Chapter 87: Ch 87: We are closed for the day
It was Rika’s fault for not dodging when Damian reached for her neck and rubbed his scent all over it.
Emily had done the same thing before, but having Damian do it so consciously made Rika’s breath faster, and she felt nervous.
Her body was also behaving weirdly, almost threatening to give in and collapse as soon as she smelled that lovely scent.
“This is not fair! Let me join the fun, too. I want to mark Rika, too.”
Emily complained, and before Rika could point out that she had already done that, she nuzzled her way into Rika’s neck before rubbing her scent all over the beta.
She only let go once satisfied with her handiwork and looked pleased.
“Don’t get too lonely without us. If nothing major happens, we will return to take you home. Take care of yourself until then.”
Emily looked far too happy for it to be expected.
It almost felt like she was drunk, but that was not the case. Where would Emily even find the time to get drunk when she had been with Rika all this time?
“On the second note, maybe it will be better not to ask such questions.”
Rika sighed as she went back to work. She was worried about Daniel and how he was handling that festy omega.
As soon as Rika stepped out of the backroom, she wished to hide in it.
Instead of one omega, there were about a dozen of them now. And they all seemed to be arguing about the fated pair and the excellent pheromones they smelled.
Rika could tell Daniel was overwhelmed with all this attention and could not handle these scenes.
‘Fuck! I had to get stuck with one beta who was afraid to offend some omegas. But, well, it is better than a beta who wants to taste what an omega is like. I should help him out right now.’
All eyes turned toward Rika as soon as she stepped into the smelling range.
She could feel the shock and disgust filling the omegas’ eyes as soon as they looked at her and smelled the pheromones all over her.
“Fuck! Why is she covered in those lovely pheromones? They’re drowning her.”
“She must have seduced those alphas to have marked her this heavily. Can’t you say that she is a sweet-looking, seductive type?”
“Fuck! I want to bash her head in right now. How dare she get close to my alpha? This is annoying.”
It was annoying how entitled these omegas felt over an alpha they once smelled.
Thankfully, not all omegas were like this. But those who let their instincts control themselves were mostly this festy and liked to cause trouble.
“You all! Get out! This shop is closed today. The people you are looking for are no longer here, either.”
“Also, do not return if you will not come as a customer. I do not want people like you in my shop anymore.”
Rika made her stance clear, but it pissed off more omegas than she expected.
Well, it was a given that her small speech would enrage people, but to have almost a dozen people look at her hate was a new experience.
“You are a bitch! You cannot treat customers like this-”
“But you are not a customer. Now, get going before I call security at you.”
Rika threatened, and the rude customer backed down after being hit by rationality.
The others also followed suit once they noticed the fiercest of them had already been tamed.

“You will regret this, bitch. You don’t know whom you are messing with. I will make your life hell if we meet again.”
The omega, who looked like a leader, promised Rika before she walked out of the shop.
Once one left, the others took little time to go. But they all had varied expressions of dissatisfaction on their faces.
“Are you sure about this? You ended up making a lot of enemies today. What if it came back to bite you in the ass later? Are you not afraid?”
Daniel asked in a worried voice.
It felt weird to have anyone worry about Rika like this, but it was not a bad feeling.
“Afraid? Is there anything to be afraid of because of these kids? They are too young to be able to use their parents’ full authority, but I doubt their parents would do anything about it.”
No one wanted to oppose the Goodwill family, especially a tiny, no-name family that Rika could not recognise.
Even if she did not like using her family name and connections, Rika doubted that her mother would abandon her so quickly.
Primarily because it was related to their family name and legacy.
“Well, if you say so…. what about the shop? Are you seriously going to close it for today? We just opened it fifteen minutes ago.”
Daniel asked in a worried voice.
Truthfully, this tiny flower shop earned little business or profit. Its primary source of income came from the mafia, which acted like a good front and fooled the police about its activities.
So, there was no need to worry about losing a single day of profit like this…usually.
“Fuck it! I lied to get those omegas out of the shop. There is no way we are closing too early, especially not because of those omegas. I hours arrange flowers and calm her nerves head to the back and work on the flower arrangements now. You should take care of the counter for the time being.”
Rika instructed, and Daniel let out a relieved laugh at seeing her attitude.
Maybe he thought Rika would be traumatised or afraid after that run-in with those rowdy omegas.
But if that was so, Daniel knew Rika better than he thought.
There was no way these immature brats would be able to scare Rika. She had seen too much of this world to be scared of much.
She spent the rest of her working hours arranging flowers and calming her nerves down.
