Chapter 380: Ch 380: We don’t need to know
“As you know, I did not mean to ignore Rika. I did try to like her when she came here at first, but then Suzie came, and I became busy with her. Plus, you ignored Rika all the time, and that caused me not to like her even more.
You never scent-marked her or came close to her. You were cold to her, which kept giving my omega more and more reasons not to approach Rika. Won’t you say that this is all your fault?”
The male omega’s voice rose, filled with frustration and hurt, before he caught himself. He hadn’t intended to lay all this blame on his alpha.
But now that this conversion was happening, he wanted to clear the air.
Natasha listened to what her husband had to say, which frustrated her. She had seldom snapped at her partner, but this was one of the times she did.
“I only kept my distance from Rika before you did not scent marked her. You were the pack omega, and it was your task to ensure the pack stayed together.
Do you think you were the only one whose instincts were acting weird? I wanted to pay attention to Rika, but she had no scent of yours. It made my alpha dislike her, and I kept fighting against it.
Don’t pin it all down on me when it is our fault.”
Natasha snapped back.
She would not have said all this if she had not felt as stressed as she did. All her emotions were bursting out of her chest and pouring out of her lips.
Her husband looked stunned before anger converted his eyes.
“The only reason I rejected Rika is because she did not mind! I don’t know who the donor for her was, but I-”
“No, wait! What are you talking about? You were the one who donated for her. Don’t you remember anything? You promised I could take a sample of your release and use it to have a baby. I thought you knew about that.”
Natasha stopped her husband from speaking up, and he looked shocked. But it did not take long before he sighed and relaxed.
“I…do recall some of that. But my instincts tell me that Rika is not my child. I know it sounds ridiculous, but are you sure the doctors used my sample to fertilize the egg? Did you ever check back on it?”
Natasha felt shaken at the news, so she placed a hand on her eyes to hide her disbelief.
Even after all these years, she had never doubted Rika’s identity. But a single line from her husband changed her view, and she let out a startled laugh.
“Ha, is that what your instincts tell you? Why did you never tell me about this beforehand? It would have saved us so much trouble if you did. Should I bring out the test materials from back then and have it matched-”
Natasha asked in regret. She felt like she was sinking toward the bottom. Her emotions spiraled faster than she thought possible, and she felt unsettled.
Just as she was about to hit the bottom and give up on everything, Mark decided to walk down and cut the tension.
“You both are so frustrating! Does it matter anymore who Rika is? She has lived in this house as a goodwill for her whole life. No one gave her a choice, so we must keep this up.
Even if you look up and find that Rika does not have father’s blood in her body, what will you do? Will you finally break things off with her and throw her out? For what? Something she could not control?”
Mark asked, and he watched as his father opened and closed his mouth.
Natasha sighed in regret as well.
Even if what her husband said was true, nothing could be done about it.
This situation could have been handled if Rika’s identity had not been exposed at the company. But Natasha had Mark close off that chance.
“I will head back to my room for now. My head feels like it will break if I think anymore.”
The male omega quickly left, and Mark was suddenly alone with Natasha. He glared at his mother, and Natasha promptly looked away.
She felt uncomfortable under Mark’s gaze, showing how she held herself.
“Mother, forget about Rika’s origins. I will wipe off any information or record that reminds me about this. Make sure nothing ever leaks out from your side either.”

Mark promised, and he got to work. Natasha did not doubt that he would do a good job of erasing all the necessary evidence that he needed.
But her heartfelt conflicted. She wanted to know the truth about Rika and her origins. Was she not her partner’s blood? And if not, then why did the doctors do this to her?
Little did the two know they were not the only ones who heard what happened. Suzie suddenly had an incredible weapon that she could use anytime.
“You are right! There is not much we can do about this. I will go back to looking for Rika now. You should contact your grandmother and ask for her help now.”
Mark nodded, but he felt that something had gone wrong somewhere. Since he could not prove it, he decided not to pay attention to what was happening and went about his way.
Natasha waited until Mark was gone to make her phone call. The seed of doubt had been planted in her mind, and she needed answers now. She could not handle this situation until she had an answer.
“Hello, Madam! It’s been years since you last called us. What can we help you with?”
The hospital staff cheerfully greeted Natasha, but she was not in a mood to entertain them. She was here to ask questions that needed to be answered.
“Put me through the doctor who helped me with my pregnancy 19 years ago. Does he still work here? If not, call him in. Tell him it’s an emergency!”
