Middle Child Syndrome - Chapter 72
Chapter 72: Ch 72: You drive
“Wait! Please give me my phone for a minute. I need to check something.”
Rika extended her hand toward Charon to receive her phone. And Charon quickly put that device back in Rika’s hands.
With Charon’s behaviour, Rika’s phone is a ticking time bomb that could be set off at any moment.
“Aw fuck! I meant to give you my phone to make an excuse for this Andrew person. How is my luck so low today? First, I gained a stalker, and now I have this. Nothing is going right in my life.”
Rika sighed as she moved a little. It caused the puppy on her back to growl, but thankfully, it decided it was not worth falling if Rika moved.
It gave Rika much-needed freedom, and she opened her eyes to change her clothes.
“That…does not sound like something you should gloss over. What do you mean you have a stalker, Rika? When did that happen? No, more importantly! Do you have any idea who that person would be? You should get a restraining order or something.”
Charon also sounded just as alarmed as Daniel initially had.
Rika knew they were good people, but it also frustrated her to see how dumb people could get in difficult situations.
“And what would a restraining order accomplish? And do you think that the police would want to get involved in a case that is associated with not one mafia gang but two of them? They would first throw me into the lion’s den to save their lives.”
Once Rika finished speaking, Charon fell quiet. Although she seemed to want to say a lot, her mouth refused to form words or sounds.
Ultimately, Charon had to give up on going to the police.
She looked unhappy, but at least she was wise enough to avoid danger.
Rika quickly showered and got ready. When she walked down, their house lady was already setting up the dinner table, and she looked unhappy to see Rika all dressed up and ready to go.
“You should have told me that you had a date today. I would have cooked less if I knew I only had a date.”
It was not valid. Rika was sure their house lady would still have cooked up a feast even if Rika was not there.
After all, Rika ate so tiny that it did not make much of a dent in the pool pile before her.
But the food was not important right now. What was important was the sulking expression on their dorm lady’s face.
“I am sorry! I had no intention of going out, but I suddenly got called out. I will try to return quickly, so can you save some food for me?”
Rika asked, but she doubted she could eat it once she returned.
She would be either stuffed full of food already, or Emily would make Rika so uncomfortable that she couldn’t handle it.
The dorm lady still looked unhappy, but Charon decided to help Rika.
Rika had no idea what Charon said to change the dorm lady’s mind, but she hesitantly nodded at Rika and gave her permission to head out.
“Make sure you take care of yourself, Rika. And beware of the stalker. Do not lead him back here even if you encounter him.”
Charon waved at Rika, and the younger beta quickly ran away to avoid the embarrassment she felt.
…
“Don’t talk to me. I know you are as upset at that call as I am. Your blank expression makes me want to punch your face and get a reaction out of you.”
Emily sulked as she sat in her car.
She had many things to do today, but she cancelled them all to meet Rika and see her face.
It all started with a phone call.

Emily had called Rika because it had been a while (one whole day), and she wanted to hear Rika’s voice.
But someone else picked up the phone, and they told them that Rika could not talk to them.
It caused all kinds of negative effects on Emily, causing her mind and speech to experience a whirlwind before she realised it.
Not that she regretted it or told a lie! She was coming to meet Rika anyway.
“Should I call Rika?”
Damian asked almost teasingly, and Emily snapped just as he had expected her to.
“Fuck no! Why would you call Rika? Do you want to show me that you have a better relationship with her because she picks up your phone and not mine? Is that it? Fuck you! I do not want to hear those words.”
Emily quickly put her foot on the gas pedal and sped through.
Her anger caused her to drive faster than average, and they were in Rika’s neighbourhood before they knew it.
Emily took out her phone since she knew she needed to call Rika to tell her they arrived. But there turned out to be no reason for them to do that.
Rika knocked at their window, and Emily lowered it to see the beta’s face better.
A very slight smell came off Rika, and it was impossible to tell if it was hers or her soap. But Emily liked that smell and wanted to bury her nose in that neck.
‘I want to bite that white nape. I bet it would feel incredible to have that soft neck under my teeth as I take my time biting and exploring Rika’s body. Her breasts…’
In her defence, Emily did not try looking down at Rika’s shirt when she leaned down. And she did not feel disappointed when she was not able to get a single flash of the younger girl’s tits.
“Are you not going to unlock the car for me? I do need to get to the car’s back seat, you know.”
Rika asked teasingly, but Emily felt her desires surge and knew she could not handle it anymore.
“Damian, switch with me for now. I want to sit in the passenger seat, and you should drive.”
