Chapter 57: Ch 57: Crazy encounter
The alpha’s voice thundered, echoing through the air, as he directed his anger at Rika. The moment’s intensity was palpable, and everyone turned, their curiosity piqued by the unfolding drama.

Rika felt sure the alpha would stop yelling at her and leave her alone.

No matter how powerful or influential alphas believed themselves to be, they never wanted the media to portray them negatively.

But this alpha did not seem to care.

He grabbed Rika’s hand and pulled her closer.

“Tsk, who do you think you are to look away from me? You are too arrogance for someone who doesn’t even have a strong pheromonal scent and-”

The man inhaled deeply from Rika’s wrist, his features transforming from rage to disbelief and then outright denial, a reaction no one could have anticipated.

He had finally discovered what Rika had not bothered to tell him. And she only had not because she knew it would enrage the alpha more.

“Are you going to say that I deceived you by hiding my orientation from you?”

Rika asked in a flat voice.

Her voice was monotonous and as neutral as she could make it be. But the alpha before her was not ready to hear her out.

“You little-! Now you are making fun of me? This is all because of the faint scent of pheromones on you. It fooled me into thinking that you were an omega. But it turns out that you were just a beta disguising yourself as an omega to get more attention.”

The alpha yelled, and Rika did not take his words to heart.

It was well-known that anything an alpha said during his rage was not worth paying attention to.

But I was paying attention to how everyone backed away; some even called security to help Rika.

‘Ah, the alpha must have lost control of his pheromones and let out a lot. He must also be a lot more dominant than I initially expected. I should be worried about myself, right?’

Rika could not smell or feel those pheromones, but she could feel how tense the air was.

It made her want to retreat, and she even took a few steps back when the alpha reached out and grabbed her arm.

“Where do you think you are going? We did not clear out the air between us. Don’t tell me that you feel afraid of me already?”

The alpha asked Rika in a low voice. Just standing in front of that alpha made Rika’s knees buckle.

But it was due to the look of mad desire in the eyes of the alpha before her.

‘I…feel like I made a mistake coming to this mall and calling this man out. I should be more careful…or rather…I should have declined my mother when she asked me to come.’

Rika tried to take a gasp, but her wrist hurt when it was being grabbed.

She felt she needed to run now, or she could not run anymore.

“You are a daring person! You are also the first one who did not faint when I pressed like this. Even other betas faint once I let out this much pheromone. You sure have some good willpower.”

The unknown alpha praised as he held Rika’s arm up tightly.

It was beginning to turn black and blue where she was being held around.

“Y-You…let…me…go…. Your…pheromones…. I cannot…smell them…at…. all…”

Rika complained, which was enough of a shock factor for the alpha to let Rika’s wrist go.

As soon as Rika was okay, she quickly knocked the taller alpha down by hitting him on the knee and then taking off.

Since she had the advantage of surprise, speed, and no scent, Rika quickly disappeared from the crowd.

By the time the police came, it was too late to do anything.

The man who Rika had knocked down remained seated for some time and continued to look in the direction of where Rika had disappeared.

He only moved once the police arrived, but even that decision was made because he wanted to.

“What do you all want from me? Are you here to arrest me? You can do that. I won’t resist my arrest.”

The Alpha promised, but anyone could tell that it was all lip service. The police could not contain this Alpha if he decided to leave.

“I apologise for the inconvenience our customer, Mr. Taten, caused you. We will ensure this never happens again. We can close the mall next time you are here. But please tell us beforehand if you are going to come.”

The mall’s head and the security head looked like they were counting their days. They looked at the man before them with a hesitant and worried expression.

But the man in question looked normal and not angry.

The young alpha also looked at his hand in wonder, and his gaze looked lost for a second.

“Hmm, that was weird. I don’t generally approach omega, much less betas. But that girl…there was something special about her. She felt familiar to me.”

The alpha commented, ignoring the head of security as well as the owner of the mall behind him.

But the pair did not seem to mind being ignored. They preferred it as well.

“Oh my! What a pleasant surprise it is to see you here, Andrew Taten. How are your parents doing? Last I heard, they were in Paris. So, what are you doing back home.”

The alpha that was just addressed turned to look at Natasha Goodwill. But that did not say much.

It would be more correct to assume that more than 80% of the people knew who Natasha Goodwill was and who her family was. She was just that famous and influential.

As for Andrew? He remembered being close to the lady and her kids when he was young. That was before he had presented and lived with his parents abroad.

“Alpha Goodwill, I hope you are in good health and happy. It is nice to meet you as well. My parents are alright. They have been enjoying life ever since they retired.”
