Middle Child Syndrome - Chapter 422
Chapter 422: Ch 422: The Wedding
‘I think I want a mating bite.’
“Rika, are you fine? You look distracted! Hey, are you not even going to answer me anymore?”
Emily asked as she waved her arm in front of Rika. She was surprised at how deeply in thought Rika was and how much she was not paying attention.
“Huh! Ah, sorry! I was too deep in my thoughts. Were you saying something?”
Rika asked Emily, who immediately looked alert when Rika waved her hand.
The older alpha reached out to grab Rika’s hand tightly before bringing that hand to her nose to sniff it.
Damian had also noticed that pheromonal scent, and he had a frown.
“Which scum do I need to kill?”
Damian asked in a tense voice. He was ready to murder someone, and Rika did not feel surprised by that.
She was surprised that Damian was not hiding his murderous aura. It seemed like some kind of trigger had been flipped in his mind.
“It’s okay! You don’t need to murder anyone…yet. I was just out with Rocxx for Suzie’s shopping when I ran into her and her soon-to-be-husband. That fucking alpha decided to touch me. Don’t look at me like that! I did not allow that alpha to touch me.”
Rika assured the pair before her, and they finally decided to relax slightly.
However, that did not mean they were happy, and Rika finally decided to throw the pair a bone.
“This incident did get me thinking about one thing…I want you both to mark me. I am sure that I am ready to take that step.”
Rika finally came out and said what was bugging her. She waited for a response, but no one said a thing. It was pretty quiet, and that made Rika feel awkward.
“Hey, are you sure about this-”
Emily tried to reason with Rika, but Damian had other plans for her. He would not wait when Rika gave him such a prime opportunity to do what he wanted.
Before Emily could finish speaking, Rika felt the taller alpha grab her shoulder and bite her hard.
Pain instantly assaulted Rika’s senses before she felt the connection getting established.
When Damian pulled back, Rika felt shocked that she could feel his emotions and connection.
“Damian, what the fuck-! Why would you do that? What if Rika was out of her mind when she asked you to do that right now? You should have-”
“She asked me to mark her. Since she asked me that, I am not about to say ‘no’ to her. If you want to say ‘no,’ you can leave us alone.”
Damian spoke firmly, and he stood by his words. His resolve made Emily bite her lip in agitation before she decided to fuck it and grab Rika’s other shoulder and bite it.
The first bite had felt overwhelming, but this one felt calmer and tamer in comparison.
Rika finally felt connected to the pair in front of her, but the pair was not connected to her yet.
“Here, make sure you bite hard. I want to remember this.”
Emily extended her neck toward Rika, and Damian did the same. She bit them both, and the trio finally established the bond.
It finally felt like Rika had a home. And honestly, she was sure that she would not regret it, even if she got her memories back.
…
‘This is not good! I worked so hard to make it to this day, so why do I feel so nervous? Fuck! How did the month pass by in a flash? And my stomach! Why is it showing like this?’

Suzie felt nervous as she fought hard to get into her dress.
The past month had been filled with nerves, and she had bad feelings about everything happening.
No matter how much she wanted to believe everything would be alright, she was unsure if she could make herself believe that.
The most noticeable way for her to notice that things were going bad was that her family was distancing themselves from her.
It started when her grandmother abruptly cut off contact with Suzie. It was less subtle with her mother, but Suzie could tell that her mother no longer cared about her like she used to.
Mark had also gotten too busy to pay attention to her, and he seemed to have found a marriage partner (a political one).
Then there was Suzie’s father. There had been no significant change in him, but Suzie could tell he was also keeping his distance from her.
‘Everything is going wrong! My perfect life-! What the hell happened to it.’
Suzie wanted to cry at how her life had turned out like this.
It all felt perfect not even a few months ago, and now it had all gone down the drain.
“Are you nervous, Suzie? It happens! A wedding is a big decision that can make anyone second guess what they are doing. But don’t worry! You will do just fine!”
Suzie looked at her mother, who did not even see her eyes.
The older woman was too busy these days and often ditched Suzie to attend meetings.
“Mother, you won’t abandon me after I get married, right? You will still support me, right?”
Suzie asked as she felt her worrisome feeling becoming more and more prominent.
The most important factor contributing to this was that Suzie had not seen her partner for some time.
Henry was nowhere to be seen, but someone had reported to her that he entered the wedding hall.
“It will be fine, Sweetheart. I promise that I will always be with you. Now, come out, and let’s get you to the altar. I am sure that you will be the best bride there is.”
Natasha promised, and Suzie breathed a sigh of relief.
‘I am sure that I am just feeling nervous for no reason! I will not need to worry about a thing once I am out of here. I am sure that everything will be just fine.’
Suzie promised herself, but she forgot just how accurate her instincts were about the disaster that was always accurate.
