Chapter 90: Ch 90: Saving a life
“Please, help me out. I-I am in danger. P-People are chasing after me. Please save me.”

The omega begged while clutching to the dominant alpha in front of her. That omega forgot Rika, and she could tell that her presence was unwelcome.

Even if she were not being ignored, the subtle hint of impatience that the omega shot at her assured Rika that she needed to go.

That, along with the fact that Andrew was getting scammed by this heat-minded omega,

Rika had never seen it before, but apparently, there was a scam where low-class omegas pretended to be chased by someone and asked an alpha for protection.

But since they were in heat, the alpha lost their rationality and mastered the omega.

That way, even a low-class omega could join a high-class family and reap the benefits.

‘Oh, I never thought I could see this scam in real life. Damian and Emily are too scary for normal omegas to approach when they are with me, and if this ever happened to them without me being there, then that is a different thing.’

But then again, omegas regularly threw themselves at the alpha pair. So, Rika wondered if they would notice an additional one or two omegas who tried to grab their attention.

Andrew looked uncomfortable.

Compared to Emily and Damian, he was a gentleman and did not want to hurt the omega.

That was why he tried to make the omega gently let go of him.

“I am sorry, miss, but I can’t help you with your heat. It will be better to do to a hospital or the omega-special police enters to get the aide you need-”

“No! I cannot go there. I-I would be found out. Please, help me out. I beg you to help me out. I-I want you to help me out.”

The omega was likely releasing pheromones to entice Andrew to feel aroused. Rika could not smell them but could tell from the body language.

It was beginning to make Rika feel sick.

She expected Andrew to lose his reason and attack the omega on the spot, but she was surprised when he did not even look at what happened.

He only looked more frustrated than anything. He was affected, but he was fighting off his instincts.

But it would not last long.

“Fuck! This could be more pleasant. I know I should not blame an omega in the heat for this behaviour, but I cannot help it. What do I do now?”

Rika could tell that something was about to happen.

Many people had gathered around them, wanting to see what this drama was about, causing Andrew to look stressed as well.

Rika could walk away from this crowd and not look back. But she was an asshole, and she also thought that Andrew had suffered enough.

She quickly brought out the pheromone suppressor she always kept and jabbed it into the omega’s mouth since that was the safest way.

It was hard for Rika to ignore the tingles in her arm and how her body shook when she touched an omega, but she braved it all to complete her task.

“Stay away! This alpha is mine! I will not give him up.”

The omega fought back with Rika, but it was clear that her lack of pheromones surprised him.

And that allowed Rika to complete her task and quickly gain distance between herself and the omega once more.

“W-What did you feed me? It feels funny…”

The omega asked before he fell asleep. The pheromones around him also lessened, making it easier to take him to the doctor and get suppressants.

On the other hand, Rika had pushed herself more than she should have.

Being that close to the omega caused Rika’s body to rebel against her, and she felt sick. This was not a pleasant experience for her.

A small crowd had gathered around the pair, and most people could smell a fertile omega in heat.

But despite having an omega in heat nearby, no one moved toward that omega. And it was all because of the dominant alpha holding that omega.

Andrew’s presence was enough to keep the people away, and he clutched the omega in his arms.

He did not even seem aware that he was doing that or how protective he was of this unknown omega in his arms until Rika stepped toward him.

That growth was unnecessary, and it sounded scary. Even Andrew was surprised when it came out of his mouth.

Rika had expected to be shown such hostility when she neared an alpha with an omega in heat, so she was not surprised.

Mark often displayed the same behaviour when he was too out of it, which is where Rika’s lack of scent came in.

“Calm down. I am not going to take your omega away from you. I need to check up on her. I have some suppressants with me that can help this omega out. Now calm down, and don’t attack me.”

Rika slowly reached out toward the unconscious omega until she could touch him and pried his mouth open.

Then, she quickly made him eat all the suppressants he could stomach in his current state, and she backed away.

Andrew’s hand followed seconds after, trying to catch Rika and hurt her for daring to touch an omega under his protection.

But Rika had away done her part of the job. She had taken care of the omega’s heat and knew he would be alright.

Slowly, Andrew returned to himself and looked ashamed of what had happened and what he had done.

They quickly left the Omega for a hospital and paid his bill. That marked the end of this encounter, but Rika could tell that Andrew was still hesitant to go to that Omega.

“See! I told you that you did not like me. You were confused because you did not know better. There is no need to feel guilty for what happened. It was just instincts’ fault.”

Rika assured the alpha and gave him a way out. But in truth, she was the one who wanted to run.

The sickness she had pushed back before was beginning to rear its ugly head.
