Chapter 482: Chapter 482: Secrets
Damon adjusted his jacket, glancing at himself in the mirror. Today was the interview, the one that had been built up for weeks thanks to the controversy surrounding him.
The questions he had sent back through Victor had been a joke. Literally.
He had no expectation that they’d accept even one of them. He designed them to ruin the interview, to make it as awkward and unprofessional as possible. He wanted the hosts to regret ever trying to exploit him for drama.
But somehow… they actually approved some.
Victor had told him a few days ago. He had personally reviewed the extra questions they added and made sure nothing shady slipped in. That part was fine. What wasn’t fine?
The fact that Damon’s bullshit made the cut.
He still couldn’t believe it.
Some of the questions they agreed to included:
“If you had to fight one animal, and it was the same weight as you, what animal are you choosing and why?”
“Do you think cereal is soup? Why or why not?”
“If you had one hour to hide from a SWAT team, but you could only pick a mall food court, where are you going?”
“If you and your opponent were forced to switch bodies before your fight, would you still win?”
“Would you rather fight one horse-sized duck or ten duck-sized horses inside the octagon?”
“If the entire UFA roster had to fight in medieval times, who’s surviving the longest?”
“Is a hotdog a sandwich?”
“Would you rather have UFC gloves on permanently or walk barefoot on hot pavement for the rest of your life?”
“If an MMA fighter gets into a street fight, but there’s no referee, does the fight really happen?”
“How many people in this room do you think you could beat up right now?”
Damon just sat there, staring at Victor when he first heard the news.
“You’re telling me… they actually agreed to this?”
Victor only smirked. “Not all of them. But some? Yeah.”
Damon shook his head. He wasn’t sure if this was brilliant or a disaster waiting to happen.
One thing was for sure, though.
This was about to be the weirdest MMA interview of all time.
Damon continued to standin front of the mirror, adjusting his jacket, his reflection staring back at him. He ran a hand through his hair, taking a deep breath. Just as he was about to look away, he felt a familiar warmth press against his back.
Arms wrapped around his waist, and a soft voice whispered against him.
“Hey.”
He looked down and saw Svetlana’s reflection in the mirror, her smile effortless, her eyes full of warmth.
“You look amazing,” she said.
Damon smirked, turning around to face her. “Thank you.”

That’s when he noticed she was already dressed, jeans, a fitted jacket, her hair neatly styled. She wasn’t just lounging around.
“You going somewhere?” he asked, scanning her outfit.
Svetlana answered casually, almost without thinking. “Yeah, I’m gonna visit the hospital today.”
Damon’s expression immediately changed. Concern flickered across his face as he stepped closer, his hands gently resting on her arms.
“You’re not sick, are you?” His voice carried a rare edge of worry.
Before she could even respond, he reached up, placing the back of his hand against her forehead, feeling for any warmth.
Svetlana let out a small, amused breath, shaking her head. “Noo,” she dragged the word out, smiling in a way that seemed… off. Like she was hiding something.
Damon didn’t notice, at least not immediately.
“It’s just… I need a check-up once in a while,” she explained, brushing a loose strand of hair behind her ear. “My mom always took me for one ever since they adopted me. It’s just a habit now.”
Damon studied her for a moment, then nodded. “Alright,” he said, not thinking more.
Svetlana tilted her head changing the topic, eyeing him curiously. “And you? Got anything planned today?”
Damon grinned, the concern washing off him as he leaned against the dresser.
“Yeah,” he smirked. “I have a pretty interesting interview today.”
Svetlana raised an eyebrow, already sensing trouble. “Interesting how?”
Damon’s grin widened. “Let’s just say… they might regret inviting me.”

As Damon arrived at the studio for the interview, he took a moment to take in the atmosphere.
The place was sleek and professional, with a modern setup designed to make guests feel comfortable while ensuring the production ran smoothly.
Bright studio lights illuminated the set, and crew members moved around with efficiency, adjusting equipment and preparing for the shoot.
He spotted the man Victor had sent in his place, a familiar face, though not someone he was particularly close to. Still, if Victor trusted him, that was enough for Damon.
The guy gave him a nod of acknowledgment, a silent confirmation that everything was under control.
Damon exhaled slowly, mentally preparing himself. He wasn’t new to interviews, but they were still something he had to adjust to.
Damon went on to meet the staff and crew, exchanging brief nods and handshakes as he got a feel for the place.
The atmosphere was relaxed, not as tense or overly formal as some of the bigger media setups he had encountered before.
When he finally met the host, he was a bit surprised. She was around his age, dressed casually, with an easygoing demeanor that immediately made the environment feel less like an interrogation and more like a casual conversation. She greeted him with a friendly smile, extending a hand.
“Damon, good to have you here. I’m Ava,” she introduced herself.
Damon shook her hand, giving a polite nod. “Nice to meet you.”
From the way she carried herself, calm, professional, but not stiff, he got the sense that this wasn’t going to be one of those interviews designed to trap him into saying something controversial.
But… he felt that would be naive of him.
“Relax, we’re just here to have a good conversation,” Ava assured him, as if reading his mind.
Damon smirked slightly. “Sounds good to me.”
With the pleasantries done, the crew finished final setup adjustments, signaling that they were about ready to roll. Damon settled into his seat, adjusting his posture as the cameras started rolling.
