Chapter 392: Ch 392: Don’t put her on the spot
“We are finally back home after everything. So, you know what that means – we are now heading out and seeing a doctor. Rika, you don’t get to complain about it…”
Emily turned toward the younger female, expecting her to comment, but Rika said nothing.
She just looked a little lost as she took in everything around her.
Her expression looked adorable, making Emily want to tug her close and not let go. But she knew her sudden actions could startle Rika, so she did not touch or make her feel awkward.
But just because ‘she’ did not do it does not mean Damian would also get the message. He had been relatively close to her all this time.
He said his ‘instincts’ told him to stay with Rika and comfort her. Emily had no idea what he was trying to pull here, but she did not complain.
This was supposed to be a calm trip back, but then Emily saw the last people she wanted to see here – Natasha Goodwill and Mark Goodwill.
“Damian, we are taking the right path. It is not safe to go straight. We will run into trouble if we do.”
Emily whispered to the man beside her before she tried to move away discreetly. She did not want to be caught running away from the Goodwills.
Unfortunately for her, Mark spotted her and Damian (more Damian than her since he was so tall), and the pair quickly headed toward them.
Rika’s expression told Emily that she had no recollection of this pair. She had no idea who they were and why they were heading toward them.
But she did look uneasy, and that made Emily act out. She quickly stood before Rika to hide her from the couple’s gaze.
“Oh my! What do we have here? What can I help you with, Alpha Goodwill? I don’t remember telling you when and where our flight would land.”
Emily asked with a polite expression. She was trying her hardest not to show the agitation on her face, but it was tough.
She wanted to snap at the pair and lead Rika out of there simultaneously, but she could do neither, so she settled for passive-aggressive behavior.
“You did not have to tell us a thing for us to know when Rika would be home. You might not remember it, but Rika is family to us. Now, can I see my daughter? There is a lot I need to catch up with her about.”
Natasha Goodwill asked with a straight face. She was not beating around the bush, and her words sounded slightly sharp.
Emily could feel Rika gripping her shirt from behind. The female omega was not having a good time, and her distress was evident in her shaking and slight release of pheromones.
‘Shit! This is bad. I did not realize how much these pheromones from Rika can shake me up! I should not have confronted this here if I knew this would happen.’
Emily bit her lip from letting out a curse. She shared a quick look with Damian about getting Rika out of there as soon as possible.
The older alpha seemed to agree with Emily and pushed Rika’s back to get her moving.
Rika complied with his actions, and she started walking. Emily was also startled to escape, but Natasha and Mark followed them.
Mark expressed displeasure to them all once they were out of the public eye.
“Just what is your problem? All we want to do is meet Rika and talk to her. We are not pushing you for anything, so why are you butting in like this?”
Mark looked engaged, all for the right reasons.
He looked frustrated and agitated, and all for good reasons.
Emily would have behaved the same way if she had been in Mark’s position and someone had tried to keep her from seeing Rika.
However, there was also a fundamental difference between Mark and Emily.
“I am sorry! But I will not repeat myself. Rika does not want to see you, so please leave. Please don’t make me repeat myself once more.”
Emily asked, and Rika finally stopped shaking when she realized the pair was on her side.

Mark looked angry, but Natasha looked determined and cautious. She turned away from Emily to address Rika, the real person in charge of this situation.
“Rika, do you want us to go away? I don’t want to burden you with unnecessary things, so that I will leave this decision in your hands. If you want me to go back, I will not bother you for now. But you need to speak up for it to happen.”
Natasha left the decision up to Rika; it was a good way for her to escape any trouble and make it all Rika’s will.
But Emily did not like how it put Rika on the spot like this. She respected Natasha, but sometimes, the older alpha was too much.
“Don’t put her on the spot like this. Rika is-”
“It’s fine, Emily! I don’t mind standing my ground here. I would like to clarify this situation as well.”
Rika assured Emily, but they still felt awkward about letting Rika take the lead.
But she also felt like she had no choice in this matter. Rika had already shown that she was not going to back down.
“Miss, I don’t recall who you are and what you want with me. But I would rather not have you come near me. I don’t have many memories about what happened, but I know I don’t feel safe with you around.”
Rika’s words took Natasha aback. She looked beyond shocked to hear what Rika had to say, quickly backtracking a little and hiding her head in her hands.
“You lost your memories! When did that happen? And why did no one tell us about it? I thought you said that there was no need to worry about anything! This does not look like ‘nothing’ to me.”
Mark asked with a concerned look on his face.
