Chapter 405: Ch 405: Limited Choice
“Suzie, where are you? Are you in your room?”

Mark slammed Suzie’s door open, but she was not in her room, the standard room, the dining hall, or the garden. He could not find Suzie anywhere, and this worried him.

‘Where the heck did my little sister go? I need to find her before someone else does and cause her a mini-heart attack.’

Mark knew just how delicate his younger sister was. Suzie needed to be cushioned whenever she received dire news, and the news of her bond mate appearing in her house out of the blue was sure to be a big one.

Since none of the other methods worked, Mark decided to use his final weapon – his phone.

He called Suzie in hopes that she would pick up. She was not someone who went anywhere without her phone.

And Suzie picked up at the first ring.

“H-Hello, Mark! Help me out! I am stuck in the bathroom near the dining room! Someone locked the door from the outside, and I need your help. It must have been Rika who did this! When I get out of here….”

Suzie seemed to alternate between being scared and angry. Mark was unsure whether he should help or let her cool down first.

But then Suzie sobbed, making Mark’s desire to help her even more prominent.

“Don’t sound so down, Suzie. I am coming to help you out. You just need to keep hanging for some time more.”

Mark assured her that Suzie was finally freed as he quickly unlocked the door.

Suzie let out a sigh of relief as the door finally opened, and she took a step outside.

“Finally! I thought I would never be able to see the outside of the bathroom again. I don’t know why Rika would lock me in here, but I cannot let her escape. Mark, you won’t forgive Rika for this as well, right? You have to be on my side during this conflict, or I will-”

Suzie suddenly realized that something was wrong. Mark did not answer her, but he looked a little worried.

The lines on Mark’s face were familiar, and Suzie was sure she had seen him look like this only when something big happened.

“Mark, is everything alright? You are too quiet, and it is scaring me. You can talk to me about anything that is bothering you. I will listen to you and help you find a solution. You don’t need to keep things to yourself.”

Suzie promised as she reached out to grab Mark’s face and check up on him.

The older alpha finally sighed and decided to let Suzie know what was going on.

“Suzie, I need you to be calm and not faint when I tell you what happened. I know it is shocking news, but you don’t need to be worried, alright?”

Mark tried to calm Suzie down, and that was how Suzie knew that something big had gone wrong.

And since Mark was trying to calm her down, it likely had something to do with her.

“What is going on here? Stop beating around the bush and answer me right now! This suspense is killing me.”

Suzie complained as she tried to calm her heating heart down. But no matter what she did, it refused to calm down. Because of all this tension, Suzie felt like she would melt and break down.

“Your bond-mate is here. He claims he wants to make things right with you and accept you as his partner. Do you want to meet with him and talk things out?”

Suzie instantly stiffened when she heard those words. She wanted nothing to do with that son-of-a-bitch who forced her into heat and did whatever he wanted with her.

But Suzie also knew she had to comply with that man. He had used far too much blackmail on her for her to feel comfortable.

‘Tsk, talk about being between a rock and a hard place. Even if I don’t want anything to do with that man, my pregnant body wants to be neat, that asshole, and inhale his pheromones. Why did I have to get knocked up because of this encounter?’

Suzie bit her lip, and Mark took it as a sign, saying she did not want to meet the alpha.

“I will go and make that man return. I can tell that you want nothing to do with him. You don’t have to force yourself to meet him, Suzie.”

Mark assured her, and Suzie felt relieved and agitated at the same time.

As much as she wanted to send this man back, she knew it would come back to bite her later. She needed to keep that man with her for now.

“It’s okay! I will meet my bond mate. No matter how much I don’t like my situation, it is true that we ended up being mated. I need to take responsibility and not run away from my situation.”

Suzie also needed to shut this man’s mouth so he would not cause her any trouble, but that was for a different time. For now, she had a goal to accomplish.

“I…you don’t have to force yourself, Suzie…”

“I am not. Now, let’s hurry up and head back. Mother will be unable to hold her temper back and end up doing something she will regret soon.”

Suzie knew her mother well, so naturally, she also knew her mother’s temper.

Her mother was not one to hold back when she was like this, and she was not about to hold back now just because someone claiming to be Suzie’s partner came back.

It would be a bloodbath if Suzie did not interfere right now.

And as much as she would not mind her bond mate being killed, the shock would be too much for her baby.

Suzie needed this baby to gain sympathy from her family after all that happened. It seemed the only thing that would get her out of all her troubles.
