Chapter 409: Ch 409: I will explain it all
“You lost your memory? When! And how! This is…I don’t even know what to say to that. And what about you being an omega? When did that happen? Did you try to fool us all this time?”
The landlady’s expression was complicated. It seemed as if she did not know what to say anymore to Rika.
Seeing her struggling made Rika feel sorry for her, too. But she was unsure what she was supposed to feel sorry for.
Having no memory made this all too complicated for Rika. It made her feel half-competent, and she struggled to understand what to do next.
“I don’t think Rika intentionally caused trouble or fooled you either. She had a condition where she mainly was beta, but she was beginning to develop as an omega.
I am sure Rika was a beta for the duration she lived with you. So please don’t think that she fooled you or anything.”
Emily was quick to assure, but it was difficult for the landlady to feel 100% confident about this.
After all, until Rika said something to assure her, there was no way to know whether Rika wanted to fool her.
Not that Rika could do that now. She had lost her memory, and with that, she had also lost all knowledge about this topic.
“I am sorry, but I cannot answer now because my memory is flawed. But I remember that this place was important to me and that I did not want to lose my place here by all means.
Perhaps I decided to hide my identity all this time. I apologize if this made you feel neglected or anything. That was not my intention.”
Rika quickly apologized and even bowed her head in front of the landlady to show her sincerity.
The landlady looked slightly startled but quickly exchanged glances with Emily and Damian before sighing.
“I do feel a bit stung because of the lies you told me, but now that I know your ‘real’ identity as a Goodwill, things suddenly make much more sense. I would not have told anyone about my identity if I were in your place, either.
I still have no idea what I will tell everyone else about you. Charon would be sad to hear about your true identity. Especially after what happened between her and Mark Goodwill…how did she not recognize you?”
The landlady asked in a startled voice. But as soon as she questioned this, she decided it would be better not to know why Charon had not recognized Natasha.
“You can leave it up to me. I will inform everyone about what happened and why Rika is being taken out of here to live with us. If they have any further questions, I will answer them as well.
Dami, why don’t you take Rika home now? I will stay here a little longer and clear out this situation?”
Emily asked, not even giving Rika any chance to voice her opinion.
It was not that Rika had anything to say about what was happening. He was happy to let these two take the lead while she sat back and enjoyed it.
Damian did not say anything, but he did grab Rika’s waist to pull her up.
Shuu followed the pair, and it was clear he would only be left behind with Rika this time.
Rika looked at the landlady with questioning eyes when she said nothing about Shuu.
“Shuu was your dog, so I don’t have any problem with you taking him with you. Just ensure you take care of him this time and don’t neglect him. Besides, I am sure that Shuu would also like to live in a bigger house.”
Rika suddenly remembered that Shuu was not a dog but a wolf, and it made sense why the landlady would want a wolf out of her house.
This was a dorm where new people came all the time, so having a territorial wolf live there was not a good idea.
“Yeah! I will take Shuu with me and take care of him this time. Thank you for all you did for me up until now.”
Rika thanked the landlady from on top of Damian’s shoulder before the door closed behind her.
There were some familiar-looking people. When heading out, Rika ran into the doorway, and she felt a little startled to see them.
“Rika, you are finally back! Do you know how worried we were for you…hey, is that an alpha in here? What is he doing to you? Are you getting kidnapped? Hey, answer me!”

The blond twin asked in a rapid voice. It was clear that she wanted an answer, but she did not want to wait for an answer to be given.
Rika opened her mouth to speak up, but the door behind her opened before she could speak.
“Fey, Flourite, Charon, you all come here. There is something I need to talk to you about. Rika, remember that you can drop by whenever you want to. My doors will always be open for you.”
The landlady was a good person with a golden heart. Rika felt blessed to know such a person and smiled before nodding.
Damian decided he did not want to wait for these pleasantries to finish before dragging Rika out of the door and toward his car.
“What about Emily-”
“I will ask someone else to pick her up. She has enough people at her beck and calls for us to worry.”
Somehow, that sounded right, and Rika had no rebuttal. She felt comfortable sitting in the front seat, but her stomach decided to give a rumble.
It was late in the evening, and Rika carved some fast food.
“Damian, do you mind stopping at a fast-food joint nearby? I feel hungry, and I would like to eat something.”
As soon as Rika asked, Damian pulled over to the nearest fast-food chain she used to like. He quickly opened the door for her and extended his hand toward her.
These gestures felt sweet and odd at the same time.
Rika felt that Damian was not a person who did this often.
