Chapter 425: Ch 425: The Hospital Visit
“How is Suzie doing, doctor? Do you need something to make her feel better? What about her baby? Is it alright?”
Rika looked at her father and everyone who looked interested in knowing if Suzie was alright or not.
Most of these people were only here because they wanted a personal connection with the Goodwill family and nothing else.
The doctor let out a grateful sigh as he faced the hopeful omega in front of him, and he let him know the depressing news that he had brought.
“I have unfortunate news for you all, so you must brace your hearts for it. Your daughter’s shock caused her to lose her baby, but she should be alright as long as she has her partner with her.
Unfortunately, we checked the partner and found out he has multiple bonds. We advise him to break most of these bonds or make it so he only has one partner. Otherwise, I am afraid your daughter will suffer from a lack of her partner’s pheromones.”
The doctor spoke these words, and everyone gasped.
It was a painful condition where one needed their partner’s pheromones and could not get them. This disease usually happens in people who are older or have dead partners.
Most people braved this condition with sheer will, but Rika doubted Suzie had what it took to get through this.
She could not even think straight most of the time, much less have a mind to ensure she would not be taken advantage of.
“This is ridiculous? How can Suzie have this condition? She is not that weak. Can I go in and meet her?”
Mark asked as he tried to warp his head around what he heard. He could not seem to believe that Suzie was this week.
The doctor let out a sigh that sounded regretful.
“I won’t advise you to go in right now since the patient is not stable, but I won’t stop you either. Ultimately, you decide to make it, and I can’t stop you. Please let me know if you need anything else from me.”
The doctor asked as he quickly made his escape.
Perhaps he sensed the tense air in the room and quickly decided that this place was not for him.
Mark did not chase after the doctor. Instead, he opened Suzie’s room door and entered it.
As soon as he was inside, he fell silent, and he looked at Suzie with a complicated expression.
“Suzie, are you-”
“Have you come to make fun of me as well? My perfect life crumbled right in front of my eyes! Everything was perfect! So why did this have to happen to me? I always dreamed of a perfect life-”
“Then that is your fault. I am sure I told you there was nothing like ‘perfect’ in this world, kid. But you kept insisting that this was what you wanted since the start.
Since you were convinced that your idea of a perfect family was all you needed, I did not try to stop you. Does that make this situation my fault?”
The main door opened, and Suzie wanted her grandmother to enter the room.
This was the one person Suzie never expected to hear these words from. She was shocked when she heard what the older lady had to say to her.
“E-Excuse me, but what did you say? I’m not sure if I heard you quite right. I-I thought you were in my corner!”
Suzie tried to rationalize what she heard, but her ears were ringing. She blinked as she looked at her grandmother.
However, the older lady seemed not bothered by keeping Suzie happy.
“You were convinced that a happy and perfect family comprised an alpha-omega parent pair and their two children, one alpha and one omega. That was what all your books also detailed as a happy family.
I never bothered to correct you because I thought you would grow from this phase. If I knew this would be the result, I would have smacked some sense into you by now. Ugh, the disgrace-”
The older woman rubbed her forehead in shock, but Suzie felt her whole world had shifted.

She thought those on her side were the enemies she needed to look out for.
“T-This cannot be true! This is not reality! Are you all trying to play tricks on me? I will not fall for it. I will-”
Suzie tried to breathe moderately, but the more she tried to run away, the more he was smacked in the face by the reality of the situation.
“Get out! All of you, get out of here. I don’t want to see any of you near me again.”
Suzie yelled as she made everyone run away from her. Once they were gone, Suzie tried to calm her breath down, but she shivered and felt her body wrecked by her emotions.
“Oh no! The patient is having a seizure. We need to control it, or she would be in danger. Dear visitors, I would have to ask you all to leave now. Please give us some space.”
The nurse quickly noticed Suzie’s charts spiked and asked everyone to leave.
Mark and Natasha were reluctant to leave, but the male omega in the room decided to take charge and put a hand on their shoulders.
“Perhaps it is time for us to leave now. Suzie needs time and space to come to terms with what happened. I am sure she will talk to us once she has calmed down.”
The older omega assured as he led the pair out of the room.
But it was easy to tell that he was just as disturbed as these two were about what happened to Suzie and what to do with her.
Rika had waited out of the hospital room for her family, and they felt startled to see her.
“Let’s talk in an empty room. I think we have aired enough laundry like this to make the world know what happened.”
Rika’s words caused her family to nod in agreement.
They quickly found an empty room to talk privately, and Rika immediately looked at the exhausted people before her.
“Look, let me start first. I know that you expect me since I am your daughter by blood. But I doubt I will ever regain my memories at this rate.
I have decided to start a new life while forgetting my past. However, that does not mean I will immediately become family with you.
We will start slowly and see how things go from there. If we are getting along, I will try to reach out. Meanwhile, I will live with my partners. Is that alright?”
Rika made her conditions clear so that there wouldn’t be a problem down the road. She could tell that her family had a lot to say.
But Natasha Goodwill was the first to sigh and give in to Rika’s demands.
“I understand. While this is not what I prefer to do, I do understand that you will need your space and time. I am willing to wait for you. But only if you promise to give us another chance genuinely.”
Natasha looked nervous. It was clear that she thought Rika was only doing lip service, and she would not follow through with it.
Her caution must have been developed after dealing with many businessmen, and Rika understood her hesitation.
“You are free to think what you want to. But that will not change what I feel about this situation. Besides, don’t forget that your side wants my apology, not vice versa.
I do not need to talk to you again if you show me any adverse reaction.”
Rika warned, and that quieted the people down immediately. No one knew what to say to Rika except to take her suggestion.
“Alright, we understand. I want to maintain a relationship with my sister, even if it takes time to develop it.
How about we start with dinner once per month for now and slowly increase that frequency?”
Mark asked, and Rika nodded in agreement. This was fine with her, especially these days when she was beginning to feel a little weird.
She had a good idea why her body acted this way, but Rika did not want to jump to conclusions too quickly.
“Fine! I will meet you next week for dinner, and we will make plans after that. Oh! And Emily and Damian decided not to hold a marriage ceremony now that we are bonded. We are going to get it registered, and that will be it.
If you hope for a big wedding, you might as well forget about it.”
Rika warned, and Mark made a disgusted face at her words.
“Ugh, I think that will be better. I’ve had enough of weddings for a while. I don’t think I can attend another wedding anytime soon.”
Mark complained with an annoyed look, but Natasha dashed his hopes.
“What are you talking about? You need to get married soon since you have responsibilities. You won’t be able to escape your wedding soon.”
