Chapter 426: Ch 426: We are being followed
“Looks like your parents finally decided to do something about Suzie. The last I heard, she is not appearing in any social functions and media. It’s like she disappeared from the face of the earth. I don’t think she will be at dinner either.”

Emily pointed out as she helped Rika back to her feet.

It had been a busy week with what happened and all the backlash. They blinked, and the week was over before they knew it.

Rika felt odd as she stood in front of the mirror in her loose-fitting clothes. Her regular clothes were beginning to irritate her now.

“I don’t want to talk about Suzie. I don’t think I ever got along with her; just hearing her name irritates me. Do you want to see me angry?”

Rika asked almost jokingly, but it was clear that she was not joking. She was warning Emily to keep her mouth shut.

The older alpha quickie quieted because she did not want to anger her omega. Rika had been in a foul mood recently.

And it was all because her body wanted to drain her of all her energy.

Damian chose that second to walk out and warp his arms around Rika’s middle to soothe her. His pheromones made Rika feel better, and she immediately leaned against his side to get more of them.

“Ugh, this feels good! I feel like I can stay in your arms forever.”

Rika pushed harder against the man she was leaning against. It made Damian let out a happy rumble and kept his arms around Rika to stabilize her.

Ever since she had gotten pregnant, Rika had vicious mood swings. This was much different than her first time (as far as she could remember), and it also, unfortunately, meant that her partners had to take the brunt of her anger.

“Hey, this is unfair. Stop hogging Rika all to yourself, Damian. Are you showing off that you have stronger pheromones? This is not fine!”

Emily complained as she tried to get her hands on Rika. But Damian just turned her around and out of Emily’s range.

It made the older female fume, but she quickly calmed herself down and thought about her options. She could do a lot to get Rika back in her arms. The main problem here was time…

“Stop wasting time. We need to get this dinner over with and then come back. I want to cuddle with you both.”

Rika spoke up, and that was it. Once Rika had spoken up, it was decided that this was what they would do. Neither of the alphas made any complaints as they quickly followed out.

When they reached the Goodwill mansion, there was silence. Many of the staff had been changed after what happened to Suzie, and the new ones knew better than to treat Rika with disrespect.

Emily also gave them all a glare that made them all back down. And Damian’s presence was enough to make most people feel afraid.

“Stop it! You might be mafia, but at least pretend you are decent when out. If you keep looking at people like you want to kill them, then you might get arrested one day.”

Rika complained as she slapped Damian’s arm. But the man only smirked at Rika’s words, almost as if this was a compliment to him.

“Ugh, I give up! I don’t think I can control you both anymore! I will be heading inside now.”

Rika picked up her pace as she ran inside the building. The two alphas behind her followed at a more moderate pace.

Emily stopped before entering the main door and faced the maid following her.

“Have you heard anything about Suzie Goodwill? Will she be attending this dinner?”

Emily asked the maid she had planted in the Goodwill mansion. She had no intent to allow them to do as they pleased when they were inviting Rika here to eat. She wanted to keep an eye on the older couple to make sure no mistakes were being made.

“No, mistress. As far as I know, the Goodwill couple sent Emily, her husband, and his other mistresses for therapy. They are all learning to live in the same house with the shared alpha. I am sure the Goodwill also has a plan for her.”

Emily nodded in understanding.

Now that Suzie had been ruined like this, she was unlikely to return. For someone possessive and high-class like her, it was an end even worse than death.

It didn’t matter to Suzie. The less she saw of the younger omega, the better for her mood and mental health. And she was sure that the same could be said for Damian.

Emily quickly entered the dining hall, where Rika had already been waiting for her. The younger brother seemed to have kept a seat for Emily beside her, and Damian was sitting on her other side.

The female alpha quickly took that offered seat, and an awkward silence followed.

Mark was the one who coughed and decided to break the silence.

“Now that you are all here, I think it is best if I introduce my fiancé to you all. She is Sherly, the daughter of one of the politicians. Her father is-”

The older alpha spoke, but Emily had already lost interest. Her only concern was Rika and how she was doing at the moment. It was a delicate time for Rika, after all.

But Rika did not look any worse for wear, which made Emily happy. She finally felt like she could relax once more.

Somehow, this was the first dinner that did not feel awkward or end in disaster… until the dessert came.

Rika sniffed the lemony pie, and her face turned green. Before anyone could help her, she bolted toward where her room used to be and smashed the door open to empty her stomach.

The morning sickness had finally stuck, and Rika could not take the smell anymore.

“W-What happened? Is there something wrong with the dessert? Should I get the chef fired for this?”

Natasha asked as she looked at her daughter, running out of her seat to empty her stomach.

But Emily quickly walked up toward her omega and patted her back.

“No, this is fine! Rika is fine. She is just having morning sickness…we think. Since she is pregnant, there could be a hundred reasons for this. But don’t worry! We asked the doctor, and she said that this was normal.”

Emily assured the older pair, and she watched as the family of four stiffened.

“Wait! Is Rika pregnant? Since when? And why did no one tell me? I would have altered the dinner menu and-”

When she heard those words, Natasha looked tense, but her partner touched her shoulder to calm her down.

“Natasha, calm down for now. I am sure that Rika is just fine…for now. She must not have wanted us to know about her pregnancy so early. Should we pretend that we don’t know about it?”

The male omega asked as he looked at the table before him. But Emily just shook her head, telling him there was no need to do that.

“No, it is okay if you know about it. Rika will have a hard time, so the more people who know about it, the better it will be. Don’t ask her too many questions since she is sensitive. I cannot recall how often she snapped at me or Damian because we kept asking her if she was fine.”

Emily warned, and the pair nodded.

Soon, Rika returned with Damian soothing her, and the dinner finally ended.

It was easy to tell that everyone knew about her pregnancy, but no one brought it up, which made Rika feel better about herself.

“Did you have a nice dinner, Rika?”

Emily asked as she looked at her omega with a gentle look. She wanted Rika to feel as comfortable as possible, and she would remove any discomfort the younger had.

“Hmm, it was fine. I don’t think I remember most of what I put in my mouth, but those dishes, in the end, were good. I think I can keep eating them…did you hear that? I feel like someone is following us. What should we do now?”

Rika stopped walking when she heard that rustling sound in the bushes. She was sure someone was following her and her party, but she did not want to make assumptions.

Emily and Damian became super alert once Rika said these words and sharpened their ears to hear the rustling sound.

“Hmm, you are right! Someone is following us, and they are following us quite well. Then, shall we play with them to see who they are? We can scare them if we play our cards right.”

Emily asked, trying her best not to look around. The other two matched her grin, and the hunt was one.

The poor hunted kid would not know what happened to him once the trio was done with him.
