Chapter 58: Ch 58: I’m not interested
“Oh my! Is that so? Your parents look like they are enjoying an excellent life. Now, if only my kids were sensible enough for me to leave my company. I would love to travel with my partner abroad.”

“Mark is too immature and quick to anger, and Suzie still behaves like a child. As much as I want to put Rika in charge, she presented as a beta. I’ll need to work much harder to convince the board, and even then, they would try to rate her alive.”

*Sigh*

“I have such a tough life.”

Natasha Goodwill complained about her life, but the younger alpha looked more surprised by her words than anything else.

“Rika presented as a beta? Are you sure? I mean, is that even possible with such a heavy Alpha-beta-dominated ancestry such as yours? Did you get her tested?”

Andrew felt shocked when he heard the news.

He had vague memories about the sibling trio, but from what he remembered, he was sure Rika would have developed into an omega long before now.

Both she and Suzie showed these traits long before their time together. Rika should present as a beta naturally.

“Of course, I got Rika checked out when she turned 16. But all her tests returned negative, and the family doctor assured us there was nothing physically wrong with her. I guess some things are just unavoidable.”

Natasha Goodwill made an excuse for herself.

The older alpha wanted to avoid discussing it, but she did not wish to ask Andrew to drop this topic.

So, he did not bring up that topic once more, and it was left forgotten.

Alpha Goodwill also looked considerably happier with this, and she quickly turned toward Andres before inviting him for lunch.

The older female’s phone buzzing interrupted their conversation only once, making her look almost sad for a minute.

But then she recovered quickly and returned to chatting as if nothing happened. The day ended just like that, and Andrew got up to leave.

At such a time, Aloha Goodwill decided to speak up.

“Since we met at such a time, how about you come and visit my home? Rika is not there right now, but I am sure Mark and Suzie would be delighted to meet you again.”

“You all used to be such good friends back in the day. I am sure that you will be great friends again. Or maybe even more.”

Andrew realised the older female wanted from him the second she said those last few words.

It was a relatively common occurrence for him – being set up.

Usually, Andrew was not interested in getting matched with a stranger like this. But he was curious about the famous Suzie Goodwill and her beauty.

People often said that she was an ideal beauty and a perfect omega, and that made Andrew curious.

‘Maybe meeting her will cause me to forget about the previous incident with that beta. Oh well, I am sure that it will be fine.’

With such a belief, Andrew took Alpha Goodwill’s offer.

“Please come inside! I will make sure you have a lovely time with us.”

Alpha Goodwill promised him that, but he was instantly greeted with a face full of hostie pheromones and a sour-looking Mark Goodwill.

He was accompanied by a pouting omega who looked more babyish than Andrew expected.

“Mom! How can you do this to Mark? All he wanted was to help you and spend time with you alone! How can you betray his trust like that and invite Rika along? And also…who’s that?”

Suzie’s expression turned the second she saw Andrew.

She likely smelled Andrew’s pheromones and realised he was an alpha. And a dominant one at that.

“It looks like I am not welcome here, Miss Goodwill. I will come back later.”

Andrew had no intention of returning when Suzie reached out to touch his arm. Her subtle scent of pheromones tried to calm him down, but it only irritated Andrew more.

“You don’t have to look so sad, Alpha. We did not realise you were accompanying our mother, so we made a mistake. But worry not because I assure you that we will take good care of you as our guest-”

Andrew yanked his arm out of Suzie’s grasp with a solid yank.

It surprised everyone, but the one who looked the most shocked was Suzie herself.

She looked at her hand with a hint of wonder, and it was clear why. She had likely never been rejected before, especially by an alpha.

However, Andrew would not feed into her ego nor allow her to do what she wanted with him.

“Alpha Goodwill, it will be beneficial for you to educate your youngest daughter not to cause trouble for you. You don’t know who would take offence to what she did. I should get going now.”

The whole family looked stunned that Andrew did not even care about Suzie and her sweet scent.

It was almost as if he did not care that he had an omega before her.

“Hey! How dare you say that about Suzie! You little shit! Come back here and say those words to my face. Suzie is great, and she was trying to help you out….”

Mark’s anger did nothing to Andrew.

He could smell angry alpha pheromones heading his way, but they did not even make his knees buckle.

Mark wanted to go after the alpha who insulted Suzie and kill him, but his mother stopped him before he could do that.

“Stop it right there, Mark. Do not go after him, Mark. Instead, you should stay with Suzie and comfort her. She looks rather shocked after what happened.”

Mark had all the intentions of going after Andrew and giving him a piece of his mind. But then his mother had to mention Suzie, which turned the scale in his mind.

In the end, Mark gritted his teeth and kept his cool. He knew that he needed to keep himself calm for Suzie’s sake.

” That Alpha! I did not like him at all. I hope we never see him again.”

Suzie complained with her mouth, but she actually felt interested in him and wanted to know more about him.
