Middle Child Syndrome - Chapter 390
Chapter 390: Ch 390: Back home
Rika’s body had…interesting reactions about being held on to by that alpha.
She tried to jerk her hand out of that hold, but all the strength in her body seemed to have left it. Her hand did not move as those enchanting red eyes looked down at Rika.
She felt frozen in place as she looked up with a suspicious expression.
‘Who is this person? She looks and feels so familiar, but I am sure I have never seen her. My instincts are not screaming at me to yank my hand out.’
Rika was sure she knew this person, but she was also sure this was not the person she had felt before.
More than one person was making Rika feel this way, and that thought felt scary to her.
“Hmm, what’s wrong with you? Are you too excited to see me, and now you can’t even react to my presence? You don’t have to feel nervous with me, Rika. I promised you that I would protect you.”
The female reminded Rika with a smile on her face. But that was not why Rika was frowning.
She was trying her hardest to remember who this female was. It was almost as if Rika had the answer to her question when it slipped her mind once more, and she had to start from scratch.
“I’m sorry, but do I know you? You look and feel familiar, but I cannot recall where I met you. My memory is a little wonky these days, so I cannot recall many things properly. If I offended you, then blame it on my fucked-up mind.”
Rika apologized to the female holding on to her.
The female alpha looked taken aback by Rika’s words, and a rugged look entered her eyes.
The red-haired alpha tried to smile through the pain, but Rika could see it clearly on her face. For some reason, she felt guilty for being the cause of this female’s pain.
“Don’t worry about it. I am fine! You said that something is wrong with your memory. The one we should be worried about is you! What do you remember about your past?”
The female alpha turned out to be nice and concerned. Each word out of her mouth touched Rika, and he felt warm and fuzzy inside.
Now, she was sure she had an intimate relationship with this female. There was no other reason Rika could feel like she was now.
“Other than my first name, I can only recall bits and pieces of flashes that don’t make sense. I have no idea what is going on here. I can’t even recall who I am at the moment properly.”
Rika reminded the female standing behind her. She felt guilty about not being able to say anything to her.
But that did not seem to deter the female alpha. It made her look even more determined, and she grabbed Rika’s waist, pulling her close.
“Don’t worry about it. You will remember slowly as your mind gets used to being safe again. You don’t feel uncomfortable with me, right?”
The female asked as she stuck close to Rika.
Rika shook her head to indicate she did not feel awkward.
Her body seemed to melt against the alpha holding on to her, and it made her feel all nice and warm on the inside.
Rika was unsure what was happening but was sure she was happy about being in this woman’s arms. It calmed her mind down, and her body felt relaxed.
She finally felt like a content omega and even chirped out to show she felt safe.
The alpha froze at those actions, and Rika looked up, only to see a look of wonder on the alpha’s face at her actions.
At first, Rika was concerned that she had done something wrong. She was about to pull away and apologize when the alpha pulled her back into a proper hug.
“It’s fine! You can stay like this if you like. Don’t worry about a thing. Damian will take care of everything else for us. We should go and meet him now.”
The female alpha assured Rika. The sound of her voice and the name she spoke brought another sense of relief to Rika.
She suddenly felt safe and accepted when she was with these two.

‘Ah, it will all be fine now. I don’t need to worry anymore.’
That was what Rika’s instincts told her; she trusted them this time. She would not worry or let her instincts get the better of her.
…
‘Shit! Rika lost her memories! This is a huge thing we need to address. I should not be taking advantage of her like this…but is this taking advantage? Rika is close to me by herself. I did not force her to do anything.’
Emily was having a substantial mental crisis over how she should feel and treat this situation.
On the one hand, she wanted to do everything with Rika that she could not normally do with Rika. She wanted to ask her a tone of stuff that Rika never answered about herself.
But she also knew it would take advantage of Rika when she was down, and the omega would have much to say about it once she regained her memory.
‘It will all be fine! I don’t need to worry about a thing. Rika’s memory will come back soon. I just need to wait until then, and we can return to being a happy couple.’
There was a considerable possibility that Rika’s memory might never return, and she was stuck like this. However, Emily refused to acknowledge that thought as she took the omega inside.
She had to be certain that Rika would be fine. Otherwise, guilt would consume her, and Emily would be unable to think properly.
Damian was sitting in the middle of the lobby of this hotel, and he had all the paperwork done to take over it by now.
He looked up as soon as Rika and Emily entered the hotel room, but his eyes narrowed when he saw Rika avoiding his eyes.
