Chapter 407: Ch 407: A Place I want to take you to
The small (compared to other places Rika had seen until now) three-stories house looked and felt familiar to Rika.
She longed to step forward and knock, but a sudden wave of nerves engulfed her. It was a level of nervousness she had never experienced, not even when she returned home.
But something inside her told her she needed to make an excellent first impression and not mess this meeting up, no matter what happened.
Seeing Rika frozen in front of the door and not opening it, Emily coughed into her fist and decided to open the door for her.
“It can be nerve-wracking to stand out here and wait for the other side to acknowledge you first, but this is ridiculous. I cannot sit here and see this happening anymore.”
Emily signed, and the door opened. It was an older-looking lady who looked like she had not slept well in about a month.
As soon as her eyes met Rika’s, they widened, and a smile spread across the female’s face.
“Huh! Is this Rika? I must be dreaming again. Rika would have called me back the first chance she got once she was found. I need to go to sleep and-”
“This is not a dream. Hello, we’ve met before, right? Or you have at least seen me before. I am Rika’s partner, and my name is Emily.
We are facing a bit of a…problem regarding Rika, and I would like your help. May we enter your house?”
Emily took charge of the situation when the lady in front of her side said nothing. The landlady did not even make a gesture for the trio to enter.
But once Emily spoke, the landlady realized she was blocking the way and needed to let them both through.
With a flush on her face, the landlady quickly side-stepped to allow the trio inside. Her face still looked uncomfortable to invite two alphas inside, but she was willing to bend her rules for Rika’s sake.
“Please come inside. But do not let your pheromones all around. We have people sensitive to these things, and I pride myself in being a clean and neutral zone for everyone to enjoy.”
The landlady ensured she was laying out the rules loud and clear.
As much as she wanted to talk to Rika again and clear out the air, she also wanted to make sure her rules were being followed.
“Don’t worry! Rika told us all about this place before her kidnapping. We will keep ourselves in check, right, Dami?”
Emily looked at her partner with a blank look of anticipation.
It made Damian sigh, but he did not argue with Emily. His lack of communication was enough to tell Emily he would not cause trouble to her or the landlady.
The landlady finally sighed before she allowed the trio unrestricted entry.
…
‘This place feels too familiar. I am sure that I lived here. There are-‘
No sooner had Rika entered the house than she heard a loud bark before something darted toward her at full speed.
The black fur and massive size of that dog should have scared Rika, but all she felt was calm anticipation as she welcomed the god into her arms.
“Shuu, did you miss me? I am sorry that I was gone for so long. I did not mean to abandon you like this.”
Rika took the dog into her arms, and she felt pleasantly surprised when the name came out of her mouth naturally. She had not expected to remember anything this clearly.
She could still not tell when and where she met Shuu, but she knew he was vital to her.
“Looks like you can remember Shuu just fine! It makes me feel jealous of him. But this also makes me hopeful that you will remember me and Dami soon enough.”
Emily smoked at Rika’s success at remembering Shuu. Her genuine happiness for Rika touched the younger girl, and she grabbed Emily’s hand tightly.
“Don’t worry! I can tell that you are important to me, even without my memories. That is why I decided to stay with you after all. If I did not feel anything for you, I would have run away by now.”

Rika assured Emily jokingly, but Emily’s expression was a little tight.
“I was just joking, Emily! Please don’t take it seriously. I won’t have run away from you. Where would I even go if I ran away?”
Rika asked with a small laugh in his voice. Finally, Emily looked away before she felt like she could, and Rika sighed in relief.
She did not know why, but that situation had now felt dangerous. She was sure she would have been locked in a room if she admitted to running away again.
“Well, this is enough talking around for now. Let’s head to the dining room to talk with your landlady. We can also shift all your stuff to our place now that we live together.”
Emily proposed, and Rika felt like the older alpha was taking advantage of Rika, who had no memories to counter her.
However, as much as Rika felt odd, Emily’s suggestion also felt right. She wanted to stay with her partners no matter what.
Rika was sure she had considered moving in with the alpha couple at least once, but she had never gone through it. She felt it was a mistake, but she had made it deliberately.
‘Now that I don’t have any insecurities holding me back, I can do what I felt too afraid to do. But will it be alright for me to do things this quickly? I mean, there must be a reason I would have declined living with my partners for so long.’
Rika might have waited for the sake of waiting, but there was no reason. But Rika did not want to believe that. She wanted to believe that there was a reason behind her actions.
It would make her feel better, at the very least.
