didn’t mean to worry you.”
Suzie cried before her father, and his heart immediately softened as he looked at the precious omega before him.
This was the child he had pain-stalking raised and gotten the closest to. He could not abandon her, no matter what happened.
He was about to reassure Suzie that it was alright when Natasha walked over toward them, and she grabbed Suzie’s face a little harshly before turning her neck away.
“This bite mark looks relatively fresh and clean. Do you remember what that alpha who marked you looked like? We must head there and negotiate with him to break this bond. Suzie, tell us all you know about that alpha. I would rather finish dealing with this and return to looking for Rika.”
Suzie felt warm and fuzzy when her father cared and fuzzed over her.
But her mother’s words felt like a cruel stab in her heart. She tried to open her mouth, but nothing escaped her except a sob.
“You don’t care about me at all, Mom! It’s all about Rika this and Rika that. Ever since she left home, you forgot that you also had other kids. I hate this! I want to head back to my room now.”
Suzie yanked her face and hand out of her parent’s hands, quickly running up and slamming the door behind her.
Even showing up in this condition was insufficient for her mother to prioritize Suzie. Then, just what would make her turn back into the mother Suzie used to know?
Her bite mark also throbbed after being away from her partner for so long. It was new and painful, causing Suzie to curse out loud.
“Fuck! Nothing is going right for me. Grandmother said she would meet me soon but has not contacted me for some time. What should I do now? God! What the hell do I do?”
Suzie asked, but no one had an answer for her. All she could do was feel like she was drowning in her misery. Once more, this was all Rika’s fault. It was always Rika’s fault when these things happened.
…
“Suzie, come back here. Suzie! That girl-! Egh, did she cause trouble again?”
Mark grabbed his aching head as he watched his sister disappear up the stairs. He wanted to head after her right now and shake her around, but he controlled his emotions and decided to stay back.
She needed some time and space to cool off after what happened.
“Mark, don’t say that about your sister! Suzie might have had a few…issues these days, but we need to be supportive of her now that she went through something traumatic. You both stay here. I will go and check on her.”
The younger alpha looked at his father with an appreciative expression. He was thankful that the older male was here because Mark had no idea what to do without him.
Natasha sighed as she watched her husband chase after their daughter. She was shocked to see what happened to Suzie and her marked neck.
Of everyone in this household, Suzie was the last one Natasha had expected to be careless and get bitten like this.
*Sigh*
“We are already so busy with Rika, and we must add Suzie’s trouble to the list. I feel so frustrated. I wish I could close my eyes and pretend this is all a nightmare.”
Mark commented, and Natasha felt the same. Her life was beginning to feel like a nightmare that she wanted to wake up from.
But no matter what she did, she felt dragged deeper and deeper into this mess.

“Mark, did we get any report from Damian or Emily? Have they contacted us at all after they gave us the news of what happened to Rika?”
Natasha asked in a tired voice, but Mark shook his head.
“No. There has been no contact after that. Do you think they found something?”
Mark asked, and Natasha shook her head. She still remembers how she felt when Emily broke the news about what had happened to the trio in her house.
It had been a casual morning for them, where the eldest three in the house were enjoying their time together.
But it was just early enough for Suzie not to be up while everyone else decided to gather and have some quiet time. The servants were also sparse at this time, so it was the perfect time to ask for privacy.
Natasha’s phone ringing broke the calm and serene atmosphere of this time. She had picked up the call without looking at who the caller had been.
But out of everyone, Natasha did not expect Emily to call her at this time. The second Natasha heard her voice, she realized that this was going to be an emergency and that it had something to do with Rika.
Those were the only two cases Emily Steinz would call her this urgently.
