Chapter 423: Ch 423: The Ruined Wedding
Rika, are you ready to head out now? You don’t have to go to this party if you don’t want to. We can always tell the Goodwill’s that you feel sick.”

Emily looked at Rika’s pale complexion with a worried expression. She wanted Rika to reconsider her actions and remain home, but she had a feeling that she would not take that well.

The younger had been slightly touchy these days regarding what she wanted to do.

Moreover, she knew that Rika wanted her tire to be cut clean and not have any lingering attachments to her once-home. The best way to do that would be to attend this wedding and ensure no one has room to complain.

But that did not mean that Emily had to like it.

“I am fine! This is just one wedding. I don’t have to see Suzie after this wedding is over. I think I can manage this one wedding just fine. After all, just what could happen?”

Those were some famous last words Rika spoke, but she did not think it was a big deal. Her sister was just getting married here, and that was it.

Marriages happened all the time, right?”

“I don’t feel good about all this, but we have a social obligation to attend this wedding. Rika, stay by my side the whole time and don’t leave me. If someone tries to talk to you, then ignore them. You are above everyone else in there. Do you understand?”

Emily asked as she clutched Rika’s face to make her look in her direction.

Rika just looked amused at Emily’s insistence.

“I am fine! I think the one you need to worry about is Damian. He looks like he’s ready to kill someone. I am afraid of what he will do during the wedding ceremony.”

Rika complained as he looked at the silent man standing behind her. She was not sure if she felt secure or amused.

“Dami will be fine! It might look like he’s pissed off, but that’s his default expression. You don’t have to worry about him at all.”

Emily promised, and Rika felt she knew what she was talking about.

She did not want to jinx herself, but sometimes, she felt like she could recall bits and pieces of her past. It was not big; it was enough to tell Rika a little about herself bit and how she used to be in the past.

One thing she was sure of was that she did not regret getting the mating bite from this duo. Her memories and feelings told her that she had always wanted this bite, but her trauma stopped her.

‘Now that I don’t have a trauma to worry about, it feels so much more freeing. I guess it is a good thing I decided to stick to my gut. I feel happy these days. I hope this happiness lasts forever.

The day was finally here. It was Suzie’s wedding, and Rika did not want to be there for one bit.

The only reason she had decided to show up was because this was the very last time she wanted to see Suzie. Once Suzie was married, Rika was going to cut ties with her.

“Wow! There are a lot more people here than I expected. It seems that Suzie decided to go out and invite all the people she could think of. I am quite impressed.”

Emily looked around to see just how many familiar faces she could see.

Rika did not care (or recognize) any of them, so she was uninterested.

She was interested in using the restroom. Her bite marks were beginning to itch, and Rika wanted to cover them up again.

Both Emily and Damian had made sure Rika smelled not only like them but looked like they also owned them.

It felt embarrassing, but Rika was glad she did not have to pretend she was not mated.

Not many people recognized her, but everyone here seemed to know Emily and Damian. It gave Rika enough time to look around on her own.

“Rika, where are you going on your own? You should not move around as you like. This place is dangerous.”

Emily warned as she grabbed Rika’s arm. But as soon as she did that, someone else grabbed Emily and pulled her into a talk the older alpha could not avoid.

She glared at Damian, begging him to care for Rika as she dealt with what was happening.

It finally gave Rika room to breathe, and she looked at the alpha accompanying her with a familiar grin.

“So, would you care to accompany me to the restroom? I promise I will not take that long.”

Rika promised, and she noticed how Damian was breathing hard to control himself. But even though he had difficulty controlling himself, he decided to give Rika a chance.

“Fine! Let’s head to the washroom. Don’t keep me waiting for long.”

Damian warned but was kind enough to wait outside the bathroom for Rika to finish.

When Rika entered the bathroom, she felt like she had stepped on a landmine she should not have.

The scene of her brother-in-law getting hot and heavy with an unknown and pregnant omega in front of her made her backtrack.

“You! What did you see? Wait, you are-”

“I did not see anything. I will leave now.”

Rika promised as she quickly tried to get out.

But now that Henry had been caught, he did not want to let Rika go. He could not afford to let her tell everyone what she had just seen happen in the bathroom.

“What is happening? Darling, who is she-”

The pregnant lady asked, but Henry was faster, and he grabbed Rika’s arm to stop her from leaving the bathroom.

“Fuck! Now that you’ve seen me with another omega, I cannot let you escape here. Fuck! Why don’t I mark you as well? That way, you will be forced to rely on me-”

Rika had been docile until now, so she did not do much against Henry. But she was no damsel in disaster and decided to show it.

Henry attacked her, but Rika decided to attack him back by twisting his arm behind his back and holding him hostage.

Before the alpha could attack Rika again, she quickly took out her inhibitor and injected this man with it.

Henry cried out in shock, but he fell silent pretty quickly.

Once down, Rika turned toward the omega he had been locked with.

“What are you going to do now? You can either go home and forget about what happened or stay here and get involved in this drama. The choice is yours to make.”

Rika asked, feeling sorry for the pregnant lady in front of her.

She expected the lady to choose the second option, but much to her shock, the omega shook her head and stood firm.

“Fuck you! Who are you, and what do you want with my alpha? I cannot leave Henry! He is the only one my child has. I will even share him if I have to.”

The omega yelled as loudly as possible.

By now, Damian had already opened the door, and many people had heard what the omega had yelled.

Seeing how many people were outside, the omega suddenly realized that she had made a mistake but was unwilling to back down.

“So, the kid in your stomach belongs to Henry?”

Rika asked the female, and the omega nodded nervously this time.

“That’s right! The kid is Henry’s, and he mated me as well. And I am not the only one who is mated to him. There are three other omegas. This bride makes the fifth one among us…I thought everyone knew this?”

The unknown omega asked, and Rika felt her jaw tighten.

“What did you say? My sister is what-? How dare this man-!”

Mark grabbed the unconscious alpha and picked him up. There was no end to his anger, but he could not kill this man without harming Suzie in the process.

Most of the wedding guests followed Mark to see what had happened, and they all heard this.

However, Suzie was the one who was the most affected.

As soon as she heard what happened, she fainted. Everyone gasped in shock before they turned toward the pregnant omega who caused all this.

Seeing how everyone turned toward her at such a time, the omega knew she needed a scapegoat, so she blamed Rika instead.

“This is all your fault! You came in here and ruined the surprise. If not for you, we wouldn’t have been caught, and this wedding would not have been ruined. I bet you were jealous that my alpha did not choose you to be his mate.”

The omega pointed, and Mark finally snapped.

“Stop blaming my other sister for you and your pathetic alpha’s faults! Rika Goodwill is not someone you can blame for your fault.”

Mark yelled out loud, causing many people to gasp in shock.
