Chapter 389: Ch 389: Mouse in a trap
“E-Excuse me, but I don’t understand what you mean by those words. Why would you want access to my hotel? I mean, not that I am complaining or anything! I would love to have you lodge at our hotel. But I just don’t understand why-”

“You don’t have to know what I meant by that. Just ensure you give me the highest access and authority across the hotel. That is all I want from you.”

Damian Rodric did not expect the boss to escape this small request.

It made the boss feel angry, agitated, and ashamed not to be taken seriously. His pride felt wounded because of what just happened, and he quickly gritted his teeth to calm himself down.

‘This is fine! I don’t need to think and feel offended by all this. As long as I can have Damian Rodric under my favor, I can endure all this humiliation.’

The man took a deep breath before feeling calm enough to look at the man in front of him.

“I understand, Alpha Rodric. But handing over the authority of one of our largest franchises to you is a big deal. I cannot simply do it because you asked me to-”

The boss made the mistake of thinking that Damian was an easy target. He was so lost in what he would gain from this that he forgot that he needed to be careful of this man.

Damian did his best to remind the fool of his place soon enough.

The pressure that pressed against the boss felt too much. Breathing felt difficult, but he did his best to keep breathing.

He finally understood why everyone feared this dominant alpha and tried to be on his good side.

“I am not here to listen to your rambling. Nor do I have that much time. I am not telling you what will happen; I am demanding the rights. Now, we can do this the easy way or the hard way.”

The boss knew that he had made a mistake. He had gotten too over his head that he could dominate someone like Damian Rodric.

“Boss, are you alright? We will-”

Others came to help him out, but it was foolishness. There was no way they could stay stable with such harsh pheromones pushing at them from all sides.

“Y-You fools! Run away! G-Go! There is no need for you to be here. A-Alpha Rodric, please calm down! I was just joking around. How about we talk it all out and then reach a decision.”

The boss knew that he needed to do something before all his people got killed by Alpha Rodric. If that happened, he wouldn’t be able to handle the humiliation.

So, before he lost his position and his people, he needed to stabilize himself again.

Damian turned to look at the boss, making the boss stumble and take a step back. That pressure felt too much for someone like him to handle.

“Fine! You get one last chance.”

Damian finally controlled his pheromones, and the boss was able to breathe easier. He looked up and instantly felt scared of Damian once more.

But he quickly did as Damian had asked him to do. The hotel franchise was soon under Damian’s name, and the boss was several hundred thousand dollars down in profit.

“Don’t worry! I will give this place back to you once you are done. But you better not have touched what is mine!”

It was a warning and a threat mixed. When the boss heard those words, a shiver went down his spine.

He did not know what Damian meant by ‘touching his thing,’ but the boss could swear he had not done that.

The boss wanted to cry that he was innocent, but no one here would listen to him please.

Damian was out of there within a second, and the boss was left alone. The man could only sigh as he tried to get back up, but the excessive pheromones still in the air forced him to remain down.

He won’t be able to make it back today.

Rika continued to look for a chase to run away. But whenever she thought she had a chance, she spotted another guard following her discreetly.

There was nowhere for her to run properly.

Even if Rika felt confident that she could take these people out if she fought, the places and streets were just too crowded for her to get away fast enough.

Plus, she was sure that the police were in on this as well.

‘Tsk, so these people did bribe the police after all! I should have known that these thugs were not ordinary. But what do these people want with someone like me?’

Rika could not figure it out, so she went with the flow.

Before she knew it, she was back at the hotel, and this was her last chance to run away.

This area outside the hotel was the least crowded place Rika had been to, so she finally decided to take a chance and run away.

She grabbed the man beside her and then threw him over her shoulder.

He was heavy, but Rika could drag him as a shield against any weapons pointed toward her.’

“If you shot at me, then one of your people would get hurt. If you still want to go ahead and do it, then be my guest.”

Rika knew she should feel scared of the guns that were pointed at her, but she did not feel afraid.

Those guns made Rika feel liberated, almost as if she could remember being in this position.

But before Rika could take more steps, she smelled familiar pheromones that made her freeze. Then, she was grabbed from the back of her clothes and pulled up.

“Look at what we have here. A cute puppy is trying to threaten everyone? How cute!”

The red-haired female was dressed impeccably, and she looked gorgeous. She also smelled like a very familiar alpha, but Rika’s brain refused to give her an answer.

All she could do was struggle to escape that hold and run away.
