Middle Child Syndrome - Chapter 94
Chapter 94: Ch 94: The confrontation
In retrospect, taunting someone who could harm you seriously was not a good idea. But Rika never boasted that she was smart or made good decisions.
The more she spoke, the more she bruised those omega’s pride.
“You bitch! I know you remember me! How dare you pretend you do not. If you want to live a carefree campus life for the next two years, you better respect me.”
The omega taunted and raged at the same time.
Rika could tell that this omega had been triggered, and her scent was strong.
Even if Rika’s nose could not smell anything, her body began to sweat, and she felt sick.
She needed to leave right now, or she would end up vomiting all over the place. And Rika was not looking forward to that.
“I-I need to get going now. I feel sick all of a sudden.”
Rika complained as she held her hand up to her face. Her complexion had turned green, indicating she was about to do something unpleasant.
Unfortunately for the omega in front of her, Rika’s words sounded like an excuse she made to get out of trouble.
“Where do you think you are going? We are the seniors here, and what we say goes. Do you understand-”
The omega reached out to grab Rika’s arm and pull her back.
She likely thought that Rika was acting to get out of trouble with her, and if she did this, then she could stop Rika.
But little did she know that, as a result, Rika would vomit all over her shoes and heave heavily to catch her breath.
“Shit! These were expensive shoes that an alpha gifted me. I wore these because I was going to meet him today. But now it all seemed to be ruined because of this bitch. I am so angry….”
The omega reached out to grab Rika, but she was unsuccessful.
Rika might be half-out of her mind right now, but she is still trained to deal with these situations.
When the Omega tried to reach for her, Rika reacted and grabbed her arm instead. This was followed by a brutal thrash, which caused the Omega to fall flat on her back.
It was a swift victory for Rika, who did not want to fight unnecessarily with these omegas.
“I’m sorry, but I’m not in the mood to play with you all. If you truly feel lonely, I advise finding someone else.”
Rika wanted as she picked herself off. She was still not stable, so she quickly popped a pill into her mouth and brought out a scent blocker to make herself feel better.
But even that did not seem enough for her at the moment.
Her body continued to heave no matter what Rika did.
‘Tsk, do you genuinely think this is over? The only reason you can win above us is because we are omegas. You will change your tone once you face a real alpha.”
The rude omega yelled before Rika felt someone else reaching out for her.
An alpha tried to grab Rika this time, but she was more challenging. She also knew several ways to throw the alpha over her shoulder. And that was precisely what Rika did.
“Don’t touch me without permission. I will let you go today because I am not feeling good. But if you come after me again, I assure you that you won’t be able to keep your dignity intact.”
Rika wanted, and the alpha looked too stunned to reply to her or do anything but nod.
There was hardly anyone around who could spread rumours about what had happened. Rika felt that the people involved in this incident would instead remain quiet and tight-lipped so that their reputation would not be tarnished.
Another alpha moved toward Rika to attack her or something, but a single look from Rika stopped that man.

Once that happened, no one else dared approach Rika. They were too afraid of being beaten up by a beta and tarnishing their reputation.
‘Ha! I was lucky to land the first hit on this alpha. That is the only reason I did not suffer an injury. I would be in big trouble if anyone were to genuinely attack me with a little knowledge of how to fight.’
Rika knew that. But did that affect her judgement of what to do? Of course not.
She knew she would do the same thing if given a chance.
Rika’s smile made a lot of people nervous. It was their first time seeing a beta beat an alpha up. Usually, betas were too scared to raise their heads or be anything more than a doormat for alphas.
“Just for the record, I want to get along with you all. I have no intention of alienating or becoming alienated from my class. But if you continue to piss me off, then it would not be a good thing for you.”
Rika warned the people debating which side to take during this conflict.
Things could worsen, but Rika quietly removed herself from the situation.
She hoped this would all be forgotten in a week but wondered if that would be the case.
‘Fuck! I meant to keep my head down. Would this all blow out if I allowed myself to be beaten up once or twice? That is a better alternative than whatever is currently happening. I am sure that anyone would agree and…I am so fucked.’
Now that the situation could turn nasty, Rika knew she should call her mother and tell her what had happened.
However, Rika wanted to rely on something other than her family’s power or wealth to mitigate this situation. She tried to get rid of all the trouble herself.
“Let’s just take things one at a time. I am sure that things will get better over the week…
Spoiler warning
Things did not get better over the week. The only thing that happened was that the bullies tried to harass Rika outside the school after this confrontation.
