Chapter 97: Ch 97: Being followed
“It is my cue to leave you alone now. But Rika, do be careful. Just because you got rid of that omega now does not mean it will be just as easy to get rid of her in the future. Plus, she has her friends-”

Rika quickly shot Daniel a warning glare to make him shut up.

She did not want Emily to hear anything said, but it was already too late.

Emily’s smile said it all—she had heard what was being said and figured out what had happened there.

However, she did not ask any questions and allowed Rika to keep working as she had, which somehow caused Rika to feel even more scared.

‘Shit! I am sure that Emily will interfere in my matter sooner or later. But it will be fine if she does not let me know. I don’t want to hear her say anything to me for now.’

“Rika, do you not have anything to say to me? What were you talking about? Let me know if you have any problem, and I will handle it.”

Emily promised, and her smile scared the shit out of Rika.

“Let’s just forget about it for now. I will handle my affairs, Emily, so you do not need to come here. You also came a little early, so I am afraid you will have to wait a while. You do not mind waiting, right?”

Rika asked as she pointed to the corner.

Emily smiled, almost as if she had been waiting for this, and quietly sat down.

“Of course, I do not have a problem with this. Why would I have a problem? Go and do what you need to do.”

Emily waved Rika off, but Rika decided to keep an eye on her.

She watched as Emily cornered Daniel as soon as he was alone and Rika was working.

The poor man was being grilled by Emily and seemed scared of the alpha. Anyone would be upset by the way Emily behaved and intimidated her opponent.

‘Ah! I am sorry, but you must take one for the team this time, Daniel. I don’t think I am ready to deal with a curious Emily right now.’

Rika did not intend to keep anything from Emily, mainly because she knew it was futile to do that.

Even if Rika did not let Emily find out what happened, the older alpha could always go to Rocxx and get a recording from him.

‘Heck! I am sure that Emily would do so anyway. She likes to be thorough in her research. Now I feel sorry and worried for that omega kid. She will likely face many problems because of Emily now.’

Rika felt sorry, but did that mean she would help her out?

Heck no!

She was out, and her self-interests came first over anything else.

“Emily, we are done for the day. Let’s go ahead and leave now. I want to get back home and relax in my bed.”

Rika called out to her friend and ignored Daniel’s relieved sigh as he was let go.

Emily had grilled him well, and the poor beta looked scared of being caught by her again.

“Ah, Rika! Are you done for the day? Good! Let’s get going already.”

Emily took one second to get ready to leave. Looking at her, one would not think that she is currently one of the most prominent CEOs in the world.

She looked far too relaxed and carefree at the moment.

Rika’s eyes moved toward Daniel, who panted behind Emily. The poor man looked like he had been through a lot, and Rika felt sorry for him.

But more is needed to get in between him and Emily.

‘I am sorry! I will treat you tomorrow for putting up with Emily today.’

Rika mouthed at the traumatised beta, but Daniel did not even bait an eye at her attempts to reconcile. He was still feeling betrayed by what she had done.

‘Oh well, about only it something if Daniel does not feel like talking to me. For now, I should take Emily out of here and leave Daniel alone.’

Rika sighed as she dragged Emily out.

“Your coworker is amusing. I thought that you would only get along with someone this rowdy. But I was mistaken about that. I wonder what else I was wrong about regarding you.”

Emily smiled back at Rika teasingly, but Rika did not even bait an eye with her flirting tone.

“Rika, I am friends with you and Damian. I doubt I can find anyone worse to be friends with. And even if I did, it would be my decision, right?”

“Hmm, you are right. It will be your decision whom to make friends with.”

Emily agreed with Rika, but they did not feel she agreed.

Rika was uncomfortable looking too deeply into this, so she quickly looked away and noticed she was being followed.

She looked at Emily to see if she noticed the same thing Rika did. However, Emily did not show anything on her face when she smiled.

‘Ah, so Emily noticed we were being followed long ago. I am sure that she has yet to bring my attention to it. Should I also pretend I did not notice what was happening?’

Rika bit her lip as she considered what to do next.

She did not expect Emily to stop in the middle of the path and narrow her eyes. Her hand also tightened around Rika’s, and she did not even realise that she had been holding Emily’s hand until now.

“Rika, I know that you also realise what is going on by now. Someone is stalking us. What do you think we should do? If you don’t want to get involved, I can handle this myself.”

Emily promised, and Rika took a second to think about it before realising it would be a disaster if she left Emily alone.

She had no idea what Emily would do to the poor soul that had the misfortune thought of stalking her.
